Close to a nice Restaurant and bar with gaming facility, which is closest neighbor. NO SMOKING INSIDE. Outside smoking only. Located just a few miles from Garden of the Gods, Fishing and boating at Gleno Jones lake, Stone Face, Bell Smith Springs, Burden Falls, High Knob ranch, Double M campground.

Great Front Porch View

Enjoyed our stay. Great view out front, perfect for morning coffee or an evening cold brew. Very comfortable beds, and everything you need to cook in the kitchen.

Great place close to Garden of the Gods

Beautiful view, with an easy drive to the Garden of the Gods. Eloise is an amazing hoat, with great communication. Very thankful we were able to stay here.

Fall getaway

This was a great location for our stay. Foliage was beautiful. And it’s close to the garden of gods and other attractions. This property is very well taken care of inside and out. Eloise was a super friendly host.. very attentive to our needs. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Shawnee Forest Trip

Very clean, comfortable, peaceful place.Ten plus deer the directly across from the property every morning. Eloise was very friendly and accommodating. Great location. Many attractions less than an hour away.

Great location, peaceful, quiet. Easy to visit all areas in the Shawnee. Just a few minutes from Garden of the Gods, Stoneface, Cave in the Rock. Stars were beautiful at night.

Piece of Heaven!

This was our second stay at this location. It has absolutely the most beautiful view around. It's nestled in a hillside with a fire pit, swing, hammock, and rope swing. Has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and host reached out and offered anything we may need to make our stay enjoyable. Close to Garden of the gods and hiking. Highly recommend!

Perfect landing spot for a visit to Garden of the Gods

My stay couldn't have been better. The accommodations were very clean and convenient and the beds were very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Eloise was extremely friendly, kind, and accommodating! She knew it was my birthday and left me a great card and some divine banana cupcakes that her friend made. I enjoyed coffee on the front porch every morning and the star watching at night was AMAZING. I would absolutely stay here again!

Comfortable and quiet

Great location on the north east side of the Shawnee Forest. Right up the road from Glenn O Jones lake, Stone Face and the Garden of the Gods. The wife and I spent our 40th Anniversary here to access the trails and had our anniversary dinner at the Red Onion. Fantastic place to stay, clean, quiet. easy access and everything you need. Not the 1st time we stayed and won't be the last! Thank you Eloise!

Nice home away from home

Good location on the north end of SNF, quiet and private. Woods in the back and farm field in the front, nice country feel and view. Hot shower, comfy bed, and nice kitchen for coffee and meals. We didn't get to spend much time there since we were gone every day exploring the area. I did sit in the swing by the fire pit for a few minutes before we checked out. Hopefully we can come back someday and we can enjoy a bonfire there with firewood that's provided with the stay. Lovely outdoor area to relax. Place was clean, roomy and comfortable. Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Unplugged weekend

My three teenagers and I had a great time exploring the natural beauty of Shawnee national forest. Eloise’s home is perfectly situated to be a launchpad for the excursions. The fact that T-Mobile has little or no service in the area was a bit of a bummer but eventually that turned out to be a great thing as we played board games and cooked dinner and talked !! The home was very clean and comfortable.. the girls loved the couches in front of the tv .. will plan on doing a repeat sometime soon

Just Perfect

This is our favorite place to stay in Southern Illinois. The location makes it just perfect for what we need. My favorite part is the front porch where we watch the deer in the mornings and evenings. It is quiet and peaceful.
