Everything was perfect
We were dropping our daughter at UVM, so stayed for two week. Suzanne was a wonderful host accommodating all my unusual requests due to my freshman and corona situation. The cabin is true to description in an incredible location. It’s rustic but important things like beds, bedding, shower were very comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed for out two week stay. Thank you Suzanne and Clark! We are definitely coming back.

Perfect setting, fabulous week, a few improvements would make a big difference
We loved our stay at the camp on Lake Champlain. With a deck and a screen porch on the lake, who could ask for anything more? Suzanne was a gracious host, the house had everything we needed, and the location was perfect for hanging out, swimming, kayaking, hiking, and biking. A few small improvements would vastly improve the "rustic" cabin -- doors on the bedrooms, a comfortable bed, some decent furniture (not fancy, just decent), a bar of soap in the shower. We would come back in a heartbeat with a few small improvements.

Rustic and beautiful
We had such a relaxing week- the weather worked out, every evening we saw beautiful sunsets from the deck, we enjoyed kayaking and lounging around. This location is within 30 minutes of Burlington, and tons of trails to hike. The space was not too small for us 4, we were able to cook some simple meals in the little kitchen, we were able to share the 1 bathroom without issue. Between the 4 of us we went through at least a gallon of water and some water bottles every day- drinking/ cooking/ making ice cubes, we were glad we brought a case of water bottles to have on hand plus the water supplied by the host. There is definitely zero privacy in the cabin- bedroom doors are see-through and hear-through since they are a woven screen, but luckily none of us snored! Everything was pretty much perfect except for our cabins lake access was out of commission due to low water levels in the lake so we had to use the nearby beach for all water activities. Our host was so friendly and responded quickly, overall no complaints!

Great view, needs TLC.
We enjoyed a 5 day stay at the Gabriel Cabin over the Fourth of July holiday. The location in North Ferrisburgh and specifically this bay is outstanding. The cabin is close to so many things to do in this section of VT and the views from this side of the lake - of the Adirondacks, are spectacular. We loved the peace and quiet of the cabin, nestled in the woods, but also a great water view (though a bit more tree trimming would make it even better). With any cabin rental there is usually a bit of 'wish this or that', and I share only to hopefully help improve this camp experience for future use. It has great potential with a bit of TLC. We wished the gas grill was as expected adjacent to our cabin. Instead it was a communal gas grill about a 5-minute walk away on the communal beach, so we never used it. Instead we did all of our cooking inside. Therefore, we recommend a cooktop vent for the stove and a ceiling fan in the kitchen to help mitigate the heat while cooking and during the hotter hours of the day. As for the rest of the interior, the beds were fine - clean sheets and towels. However, the overall cabin could use some updates. The lighting is very poor in the kitchen and living room area. Luckily for us the week was very sunny, but if it wasn't . . . Furniture could use some updating, and the immediate area surrounding the cabin could also use some tidying that could help with the overall curb appeal. That said, our host was very accommodating and hospitable. She was responsive during the booking process and available when we needed her while visiting as well. She was friendly and generous and we would certainly consider a second visit. We love VT and enjoyed being on the lake and were fortunate to still be able to visit during these crazy times (COVID-19 for those reading after all of this over!).

Peaceful and serene
We keep a sailboat nearby and this was the perfect location for a getaway. The property is spacious and well-equipped for lake activities (e.g. kayaking). Would definitely stay here again.

Why they chose this property

Simply put, Bayview Farm is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The Bay itself is quiet and relatively shallow, making it a bit warmer than other parts of the lake, and making for remarkable fishing, boating, and all forms of water sports.

What makes this property unique

Bayview Farm Is A Unique Property. It Was Originally One Of The Governors Lots In The Hampshire Grants (before Vermont Was Vermont) And Has Remained The Same Farm Ever Since (with One Very Minor Boundary Adjustment To Repair Crooked Lines). It Has Only Been Owned By Two Families Ever, And It Has Been Serving Guests Since 1890, When The Roof Was Raised In The Main House 'to Take In Borders'. The First Cabin Was Also Built Around That Time.
What This Translates To Now Is That The Place Has A Timeless Quality, A Place To Vacation Much Like People Have Been Doing For 100 Years. It Also Has A Stunning Natural Beauty That Caused It To Be Chosen So Long Ago As The Spot That The Governor Wanted To Keep For Himself. As Soon As You Arrive Here, You Are Immediately Struck With The Reasons Travelers And Locals Have Been Staying At Bayview Farm For Over A Century.
