This place is amazing and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The location is great for exploring the area. When you’re at the barn the animals help to make it extra welcoming!
Absolutely amazing Peace and tranquility with nature and all the lovely animal at the property Location is extraordinary right on the river and steps from red Lilly Wendy is amazing and the barn is charming and super comfortable
Lovely space! the best part was the location in Applegate to access our many day adventures— also, we really enjoyed the sweet, well cared for animals that loved eating apples from the orchard. The river access was a highlight for morning coffee too!
We had an amazing time and really enjoyed the property. Enjoyed the bounty of the garden with our bbq night. Our host was very kind and made sure we felt welcome. Highly recommend for a nice visit away from the city.
We loved the chickens and the animals and fresh garden. Road is a little loud at night but they do provide earplugs and it didn’t bother us too much but something to keep in mind if you are very sensitive to noise/light sleeper. Great stay overall!
This place is fabulous in terms of location, setting and decor. We ate fresh eggs from the chickens, ate fresh tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden and really enjoyed that front porch. The only downside is the sulphur smell of the water. It would have been nice to have some bottled drinking water to drink and brush your teeth with.

I'm so sorry to hear that the hot water had a sulphur smell during your stay. I wish you had alerted me so I could have put some hydrogen peroxide in the hot water heater. There is back up drinking water in the upper cupboard of the kitchenette. I'm sorry you missed it. Be assured that our well water is tested frequently and very safe to drink, but from time to time we do have a string mineral scent. For some reason, it happens during heat waves. Again, my apologies.
I am a Journalist and Psychology Professor. On an seven-state car trip during the pandemic, seeking fresh air and wide open spaces, I became enchanted with the warmth of Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley. When I saw the former cattle farm with it's old red barn, I stopped in her tracks. It evoked memories of my happy childhood summers spent at my family dairy farm on Prince Edward Island, Canada. That's exactly the kind of feeling I like to inspire in my guests: the joy of country living, gazing over a lush pasture, diving into a cool river, eating fresh eggs, drinking clean well water, and petting cute goats. Welcome to country living.
Why they chose this property
I love this little slice of Oregon paradise. My favorite thing sit to sit by the river with my morning coffee, take a nap in the hammock, or dive into the cool river on a hot day.
What makes this property unique
A farm stay with an elegant vineyard accessible from the property. And, the Applegate river, of course.
