I can’t say enough good things about this vacation home!!! This was our second time staying at this house and both experiences have been great! The house is always super clean and is stocked with everything you will need. We loved the dock, fishing was great from it and it is so convenient being so close to the boat launch. The owners were great to deal with and so helpful. I would definitely recommend this house!!!!!!

Very glad that you had fun fishing. Glad that it works out. Happy to have you and hope to see you back in the future..
Private stay with a lake house and a dock to fish off all yourself. The resident was feeding the horses and a donkey in the nearby stable and helped my daughter pet them, which was a highlight of her trip.

We had an amazing stay at this relaxing cottage right on the James River. The location couldn’t have been better—peaceful, private, and just steps from the water. The dock was absolutely perfect for kicking back with a drink or casting a line. We caught all kinds of fish and spent hours just enjoying the view. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind by the water!
We stayed for 2 nights and fell in love with the house. We will definitely return and stay longer next time. The hosts were great.

Amazing stay! Saw eagles from the dock. Multiple Kayaks available. Kind home owners help direct us the first day. Good cat fishing. Private location. Walmart plus will deliver to this remote location :)
Our family enjoyed staying here with a lovely view of the James River and an easy drive to Downtown Richmond, Colonial Williamsburg, and other spots. Plenty of space to spread out and plenty of spots to spend time together, it was just what we had in mind. Would recommend!

Lovely views of the river & birds. Peace and quiet. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. It is an old house but it is well cared for and we definitely enjoyed the three seasons room. There was everything we needed to cook our meals. I fell in love with the sweet donkey and we enjoyed walking the nearby trails.
If you are trying to enjoy the James River, this is a perfect spot. The house is clean and has plenty of amenities. It is very conveniently located right on the river! Hosts were very communicative and check-in was easy.
Will definitely stay again

The property is set on a picturesque landscape with views of the James River from windows and the sunroom. We enjoyed sitting in the sunroom relaxing and visiting Bubba the donkey. The house had all the things we needed for a perfect stay. We were in town for a soccer tournament and being able to relax in our downtime was perfect! We had no reason to contact the owners but when we did to let them know we were arriving and departing they were quick to respond. Thanks for a great stay!!

We purchased this property because our love or the James River and Richmond. The location was amazing, being just off the interstate and minutes from downtown Richmond. I am a avid kayaker, paddle boarder and previous white water raft guide. The James River is the only River in the country with class 5 Rapids running through the middle of it. Downtown Richmond is going through major revitalization and benefiting from their River locations and Historical value. Janet a skilled horse woman and a antique collector. She also has a knack for decoration in a comfortable way, and strives to make sure her guests are treated as if in a Five Star Hotel. This property was considered a Diamond in the Rough when we bought it... Janet and I spent over 1 year to ensure that it would be something that anyone could enjoy.. From the Taj King sized bed, High Quality Mattresses, fully stocked kitchen, Sun Room, out door environment and beautiful landscaping , We both feel that you will be very comfortable in a beautiful setting during your stay.
Why they chose this property
It's all about getting away from the fast placed life that we all have to endure. Everyone needs to be recharged, and this is a perfect way to do it. Let the stress go away and forget about all the craziness of what makes up your monotonous day. I, you , they ...all need some R and R.. don't' pass it by and say I wish I would have done that!!
What makes this property unique
