The picture window in the cozy living room shows off the river. Bring your bikes and bike from your door to the Virginia Capital Bike Trail. The trail will run from Richmond to Williamsburg. We are in walking distance to Deep Bottom boat ramp and have plenty of room for your boat and jet skis. Or you may choose to Kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board right from your private beach. We have direct water access, with a brand new 50 foot dock , with space to tie up 4 boats or just relax and enjoy the sunshine. Don't forget to bring your water shoes our beach is rocky. You can enjoy watching for the many species of birds including eagles, osprey, loons and blue heron to name few. We also have a Donkey (Bubba) and a Horse (Lil Bit) that we can introduce you to. You may also enjoy the challenge of looking for sharks teeth. If there is an angler in your group they have come to the right place. The tidal James in our area is known for catching citation blue catfish. The James also contains striped and large mouth bass, perch, shad and Gar. It is an escape into nature. There is also an abundance of history in our area. If you head East on historical route 5 you will encounter many plantations, battle fields, Williamsburg and Jamestown. If you head West on route 5 you will be going towards Richmond. Richmond has many museums, Tredegar iron works, festivals, Shockoe bottom, eclectic Cary Street, Maymont Park and lots more!! There are also 3 major Theme parks nearby, Busch Gardens, Water Country and Kings Dominion. For quieter days relaxing by the river, reading in the sun room, grilling out your favorite dish, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit this is a wonderful location. The house has a collection of books and games. The octagon picnic table is the perfect place for games and outside dinning. You feel the river breezes and hear the many sounds of river birds as you relax. We do not advertise on Craigslist.

About the host
Hosted by Janet Kondakor

We purchased this property because our love or the James River and Richmond. The location was amazing, being just off the interstate and minutes from downtown Richmond. I am a avid kayaker, paddle boarder and previous white water raft guide. The James River is the only River in the country with class 5 Rapids running through the middle of it. Downtown Richmond is going through major revitalization and benefiting from their River locations and Historical value. Janet a skilled horse woman and a antique collector. She also has a knack for decoration in a comfortable way, and strives to make sure her guests are treated as if in a Five Star Hotel. This property was considered a Diamond in the Rough when we bought it... Janet and I spent over 1 year to ensure that it would be something that anyone could enjoy.. From the Taj King sized bed, High Quality Mattresses, fully stocked kitchen, Sun Room, out door environment and beautiful landscaping , We both feel that you will be very comfortable in a beautiful setting during your stay.
