About this property
Eagle Vista
Description below, but first: The cabin is special to us, and a mountain cabin is unique in several ways. This is why need to feel assured about everyone who visits. We have a policy requiring guests to have at least two positive VRBO reviews after visits to other properties. There can be exceptions to the policy, but that process begins with some questions. If you are willing to answer some questions and agree with restrictions noted in the house manual, we will send all that next. Please let us know ASAP, one way or another, since we must approve or decline your rental request within 24 hours. Now, on with the overview!
At elevation 9,300, enjoy a wide, jaw-dropping view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The wind sings through the pines and wildlife abounds. No mosquitos, just hummingbirds! We provide lots of info about fun places and experiences within striking distance. In the cabin is an eclectic collection of music, decor, games, puzzles, and books - much of that with a Western/Old West theme.
It is not difficult to imagine being alone at the top of the world in the cabin, although there are neighbors several acres away. Eagle Vista is a solidly built, old-style cabin with glowing honey pine throughout. It is a work of Western art unto itself, with Western art on display inside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The colorful decor is mostly Western with some "country" around the edges, interesting and unique items down to almost every lamp and hook. It's just plain fun to see and experience! The six acres surrounding the cabin are a classic mountain combination of pines, sage, and beautiful rocks.
Please note that the second and third "bedrooms" in the loft are not officially separate rooms. Elsewhere in the listing we refer to them as "sleeping spaces." There is a partial divider wall. It feels cozy and private enough for family and friends. The fourth "bedroom" (sleeping space) is the pull-out sofa in the living room, queen size.
HOUSE MANUAL
We will share a keypad code and a detailed house manual 2-3 days before you arrive at Eagle Vista. A cabin experience is much different than city apartments and houses. We will share guidelines for safety and security, helpful tips about things in and around the cabin, and a lengthy "fun stuff" list of places and activities in the area. All this is our way of helping you be fully informed, assured, safe, and entertained for the best possible experience. Saddle up! Your next great memories await you here.

What makes this property unique
The cabin is eclectic, colorful, interesting, fun, and "rustic without roughing it." We think where you stay should be a big part of the travel experience, part of a cherished memory. We could have gone with a place that is much more generic and "run of the mill," but that is not us - and probably not you!
