Great place, it’s my husbands old family cabin. We love the lake, location, and everything about this place as there’s a lot of sentiment. The new owners have kept it 95% looking exactly the way it looked when my husbands family owned it.
This cabin was great for my husband and I. It's clean, cozy and has a great view of the lake from the porch. Big Lake Sis is wonderful also. The boat launch that is available across the lake from the cabin is super easy and quick to get to. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you!! I love that your son caught a northern right off the dock!
This was our first time staying at Curt's cabin on Big Sissabagama Lake and it was wonderful. The cabin has a cozy, woodsy vibe that's warm and welcoming. The entire place was clean and comfortable. Check in was easy, Curt was responsive, and the Wi-Fi worked great. We were able to bring our 7-month old puppy, which as an added bonus. We definitely recommend this cabin!
Cute cabin with great views of the lake. Our stay was very relaxing. Our favorite things about this property were the deck and the gas fireplace. Views of the lake from inside the cabin were very nice! TV and WiFi worked well for movies and streaming. The only unplanned issue was bringing home our garbage (including dog poop) but thankfully we drove a pick-up truck. I think it is worth noting this policy in the property information so that guests can plan accordingly.
The property and cabin are everything you would expect from an Up North lake property. Beautiful, quiet setting with a sweet bear-themed cabin interior. The perfect getaway for sun, water, and relaxation.
Very nice. Family orientated! Fishing slow but potential was evident. Would defiantly consider staying again!

Hi James, thank you for staying with us. We would welcome you any time. Sorry the fishing was slow for you. Last night i caught serveral crappies of the end of the dock. Hopefully the fishing will be better next time.
This is a great cabin! There is plenty of room and very comfortable! The deck is amazing! So nice to sit outside and look over the lake. Looking forward to renting again!
This beautiful cabin on Big Sissabagama Lake is just what we were looking for. The view of the lake from the large deck was spectacular, with small islands in the distance and clear, sparkling water. We kayaked around the islands and saw loons, geese on their nests, and an eagle in a pine treetop. The cabin was clean, comfort-able and well-appointed. Communication was great!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the porch was perfect for reading and listening for the loons. Quiet and on a beautiful lake. Curt was great with communication.

Thank you Beth. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay.
We had a great, quiet, relaxing stay at this cozy cottage. We brought bikes and kayaks. If we fished this is a perfect place for it. The cottage has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to a WI Supper Club and a short drive to town for activities and everything else.
Nice cabin with large deck. The lake and shore was great for swimming. The water was so clear. The boat was so helpful answering questions and responded quickly. This place was perfect and would stay again. Plus it’s close to a little town with a wine shop. And a couple other places.
The cabin was very cute on the outside with a huge deck. The view of the lake was amazing. The inside was also cute. The bathroom was nice as well. We did enjoy most of our stay there. The only negative was the bed sizes in the listing were listed as Queen size. They were not. They were all 3 full size. We measured and also the sheets said full. So my husband and I were super uncomfortable sleeping together. We did not want to sleep in separate beds. After all this was an anniversary trip. We specifically looked for queen or bigger when looking for a place to stay on Stone Lake.

Thank you. That is a very fair review. VRBO has no "Full Bed" option so I used the "Queen" option. I have since found out that a Double Bed is the same as Full. The listing has been changed. I am adding this note for review readers: A queen size bed has dimensions of approximately 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, a full size bed or "Double Bed" is 54 inches wide by 75 inches long.
Cabin exceeded our expectations.
Ice cold AC on those sticky days.
We had our fishing boat up there, but the bass and blugills were really good off the dock.
Great a little sandbar to dock up to.
Area dining is good. Get on the list at Pine Ridge
A peaceful lake with loons and eagles - what's not to love
Thoroughly enjoyed this property on Lake Sissabagama. Amenities were great. We weren't looking for a luxury setting. This is a classic, charming north woods cottage and most of our time was spent outdoors. Nearby Stone Lake had all we needed. We will very likely return.
We spent a week here over the Fourth of July and loved it! The cabin had most of what we needed, and there is a small grocery/general store in Stone Lake near by for anything else we needed.
The cabin itself was so cozy. We all slept soundly each night in the comfy beds. Everything was in good condition and clean.
The sandy shallow lake bottom was perfect for our daughter (2) to play in. The water is crystal clear with hundreds of tiny minnows darting around for her to observe. At dusk, bluegill and pumpkin seeds were biting like crazy! They were all large enough for us to have a tasty breakfast the next day.
We were expecting the lake to be busy, and there were a few party pontoons and jet skis each day but overall very serene and peaceful! The lake is easy to canoe and wildlife is abundant. Much of the lakefront is left natural. Heron, snakes, turtles, king fishers, etc are abundant!
We highly recommend and will be back!

About the host
Hosted by Curt Kellett
I live in Minneapolis and I have always loved the northwoods. Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking or, just tooling around the lake on my pontoon boat. There is nothing like the relaxing feeling you get when you get on the water and hear the waves lapping against the side of your boat. I've always wanted to own a piece of the northwoods and with your help I am able afford have this cabin and use it when it is not rented. THANK YOU! I really appreciate you.

What makes this property unique
I had been looking to purchase a cabin in the perfect setting for about three years. I was looking for a wooded setting on a great lake that has clear water with a sandy bottom. I also wanted to have a restaurant or bar nearby and the neighbors need to be far enough away that you feel like you are somewhat alone in the woods, yet friendly enough that when you do see them it is always a pleasure. When I first visited this site, I knew it was the one. Everything about this spot is perfect. It's up off the water but not too far. The view is unobstructed by anything but trees. Marshland on the other side of the lake stops people from building, keeping the view pristine. The sunsets are amazing!! Sit on the deck and watch the loons and otters swim by. Islands give a sense of mystery. There are a good number of bays to explore. Many areas of structure within the lake make for better fishing beds. The fishing is astounding, but I’ve already written about that on another part of the page. The restaurant is Pine Ridge, just a seven-minute walk from the cabin. And the rest will be evident when you arrive and see the setting.
