About the host
Hosted by Chelea Madden
Our triplets on an outing at Palmetto Park just a few miles outside of Gonzales. It is one of my very favorite places and has been since I was their age. When you are done feasting, shopping, touring and tapping your foot to some great Texas music in downtown history-rich Gonzales, head to Palmetto State Park for some outdoor fun!
Why they chose this property
We love being close enough to downtown for our visitors to be able to walk to great restaurants, museums and shopping. But to tell the truth, this amazing place has been in my family for almost 50 years...It is a labor of love, and we love to share it.
What makes this property unique
The construction of this 1914 jewel of Gonzales is an amazing story it itself. With its solid brick columns and granite front porch, a sweeping, self-supported private veranda, along with a spacious deck the rooms of second floor provides the perfect setting for romantic getaways & family gatherings. The first floor sets the stage for what we call Shopping Sleepovers! The first floor shop offers fine American antique furniture of the 19th Century and Estate jewelry. Over a dozen regional artisans, along with some of the European glass and Christmas treasure filled the shelves to overflowing. You can shop late, and sleep late all at the same historic property!
