Very private, the only other cabin you`ll see from our cabin is way on another mountain top!
If they`re calling for any snow, best to drive an SUV or all-wheel drive car/4x4. Some steep hills. Bryson City has a beautiful train station that takes you to Nantahalia Outdoor Center.
Not the best idea to navigate up the mountain for the first time after dark as there are turns that may be hard to see at night.
Also, regarding pets, we love pets and most are acceptable. However, if you’d like to bring your pet(s), PLEASE let us know ahead of time. We do ask if a pet is agreed upon that you pay a small per pet fee of $50 for small dogs, $75 for medium to large dogs, so our cleaning crew to ensure future guests that may be allergic to pets aren’t impacted.

Very Friendly Host with a beautiful home and fantastic views of the mountains. Even heard the historic Bryson City Train one afternoon from the porch. Would definitely stay here again.
Cabin is beautiful, spacious and well situated up the mountain. Easy access to Bryson City, and very close to all outdoor activities. Would def come here again!
The cabin was beautiful! We had a wonderful time. The drive way is no joke - very steep and a little bit of a nail bitter but that's to be expected when you're on a mountain top. Very secluded with a beautiful view - would highly recommend this location.

Stay was great but we suspect the host is trying to keep our damage deposit.
Absolutely peaceful! The only way you're going to find a place in WNC that is quieter is back country camping. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will stay again.
The place is beautiful, views are fantastic. Must have 4x4 or AWD!!! Road is narrow but easily drivable, the cabin road stretch is dirt/gravel and my 4x4 had fun a few times going up or down not good for sedans,or basic cars. Host was very responsive, bottom room has a tv, top room does not. Over all we enjoyed our stay, the view never gets old and it's different every morning.

About the host

I got into this business over 10 years ago to help my retired Mom who depends on rental income to make a living. She had hired a local "big name" company and they were charging her a huge fee to manage (like 25%), they weren't helping her keep a close watch on items damaged or stolen nor were they cleaning the property well. She was also not making a profit with this company. It was not booking as much as she was promised. She was desperate to just get the bills paid and almost sold her short rental investment at a loss. I asked her to allow me to give it a try. My short term rental management business has grown by word of mouth from my experience with her property to over 50 long & short term properties in North Carolina.
I have been a real estate broker since 2004, became a Broker-In-Charge in 2008 for our company RiverSmith Real Estate Services and have been managing properties across NC since then. I grew up here, love this area and sincerely love to help travelers truly enjoy their vacations. Our goal is to provide home away from home!
Why they chose this property
It is private, lushly green all year long but also the display of autumn leaves is breath taking, we love snow & skiing and Cataloochiee and the casino are both only about 40 minutes away! There is so much to do... ride the train, shopping, horse back riding, zip lining, canoeing/tubing/kayaking, swimming, boating at Fontana Lake nearby and of course many beautiful hiking trails!
What makes this property unique
This log-cabin was built in 2000 by a local, custom builder. They had to grade or cut the top of the mountain to level it for this log cabin, so it's very private. You are surrounded by about 4 acres of land. There is also a small craft boat dock and swimming area back down the mountain off the main road (ask me for the code to get in, if interested) at Fontana Lake. It's VERY peaceful here.
