About this property

Mtn. Cabin, Fire Pit, Hot Tub, Sunset Views, Private and Peaceful, 2BR and Loft

Enjoy a relaxing drive through the mountains to Blue Sky cabin. The 30 minute drive from Bryson City to the cabin follows along a rushing stream. The cabin is located at 3740 ft elevation in the private community of Alarka Highlands. With each foot of elevation you climb, you will feel the stress being left behind.

You can enjoy the great outdoors from the privacy and comfort of this beautiful log cabin. Enjoy taking in the surrounding mountain views while soaking in the hot tub, watching the sun set over the mountains, or sit by the stone fire pit and roast marshmallows for your smores. Enjoy the clear mountain air from the wrap around porch, or the serenity of one of the 2 private bedroom balconies. If you like to grill out, the cabin is equipped with a grill on the covered porch for your enjoyment. In the evening, get cozy in the living room by the beautiful stone fireplace.

Downstairs features a comfortable open floor plan, so all guests can interact from the kitchen, dining area or living room. The luxury equipped kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. In the morning, grind fresh coffee with the Kitchen Aid coffee grinder, and in the evening, blend your favorite cocktail or smoothie in the Vitamix.

The first main level bedroom is off of the main living area and features a queen sized bed. Across the hall, the master bath has a walk-in shower and a jetted tub for 2. Just up the stairs , the cozy loft offers views of the surrounding mountains and a twin over full bunk bed. The second bedroom is also upstairs with a queen size bed and walk-in shower in the en suite bathroom. Both bedrooms feature private balconies.

For the comfort of our guests, there are also additional amenities such as HDTV with Direct TV, DVD player, televisions in both bedrooms, and internet access. Outdoor adventure is at your doorstep. The private nature of the Alarka Highlands community allows for nice hikes and views throughout.

Bryson City sits on the southern side of the Great Smokey Mountains. It abounds with natural beauty and outdoor fun. In the area, you will find plenty of venues for entertainment and adventure including: The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Deep Creek tubing, Nantahala River Gorge, river rafting, Tuckasegee River, Tsali Biking, Fontana Lake, and the quaint mountain town of Bryson City with several breweries, shops and restaurants.

Once you enter the gate at Alarka Highlands, it will take you approximately 10 -15 minutes to reach the cabin as you climb higher in elevation. The main roads into the community, while paved the majority of the way, are steep and curvy. The secondary roads and driveways in Alarka Highlands are gravel. After your first trip up, you will be a seasoned pro at mountain driving. All-wheel or 4-wheel drive is strongly recommended during the winter months.

Beautiful cabin
It's always risky spending Christmas at a vacation home, but this cabin was absolutely perfect. More decorations inside than we have at our own house really made us feel we made the right choice. The sunsets from the back deck every night were unbelievable. The well stocked kitchen and awesome grill were appreciated and we made many great meals since it's a decent hike to Bryson City. We will definitely keep this listing in our favorites for a summer getaway option in the future.

Clean, modern, comfortable.
Nice place to rest and relax. Ample room for a family of 5. A bit off the beaten path so make sure you have groceries and a good book to just unwind once you get there.

Just Relax & Enjoy
Beautiful home nestled up high in the mountains. Very clean and well kept. We enjoyed late nights in the hot tub and could see a million stars above. Unfortunately we only enjoyed 1 night at firepit due to weather but area was comfortable and relaxing. Mornings on the deck with coffee and tea were breathtaking. Jessica was easy to communicate with and very helpful if needed. Local waterfall/brewery tour and whitewater rafting were extra fun in addition to GSMNP and the local Nantahala area. Mike and Michelle's first vacation trip after getting married in their home state of Louisiana was to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. The cool rushing streams, beauty of the many waterfalls, and crisp morning air kept bringing us back to the Southern Mountains. Although we lived in Montana for 10 years, the Southern Mountains has been our home for many years now and it's where we raised our three children. Every time we leave the work week behind and head out to the mountains, we feel the stress melt away.

Our Mission
We have always loved hospitality and creating special memories for friends and family. We strive to do that for each of our guests. We want to create a place that is warm and inviting where you can relax, have home cooked meals together and enjoy being with family. The mountains bring a sense of calm and rejuvenation, as well as adventure. Our goal is for you to obtain all of that - and more!
