The first and second bedrooms both offer queen-size beds. Bedroom three not only offers a Double bed but also a set of bunk beds, perfect for all the kids to share! With two full bathrooms, the whole family will have enough space to enjoy their trip without feeling too cramped together.

The house was perfect for our family. It was great for the two grandchildren and all of us had a wonderful time! We will definately go back to Surf City!

Seemed to have an ant problem; all appliances and kitchen are very outdated but all worked efficiently. Living furniture very, very old.. The deck area....perfect. Location PERFECT. The views were AMAZING !!

Family trip

The location is perfect! Check in and out was very simple. We didn’t have any issues so we didn’t have the need to interact with the property manager . That said communication was great leading up to our stay so I’m confident if we had needed something they would have resolved any issues quickly. This is the first Vrbo-or rental that didn’t provide basic necessities(bedding, towels, toiletries, everything was addl $) but maybe that’s normal for the region? And despite wiping surfaces and keeping every morsel of food in the refrigerator we had a lot of ants in the kitchen which was a bit off putting. All in all, we will likely rent again!

Oceanside perfection

What a wonderful week spent at this gem. Not once did we have to "find a spot" on the beach due to crowding. The weather was perfect every day too, minus an overnight storm, and the waves were perfect for boogie boarding. It is a surfers delight too, with many days spent watching surfers right from the deck. The interior was clean. The 3bed and 2 bath were perfect for our group (myself, my husband, or 14 yo son, my mother in law, sister in law, and her two kids (14/12). The spot was right down from the pier (for all ye fishermen!) Aso were fishing right from the shore. It was great having the stores in town a quick walk down the street. We rented a grill for the week because we didn't see it day anything about it being included, but there was a charcoal grill under the house. There was a tv in every bedroom, but out only "complaint" is that they were hooked up to Roku but without the owners pin, we were unable to use any apps or watch anything that wasn't live tv. In the living room, they had roku as well as youtube tv. They did have tons of dvds but our high maintenence teens are accustomed to their level of technology (smart tvs/apps) and the quality was not up to their standards (i say this half in jest because we did not go on a beach vaca to watch tv! It would have been nice to continue our shows from home at night though.) Another thing to note was the ants coming in from under the counter near the phone. Didn't stop us from rebooking both sidesnext year though!

perfect location

Perfect location on the beach, cannot be beat. However, beds and couch very uncomfortable, kitchen is super basic, could have used a few bigger pans to cook, a pizza cutter, maybe some other items. I would book again though in spite of those things, but it is no longer pet freindly.

Great location

The location to surf city was great, along with the private beach access. The furniture in the living room was in very poor condition. The backs of the furniture were completely wore out. We sat in the kitchen chairs the entire trip. The beds were very uncomfortable as well, they felt like air mattresses.

Island Delights II

The house location was great. The house, bedspreads, and furniture covers were not cleaned as we believe they should have been. While we understand it is a beach house, the sand from the previous tenants should be pretty well vacuumed out. This was not the case. Also the bedspreads were dirty and the furniture covers were not as clean as they should have been, especially in light of the pandemic. The bathrooms were clean. A previous review mentioned about the couch and loveseat needed replaced due to the sagging and that is true. It is time for a new set of furniture. Also there appeared to have been a gate on the deck which would have been helpful with our dog, however said gate was missing. We had to use one of the beach chairs lying on it's side to block the deck opening to the stairs. Also it is time for the house to be sprayed for insects. We will be returning to Topsail, although not to this house.

Island Delights - Unit B

Overall, this was a comfortable stay. Having beach front access for our family was perfect. The property manager was very quick to respond to a few issues we encountered, the fridge/ freezer would not come down to temp, and the AC stopped working. Additionally, It would have been helpful to have a hose to rinse off sand when getting off the beach, the shower would only operate while actively engaging the handle, making it difficult to rinse off chairs and toys with one hand. And every use of the toaster would result in the smoke detector sounding off, with no smoke or burning from the toaster, maybe from the heat rising to the ceiling. Unfortunately, the sound of the alarm terrifies our dog, but we managed.

Basic Rental

Property was extremely clean and we loved the location. However precious reviews talk about how comfy the living room furniture is....well the couch and the loveseat should have been replaced years ago. You have no choice but to sit in the middle of both. My auntie (72) and myself (60) have back issues so needless to say an uncomfortable week when having to stay inside. Beds are very comfy, 2nd bathroom is just big enough to turn around in, maybe good for kids but not for the 4 adults we had. We have rented thru VRBO for the last 6 years and have enjoyed the very homey feel with the personal touches. This home is a basic rental. The vacuum is extremely old and smells. And even though we did not have pets this "pet friendly" duplex has a sign on the refrigerator that pets are not allowed in the bedrooms......

Hurricane, but glad we came!

We came in on the weekend before a hurricane...and had even considered canceling, but I’m so glad we didn’t! The place was wonderful in every way! It had perfect bedding and dining arrangements for our family! The hurricane was overnight and the power company had our power back on before the end of the day. The beach was beautiful and not too crowded! The location is really nice and close to everything without being in the crowds. Stay on the island wouldn’t be complete without a couple of trip to our favorite Island Delights diner! The owner of the property repeatedly checked in on us to ensure we were ok, super nice guy!! Our vacation was amazing!!

Perfect Location

The house was fantastic!! The inside wall between the rentals is extremely insulated. We never heard our neighbors One thing I look forward to is having coffee outside on the deck listening to the waves. It was way to hot to do that during our trip. I’m not sure if having an umbrella would have even helped. I only mention this to set expectations. I did enjoy coffee inside at the table and still had the ocean view. The linen rental was expensive for the quality of bedding you get. I would have purchased my own, had I known, for the same cost or less than what I paid. The above mentioned FYIs do not take away from this wonderful home. The living room furniture was so comfortable. Napping in the recliner was an afternoon favorite for everyone!! Beds were comfy and there is lots of storage everywhere. We watched movies and played dominoes in the evenings. The movie collection in the home was extensive!! Only a few steps separate you from the the air conditioned home and the beach. PERFECT!! Oh, and we saw dolphins several times swimming in the ocean right outside the house!!! We had a lovely time. I regret that I did not remember to write in the journal before we left to leave our mark with everyone else’s. I would definitely rent this home again. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Great location

We were right at the beach, had enough space for what we needed. A shower right on the deck to keep the sand outside. Would book again but not through VRBO. They have the worst customer service.
