About this property

Luvin on the Ridge Cabin

To see "Luvin' on the Ridge" is love at first sight – in any season. If you enjoy hiking and quiet evenings on the deck or in the hot tub, you will love it too. There are dozens of trails nearby just a few miles away starting off of Skyline Drive, including access to the Appalachian Trail. If you want something closer (and easier), stroll the well-marked trails of Preddy Creek Park. There is even a trail from the cabin to Lydia Mountain Lodge that passes the site of an old Cold War radar site. Enjoy the Stanardsville Farmers Market on Saturdays from April through October. Enjoy the casual dining in Stanardsville or Ruckersville and at Bearrr Appetit at Lydia Mountain Lodge itself, where a spectacular view awaits you. Visit Montpelier, home of James Madison, our fourth president, and tour the grounds or just hike on the paths. Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, is also close enough for a visit. A 20-mile trip to downtown Charlottesville is highly recommended, and a walk around the campus of the University of Virginia beckons from there as well. Did we mention wine tasting? If you want to take a day off from hiking, schedule a special Italian lunch at Paladio at the Barboursville Vineyards. Early Mountain Vineyards is even closer and offers a light lunch after your wine-tasting. There are many other vineyards in the area as well. We hope you enjoy your visit and will come again!

Great place to stay and host family for a holiday.

We very much enjoyed Luvin On The Ridge as our "base" cabin for our family. (Southern Comfort was our other cabin.) The locations were good, as we could walk if we wanted to. View was good, set up on the floor plan was excellent. It was good to have 3 bathrooms with the large crowd. Also the very well stocked cookware, utensils, glassware, was great.

Great Getaway

We had a wonderful time in this terrific cabin. It was beautiful and serene. Enjoyed the sunrises and beauty of the mountain. Cabin is roomy and outdoor areas were great. Hope to return in the fall and see the foliage change color.

Beautiful Cabin

We have stayed many a time at Lydia's Cabins and all the cabins have been very nice but this cabin was exceptional. We invited my brother and sister in law to join us and they were so impressed by the cabin and stated that had never seen anything like it before. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Terrific Stay

We stayed for the weekend with our dog. The place was clean and welcoming. Very open space, bright and cheery. All of the essentials were there, we did not need to buy anything. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The hot tub was clean and worked well. If you're looking for a quiet landing spot for a winery day or hiking, this is it!

Wonderful getaway

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Lodge staff was very helpful. And the location was BREATHTAKING! We visited the Blue Ridge Pottery down the road, and went shopping in a nearby town. It was exactly the getaway we needed. Thank you!!

Another awesome stay on my mountain!

This is I believe my 14th trip to Lydia and as always, a perfect getaway. This cabin was well appointed. Kitchen was well stocked. Linens plenty. Comfy den furniture. Beautiful view!!!! Hot tub was a great reprieve on a cold and rainy day. Enjoyed air hockey but perhaps a heating source down there would make that area more comfortable. Thanks for another perfect getaway!!!!

Sons wedding

We stayed three nights in this adorable rustic cabin for my son‘s wedding weekend and the cabin is so adorable and rustic and wasn’t too far from their wedding venue! We were very pleased with everything and the first night. We could not get the little fireplace to light and once I called for help , the maintenance man came quickly to get it lit for us and he was very nice! Everything was just lovely! I would definitely come back and stay here again!❤️
