This place is truly a “paradise.” With ocean views and a quaint downtown shopping area, you will never run out of things to do. The Bird Rock neighborhood is a unique living experience – a cosmopolitan city with the tranquility of a small town. , 4 person maximum capacity. One car underground gated parking .

As soon as you enter the first floor of the two story condo, the beauty is front and center – every room is professionally decorated, making for a quite charming appearance. The master bedroom is beautiful and spacious, with all white limestone and Mediterranean blue tile. It also has a full bathroom; shower and tub. Also on the first floor is the first guest bedroom. The guest room has a luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower room.

The second story will take your breath away as you walk up the winding marble staircase to the main floor of the condo. The upstairs includes a large Ocean View balcony where you and your guests can enjoy alfresco dining and a refreshing ocean breeze. A gourmet kitchen will accompany all of your cooking needs. The kitchen includes a Blue Viking Range, beautiful marble countertops, and all of the cooking essentials. A second guest room is also located on the second floor; with a queen Bed. And TV. 1/2 bath .

Beautifully decorated, every room in the condo is a treat to visit. Professionally decorated rooms include the finest finishes, plasma televisions with premium cable, and fine linens that accompany every bed. Other amenities are also available to our guests. Use our exclusive underground parking spot ! Grab our beach towels, chairs and umbrellas, and take a relaxing bike ride to the beach. We have five bicycles available for your use. One thing is certain: the condo has comparable quality to that of a five star hotel.

Aside from the beautiful condo, the Bird Rock neighborhood is certainly a special place. Walk down the street and find some of La Jolla’s finest dining and shopping experiences. Fabulous restaurants of all varieties will keep your taste buds and palate guessing. Just a short bike ride down the boardwalk and you will arrive at the wonderfully relaxing Catamaran Spa. Take some time for yourself, and use guest passes which can be provided for a nominal fee. Other attractions nearby include the world-famous Seaworld, downtown San Diego, Lego-Land, Del Mar Race Track, and the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course (which hosted the U.S. Open only a few years ago, and other PGA Tour events annually). You are also close to a number of beautiful, local beaches: Windansea Beach, Tourmaline Beach, and the Mission Beach Boardwalk. A CVS drug store is also conveniently located right next door.

Perfect place for your vacation

Cathy is an excellent host. She is by far the most considerable landlord I have ever met. She will try to work with you to accommodate all of your needs. The condo is very beautiful and full of art work. It is located in the heart of La Jolla surrounded by good restaurants, convenient stores and most importantly the places you want to visit. We enjoyed our stay so much! We will definitely rent again next time we visit San Diego for vacation.

Great stay in Bird Rock

Condo was spacious, enjoyable and well furnished. Beds were very comfortable and the balcony was great. Quiet building and all residents we encountered were quite nice. Very walk-able area with plenty of coffee and dining options. One caveat: The master bedroom is next to the elevator to the underground garage. It can be noisy if people use it late at night.

Home away from home

Cathy and Alan have curated a wonderful SoCal oasis. This is a stunning property and very well appointed. Sometimes it was hard to tell whether we were in Santorini or Southern California :) Cathy and Alan were extremely responsive to any concern and made our stay feel like a true home away from home. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house and Kind Owner

My family and friends from South Korea had a great time at this house for about 6-7 weeks. Owner was very responsive,friendly and kind, A guide letter form her was very helpful that we could enjoyed the area even better. My mom fell in love with the kitchen (especially with the nice Viking stove/oven :) and the house. we also loved the interior and the beautiful view. Would love to stay again someday!!

Beautiful La Jolla Condo

What a fun filled girls’ week at a gorgeous condo in La Jolla! The condo was beautifully decorated, centrally located near restaurants, the beach, and much, much more. The kitchen was amazing, with all the conveniences of home. Having cocktails on the patio and overlooking the ocean was magnificent, a great way to end the day. The homeowners are easy to work with, responding quickly to any questions asked of them. We look forward to returning next year.

AMAZING Experience

What an amazing experience! I didn't know what to expect because I had always stayed in hotels on past vacations, but wow was I in for a treat! This is truly a home away from home, but even better. The decor is straight out of your favorite magazine, yet still felt homey and comforting. You can certainly tell the owners take great pride in this property and take care of it like they are living here themselves. The chef's kitchen inspired us to make a home cooked meal - it might not have tasted as good as the restraunts nearby, but we tried! The master suite was an oasis in which we could have spent our entire trip, but luckily we didn't because we would've missed too much fun in this beautiful location. My personal favorite was sitting out on the patio relaxing with the beautiful views. It was quite and relaxing with no disturbances - exactly how a vacation should be. There are awesome restaurants and shops within walking distance, and everything you need is close by. This includes the beach as it was unexpectedly close and easy to access. This is very important because we didn't have a car, so being able to get around on foot or with a bike was convenient. Overall this is a beautifully designed and cared for property, owned by nice and accommodating people. They are quick to respond to any messages and I got the impression they really wanted us to have a great time. That meant a lot to us and we will definitely be returning! I usually don't write reviews but I couldn't help myself because this is such a perfect place I had to share. Thank you!

Awesome vacation spot

We have visited this charming condo numerous times over the years. Our kids have some of their best memories coming to stay at this luxurious hideaway by the beach. The interior is bright and airy with an appropriate beach decor. The cooks kitchen looks straight out to the ocean through the living room & patio. After walking to our favorite local micro coffee roaster down the street (Bird Rock Roasters), we sit on the patio to relax and read the paper. We bike to the beach and the Pacific Beach boardwalk. Their are several good restaurants in easy walking distance. One item that has been a life saver is the CVS next door. Need a stick of butter or limes for the beer? Just send the kids over & back in 2 minutes. The furnishings are plush & it's definitely not a party pad. Have fun and relax in beautiful La Jolla.

Good, not perfect.

We recently stayed a month at this condo. The condo was large and furnished nicely. We enjoyed the artist/owner's many shelled mirrors, etc. While generally clean, the floors did not appear to have been cleaned recently. Some utensils, pots and pans were not clean. There was a heavy layer of dust under the beds. Our biggest disappointment was the blinds, which had broken pull cords and could not be raised to enjoy the view. Two of the three patio umbrellas had tears and were unstable in the wind. The beds were very good, and the main bathroom shower was very nice. The master shower/tub combo has a very high and deep ledge to step over, making it difficult to use for shorter persons. There were plenty of bath towels and wash cloths, but hand towels were minimal. The kitchen had a wonderful Viking range that we enjoyed. The dishwasher is in bad shape and needs to be replaced (rusted rack, calcium accumulation). The refrigerator/freezer and cupboards were fairly full, leaving minimal space for our things. Being there a month meant having to shop frequently. Our biggest inconvenience was the leaking marble farm sink in the kitchen which we noticed after a few days. Due to the water damage in the under sink cabinet, the sink had been leaking for some time. The owner said she had not noticed it was leaking and was unsure what to do. However, near the end of the 2nd week of our stay, during the middle of the night, the front of the marble sink fell and broke on the kitchen floor. It was fortunate no one was near the sink at the time. The owner quickly had a stone person come and look at the sink who offered 2 options for repair. Both would have required that we be away from the condo several hours due to epoxy fumes or marble dust. Because one of us has chemical sensitivities and allergies, plus we had another couple arriving at the condo 4 days later, we asked if they could wait to do the repair until after we left. We did not want to disrupt our planned activities or have to take our small dog with us during the day. A small amount of compensation was offered if the repair was done, but nothing for the inconvenience we had incurred earlier. It is our opinion that this condo would benefit from regular maintenance and a thorough cleaning. It was obvious the condo was very beautiful in the past and with a few upgrades, will be again.

Nice location with short walks to the ocean,pet friendly park, restaurants, coffee and a CVS next door. The owners were prompt with responses and a pleasure to communicate with throughout the stay. The home was clean, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen and filled with personal touches of the owners. Close to everything in San Diego. Will be returning!

Big, bright, comfortable condo in perfect location. Really appreciated the view of the water from the living/dining room. Bird Rock is, in our opinion, the best place to be in La Jolla. Quiet but still plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance. We were an extended family of five spanning the generations from teenage to 80-year-old great aunt. Everybody had a terrific time. Next year we plan to return to Cathy an Alan’s place for two weeks instead of one. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! (Also they were very prompt in returning security deposit.)

Great Christmas stay

We stayed in the condo for the Christmas week. The location is perfect - close to the ocean, lots of places to eat and shop in close proximity. The neighbors were quiet, we didn't hear them at all. We really liked the balcony - we watched the sunset almost every day. The condo has pretty much everything one may need for extended stay. Perfect home away from home

My family stayed at this beautiful condo right after Christmas thru New Year's week. It was just what we were looking for. The condo was well maintained, very clean, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The photos were very accurate and it was even more beautiful in person. The location was perfect; very quiet neighborhood, close to restaurants and grocery stores - most are walking distance. The beach access is vey nearby and easy access to highways. The owners were very accommodating and easy to reach for questions and was very easy to work details with from arrival to departure. We would love to stay here again. It definitely beats being in hotel rooms.

Wonderful experience!

From the moment we arrived, everyone was thrilled with the property and the location. Convenient stores, restaurants, etc. just as described. The condo owners have put a lot of effort into making this a comfortable and enjoyable visit. We tried many of the tips for restaurants and were not disappointed. My son discovered Oscar's mexican seafood for fish tacos and went back a couple of times. I liked the French Gourmet. My daughter is importing craft beer to Hong Kong and so we visited many craft breweries. On a tip from a friend we visited the Cabrillo National Monument at Point Loma which had an incredible view. The owners were very accommodating and everything went smoothly for us all.

Better than staying in a hotel

This is a large unit with secured underground parking. Walking distance to a number of restaurants, Starbucks and CVS. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions. She also provided many suggestions for tourist destinations and restaurants. A short drive to Pacific Beach and La Jolla, but nicely away from all of the partying. The unit was well stocked with linens and kitchen utensils. Our party was a family of four plus my father-in-law. It worked very well as he had the bedroom on the upper level and we stayed in the two lower floor bedrooms. Many of the owner's personal items were kept in the unit, so it felt more like staying in someone's home than a rental unit.

Thrilled happy and loved it!

We have rented this beautiful condo for three consecutive years with our good friends. Pictures do not even praise how beautiful and accomodating this property is. We absolutely LOVE it and have the best time. The condo is so spacious, 3 beautiful bedrooms, decorated with a designer flair, very beachy and cottage like. Each bedroom is so comfortable in all 3 rooms. The condo is very clean and meticulus. It has everything you need and more. Best of all, its easy to get to, easy parking, and such a fabulous location, minutes from the beach. There are such cute restaurants, retail shops, San Diego isn't too far, LaJolla is a couple of miles down the road, there are local coffee shops and the CVS is right next door,,,making everything available at your finger tips. The owners have taken great pride in this condo to supply everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The ouside terrace has great seating area, two umbrella's, ample seating and nice views of the beach. A great area to hang out in. We can't wait to go back again this year.......its the best!

Gorgeous condo....amazing La Jolla location

This was an amazing experience. The condo is beautiful and fully equipped as described in owner's description. From the moment you walk in, a feeling of calm takes over. It is immaculate, comfortable and has the feel of an elegant beach resort. When we travel as a family, we prefer to stay in and cook some meals. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a fabulous Viking range! I felt very pampered. Sitting on the patio with a glass of wine and ocean view is so peaceful! The beach is a quick bike-ride away. Also, there are many San Diego attractions very close by...the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Scripps Aquarium, Gas Lamp District just to name a few. I would highly recommend this 5 start destination!!
