The Minns Cottages is conveniently located in George Town. It is a fifteen minute drive to and from the Airport.
The Cottage is located across from the beach with the best snorkeling spot in Exuma. It is a ten minute walk to town where you will find the Restaurants, Straw Market, Food Stores, Gas Station and Water Taxi.
We do provide beach chairs, beach umbrellas, coolers and beach towels.
The cottage is surrounded by a beautiful grassy lawn, fenced with a stone wall around the property, overlooking the picturesque Elizabeth Harbor and Stocking Island.

Monica was a great host and Buttercup was exactly as described and pictured. We loved coffee in the mornings in the screened in porch and the convenience of the beach being a short distance across the street. The beach gear that was available to borrow was also a really nice perk! While Minns cottages is walking distance to George town, we did end up renting a car as the main road was a little busier than expected but also so we could see more of the island. All in all we had a fantastic stay here and would definitely come back again!

Wonderful stay in Buttercup

The cottage was a no-frills very comfortable place for my husband, daughter and I. It was very clean and well laid out. Everything we needed was there. We loved coffee on the screen porch overlooking Elizabeth Harbor and afternoons at the beach across the street. Easy access to both the north and south ends of the island - both worth visiting.

Great Cottage!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Buttercup Cottage! It was perfect for two couples. The beach across the street is beautiful and the supplied beach chairs, towels and umbrellas were so nice. Monica was very responsive when we had a question or need. We especially enjoyed the porch for morning coffee and evening cocktails!

This house was well equipped with towels, linens, things we needed to cook in the kitchen. We felt safe and enjoyed the exclusive feel of the home. The couch wasn’t as comfy as we would had hoped. But overall we felt as though the value was good.

Wonderful vacation!

We had a wonderful trip to Exumas. Minns Cottages was the best location for all the things, events we planned. Everything from the check in and check out process was simple and easy. Communication from the owner to find the cottages was on point. We were met with kindness the entire trip from the staff and the owner. We had troubles with our flights out of town, and they were super helpful and accommodating through it all. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality. Minns Cottage was perfect for us!!!

Everything was great. Kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pans, towels, dish soap etc etc- just bring your food. Beds were great, as was AC, wifi, porch, TV, etc. Even had a pair of binoculars! See you next year!

Amazing stay at Buttercup cottage

We loved our stay at Minns cottages. The cottage was so clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Monica was always quick to communicate and very helpful with any questions or issues that we had. However it was also very private and quiet which we appreciated so much. There was a lovely beach across the road and Georgetown was only a 5-10 min walk - we went to town numerous times most days. I would HIGHLY recommend Minns cottages. We LOVED our stay and hope to return. Thank you so much Monica.

Special vacation get away.

This little home has it all, the best location, the best property manager and the best service. Monica went beyond the norm to make sure our stay was truly special. From arranging a very special birthday cake for my mom to making sure the home was well equipped at all times. Very relax, checking and checkout process, always giving priority to our family! This trip to the exuma and the Minns cottages is a new family tradition. See you all next year!

Lovely cottages!

My husband and I along with our son just returned from a gorgeous week in exuma spent in the minns cottages. We stayed in the 2 bed/2 bath buttercup and it was absolutely delightful. The cottage was very clean, and totally stocked with everything one would need from beach towels to silverware. We fixed many meals in our kitchen and found everything we needed, and then some! We enjoyed our coffee on the screened porch overlooking the harbour every morning, and had the best sea breeze! Great location and easy to get to everywhere quickly. I highly recommend the minns cottages while staying on exuma!

Awesome little cottage! Great location!

Minns cottages... just what they advertised they were. Stayed 10 days. Quaint, cozy and had everything we needed for an awesome first visit to Exuma! Location was awesome! Perfect to drive and explore the entire island. Wonderful little beach a few steps away...And we had it to ourselves every single day! Kitchen well stocked with what we needed for the breakfast and a few meals we cooked in. Ate out somewhere different every night! Owner is awesome and responsive. Thank you Monica for everything. We will be back! Exuma stole our hearts!

Minn's "escape" cottages

My husband surprised me for my 60th birthday with a trip to Georgetown, Exuma. Our daughter in law made all of the arrangements including our stay at Minn's. It was perfect! We stayed in the Ixora East and it had all that we needed. It was clean, quiet and stocked with all that one could want. We were fortunate to be the first to use the new "king" size bed, it was a dream to sleep in! Esther the caretaker, and Travis, were so great. Whatever I needed Esther was there to help us with it. We would certainly hope to return to Georgetown and would definately stay at Minn's next time.

Great location, well equipped and attentive property owner!

My family of 4 stayed in Buttercup cottage. Monica was very accommodating and responded to all my questions and requests. The cottage has most everything you need! My only suggestion is to provide 4 beach towels instead of 3 for a family of 4. We made it work because there were plenty of bath towels! Location is good and very close to the center of town. We were still thankful for our rental car that enabled exploration of the island. The beaches and water in Exuma are indescribably beautiful. So much to see and do. Monica provides some basic info sheets that are helpful. You can find more info elsewhere as well. It would have been helpful for us to have received an email prior to arrival that contained info on page one in binder at cottage....things more beneficial to know prior to arrival versus once there! So as far as improvements I think a few more details and updates to your info sheets would be super appreciated and helpful. The rest is all good and I would not hesitate to stay at Minns Cottages again!

True Bahamian Hospitality & Comfort

If you are looking for a true Bahamian experience then look no further! Buttercup Cottage & Monica & Michael Minns were wonderful hosts. All your basic needs (including beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, snorkeling equipment, washer/dryer) & more are met. The cottage is clean, comfortable, centrally located (you can walk to Georgetown) on the island & some of the best snorkeling is directly across from you in Queen’s Harbour; brain & finger coral; sting rays, numerous fish including starfish the size of dinner plates & more. Monica graciously offered to grocery shop for us as we were arriving after the stores closed. She greeted us upon arrival & helped us to get settled. Rent an SUV/Jeep & explore the island from tip to tip, and watch out for the potholes! There are many beautiful beaches to be found (Hooper Bay, Pretty Molly Bay, Tropic of Cancer, Coco Plum) & conch fritters to taste (the best we found were at Club Arawak). Be prepared for the ‘no see em’ bugs & just expect to get a few bites - it’s just part of being on an island! Use baby oil to keep them at bay. The main road runs in front of the cottage, but don’t let this deter you. The screened in porch drinking a cup of coffee or cocktail was a delightful place to watch the sunrise & locals as they passed by. We will be back!

Best snorkeling on the island

Monica had our cottage cooled down, refrigerator stocked with basics since the grocery stores were closed and lights on when we arrived Friday evening.. The cottage was clean and just right for our family get together another. Across the street was our own private beach. The snorkeling on the reef there was fantastic. Lots of starfish, tropical fish and a couple stingrays. The location was perfect being only a short distance to downtown Georgetown. We highly recommend Minns cottages!

Fantastic

My adult daughter and I loved our stay at Buttercup Cottage. The view from the front porch where we ate breakfast every morning was beautiful. We had an almost private beach across the street to enjoy with chairs, towels and cooler onsite to borrow. Monica had some groceries waiting in the refrigerator since we arrived after the stores had closed our first night which was so nice. Monica always responded to any Exuma questions promptly and gave great suggestions for our trip! She personally met us at the cottage when we arrived and we enjoyed meeting her. The cottage is close to Georgetown and conveniently located to explore the island. We can’t wait to go back!

This Property has been in the Minns Family from 1895 when Robert Minns acquire the property and was given to his son Nigel Minns and now his children are managing the estate. The Estate is Approximately 220 Acres and runs from shore to shore on the Island.

This Cottages are very close to downtown, restaurants and the beach all is within a walking distance. All the Cottages are within 1 minute walk to the beach. They are quite specious with fully equipped kitchens, large living room, bedroom m screened patios and WIFI. We do have laundry facility and a Communal propane BBQ . Shopping, Boat Rentals, Straw Market, Fish Fry are all within walking distance.

What makes this property unique

You are very close to George Town, no rental car needed unless you want to go and explore the rest of Exuma and visit all the beaches. You can rent a boat from Minns Water Sports or walk to catch the water taxi from the Government dock.
