Welcome to Cloudland Equinox, a retreat on Lookout Mountain designed for rest, comfort, and time outdoors.
Much of the Equinox experience unfolds behind the house, where a private hot tub, steam sauna, fire pit, grill, outdoor seating, covered deck space, and peaceful forest surroundings create a place to truly settle in. For many guests, this becomes their favorite part of the stay—morning coffee, long evenings, quiet conversations, sauna sessions, hot tub time, and nights by the fire.
Inside, the villa is comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with a warm modern style, natural materials, a fully equipped kitchen, and inviting living spaces. The home sleeps up to six guests with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it a wonderful fit for couples, families, or a small group of friends.
Cloudland Equinox sits within our 14-acre Cloudland Villas property, with walking trails winding through the forest and leading to panoramic bluff overlooks. Along the way, chairs, benches, and quiet sitting areas invite you to stop, take in the surroundings, and stay awhile. The setting feels peaceful and removed, while still being close to Lookout Mountain attractions, scenic drives, waterfalls, local towns, and outdoor adventures.
But you may find that some of the best moments happen without going anywhere at all. Soak in the hot tub, unwind in the steam sauna, gather around the fire pit, or settle into the swing as evening arrives. Walk the trails, find a quiet bench at the bluff, watch the light change through the trees, or simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.
Cloudland Equinox — in harmony with nature and time.

Great location conveniently located near lots of good hiking in Cloudland State Park and about 10-15 minutes from a small town with restaurants and stores if needed. Home was clean and pet friendly with all the essentials. Would stay again!
This HOUSE is amazing!! The interior is amazing but so is the outside, the views, the trails, the hot tub…it’s the perfect quiet get a way. The owner is close by and is very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay.
The host was so friendly and welcoming. Our family loved roasting marshmallows, exploring the trails, and relaxing in the hot tub. We would definitely stay again. Very dog friendly too!
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The property trails offered beautiful views and lots of deer to watch. It was the perfect place to stay with Cloudland Canyon right up the road, and an amazing got tub to relax in after a long day of hiking!
It is a beautiful vacation rental! The house couldn’t have been more perfect. We loved everything about the house; the cleanliness, the bed, the hot tub & sauna, and the close proximity to all the trails, and to Cloudland Canyon State Park. Our host was amazing; he was responsive, and the hospitality was exceptional!

We had such a good time at the property for my fiancés surprise birthday! Everyone was so impressed and happy with the place. It was very tidy, wkitchen had all the essentials, lighting and decor was great, and the outdoors, just wow! Perfect set up for a relaxing comfortable mountain getaway and near the trailhead to the bluff that had the most amazing sunsets! Wish we had more there! And the host was so responsive and kind
The host stopped by to introduce himself and tell us about the property and its history. The attention to detail inside the home was impressive. This was a comfortable and very clean home. We would return should the opprotunity present itself.
The sauna and hot tub were amazing to have at hand! Great hiking to the bluff! Beautiful sunsets! Very clean and comfortable place. This is a great location too. Easy to arrive and leave. Cloudland Canyon SP right down the road too. If you’re into wellness and nature this is the place for you. Great place for anyone solo/couple/group.
We had a wonderful time. Quaint and clean property with a beautiful view just a short walk down a wooded trail. Our dog loved hiking around the property with us.
Everything was clean, the house is even more stunning and comfortable than the pictures show. The views and hot tub were phenomenal and we all greatly enjoyed our time together here!
Loved the serene land scape! Beautiful views with a cute and up to date cabin. Nice and relaxing stay, with hot tub and sauna. Perfect for out of state vacationers who are there to see their son graduate from SLTC! Thanks for the awesome hospitality and sharing your lovely hideaway!
We were very thankful to be able to stay in such an immaculately clean, extremely comfortable mid- century modern cottage in the woods atop Lookout Mountain, GA. The owner, who lives next door, is kind, helpful when needed and has provisioned the home with everything you could need. We especially enjoyed the new outdoor decks, the wooden bench swing surrounded by forest and the fabulous trail through the woods to an exceptional outlook and view down the mountain. We hope to return sometime.
My family stayed at this incredible retreat the 2nd weekend in April. We were celebrating a rare visit with our son, who lives in North Dakota. I wanted our trip to be special, memorable...and WOW, it exceeded all expectations! This custom-built property is situated directly on the Lookout Mountain Bluff and provides panoramic vistas that rival those in Cloudland Canyon State Park! The home was immaculately clean, and offered every amenity found in a 5-star resort including a hot tub, sauna, and ceiling mount showerheads. The gracious Host's attention to detail on every level was amazing! We will definitely be back!!!
My sister, brother and I stayed in this rental for three days on our trip to visit family. We were not disappointed in the slightest! Very clean property and an amazing owner. He was very punctual and any questions we had were answered fairly quick. The hiking trail is beautiful, especially where it opens to an amazing view of the bluff. The rental was set in a quiet area with some amazing views. I highly recommend this rental and we will be staying here again on our future trips. Ten out of ten rating from us! Thank you, Al!
This is a beautiful property nestled in a tranquil mountain setting. My husband, daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our trip.Everything was extremely clean and the house is very well decorated with rustic, yet modern touches. It has cozy bedding, a comfy, modern sectional and a well equipped kitchen. If you are a fan of coffee and tea (like me!), you will have your choice of a drip coffee maker, a kuerig or an electric tea kettle. One of the major stars of this property is the outdoor living areas with multiple decks and a sauna and hot tub under a covered deck, so it can still be used if it happens to rain- which happened to us, so we were glad to have it! There is also a fire pit for s'mores, and the serene setting with veiws of the wooded mountainside is very relaxing. There are also trails on the property that you have access to. One of them is a short walk down a wooded trail to a breathtaking view of the valley below. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed! The host is very plesant to communicate with and responds quickly. He also provided detailed check-in info and information about the property and trails, which I found very helpful. We would definately stay here again and would love to come back!!
We had a wonderful time at this property! The location was great and we saw deer every evening that we drove back to the cabin. The cabin was super clean and the hot tub, sauna, and fire pit made the stay even that much better! We all, including our dog, loved hiking the trails on the property. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay at this (or one of the other) cabins again! The host, Al, was quick to respond and tended to any needs in a timely manner.
We enjoyed our stay very much. We were expecting more of a mountain view, but it was mostly trees. We enjoyed the hot tub immensely and the beds were very comfortable. Our host was extremely helpful with any needs that came up, and very prompt at correcting any issues.
