Nice Place

Great house and location. It is an older home and the bathrooms are a little small. But for the location, it's proximity to the beach and price, it was a great place to spend the week! I would definitely stay there again.

Great location!!

Location and views were great. House was nice but bathrooms were small, old, and dirty. Could definitely use a renovation for as much as they charge. Overall still a nice vacation.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location!! Easy just steps from the beach! House needs some3 serious updates. All beds are exstreamly uncomfortable and OLD! Owner needs to do some updates for the amount they are asking for rent. At the very least replace the beds, as there is nothing worse then not being able to rest on vacation.

Nice Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Well it was nice but we found 3 pieces of clothing which tells us that it wasn’t totally cleaned. The sheets are very old and need replaced as well as mattresses. The home could use a wiring update because there are not enough outlets. Lastly the toilets are sitting to close to the floor, they are outdated. Deck chairs are awesome and I would recommend this cottage to anyone but it does need some updates. I forgot, the Furnace/AC filter hasn’t been changed in a LONG TIME.

Jeremy, Thank you for the review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. The sheets are picked up and delivered weekly so I am surprised to hear that the sheets were old. I have forwarded the filter issue to our maintenance department. I do wish you would have called us on these issues, they would have been rectified immediately, except for the toilets which I will pass on to the owner. Hope you give us a second chance in the 2024 season.

House full of fleas :(

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice house near the ocean. BUT. Despite no pet policy house was full of fleas. It looked like somebody before us came with a dog or even dogs as nobody from Carolina Shores ever check what is going on in the house. Fleas bit me, my husband and my kids badly which ruined our vacation started so perfectly. When we told to management about the problem, they said that it is probably SAND FLEAS!! who bit us. I have all the photos of fleas and bites, so these are not just words. Feel sorry for the next people who will be having their vacation in this house.

Simply Perfect

We’ve made it our own little family ritual and I couldn’t be more pleased. The house is humble and perfect. The wood paneled walls lined with old family photos dating back to the 60s and potentially beyond, create this time capsule of familial love and relaxation. The view and location cannot be beat! Minutes from a convenience store and family favorite restaurants (our favorite - Goombay’s!) We can’t wait to continue to rent this house for years to come.

Girlfriend Getaway

We had a great time in OBX. The house was as described. The ocean facing deck was by far our favorite spot to be. The sunrises were amazing, even saw a few dolphins. It was a quiet time of season, not too many people which we found perfect. Great location, quick drive or walk to different activities and restaurants. We had the wrong code given to us to get into the house so that was slightly inconvenient as we had to drive back to the office to get the after hours number as we didn't see it on our paperwork. We got that resolved pretty quickly, however so was appreciative of that. A few other little maintenance hiccups but nothing that affected the home so much that it spoiled the great time we were having. If the pet policy didn't change we would 100% rent this house again!!

What a Gem!

I’m so excited that I found this cottage. I’ve never stayed at a beach cottage on the beach before due to budget, but this was such a special find! I love everything from the wood paneling to family photos over the generations. I can’t wait until next year’s books open up so I can book it again! Carolina Shores was super easy to work with and always professional and nice when I spoke with them.

Perfect Old School Cottage

The perfect little oceanfront cottage. We didn't even need to sit on the beach because the deck was perfect to sit in the sun or shade and still enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean. We loved the old knotty pine. The beds could use new mattress and the position of the toilets could be different, we found it hard for an adult male to sit on them. Those are minor things and would not stop us from coming back, in fact we have booked for next year already.

Beautiful Beachfront

We were so happy we were able to book this property. It was a dream to be right on the beach and in such a great location. Would definitely book this property again. Our dog also loved the easy beach access!

Loved the house and location.

The property management company is terrible. Trash was not taken out, dirty dishes in the dish washer, dirty clothes in the washer (someone’s underwear), had no signs of being cleaned any time recently, and there were roaches. I loved the house and location but the property management company is beyond horrible.

April 21 Stay in the Gray House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay in the "Gray House" last week. While the road it's located on is bit scrappy, the location directly on the beach is hard to beat. Also, the house is a real home versus just a "rental" property. It also has old-school charm with the knotty pine walls, harkening back to a past age. Very functional and strategically located for access to the Southern and Northern sections of the Outer Banks. By far the best attribute of the home is the porch with its classic views of the sea. We enjoyed our coffee in the mornings here and our cocktails in the evening.

Great beach location and older house

You couldn’t ask for a more spectacular Outer Banks beach on your back porch and the price was great. But the house is old and worn. Beds are comfortable but the rest of the indoor furniture is old. If that doesn’t bother you, then go for it.
