Kids' first trip to the beach

My family had a great time spending a week together in Key Largo. This property is a perfect place for families. My husband and I took our three daughters (11, 5, and 3) and my parents. The kids had never been to the beach before and they had the time of their lives. Lolita has thought of everything you could possibly want. The bedrooms are super comfortable. The smallest bedroom now has bunk beds which the kids absolutely loved. The kitchen is well-stocked and the neighborhood is close to grocery shopping, restaurants, and souvenirs. The kayaks are in great shape and all the kids loved paddling around close to the beach. They were so excited to see a variety of fish, starfish, horse shoe crabs, and a few conchs. The sand is a bit rocky (as expected), but a closetful of water shoes kept everyone happy Overall, we would recommend anyone with a large group visiting Key Largo check out this property. We hope to go back ourselves someday!

Silver Lining

We had originally booked a different property that got canceled last minute. Lolita came to our rescue and accommodated us with one day's notice. We couldn't have been more pleased with the home and location. All the amenities one could need were on location. Our favorite feature of the home was the large screened in porch where we spent most of our time if we weren't out doors. But the absolute best was being directly on the beach! We definitely plan to be back. Thank you Lolita for providing the "silver lining" and salvaging a trip that started out on the wrong foot - we appreciate you! :)

Very nice house, unbelievably well equipped, outstanding location, very sincere and helpful owner. No doubt we will be back. Walk out of your screened room on to the beach, literally 4 steps, then 50 feet to the shore!

Great place right on a small beach.

The house was very nicely furnished with everything we needed from kitchen items to bedding and towels. There were 6 of us and we never felt crowded. The screened in front porch with tables and chairs was a great gathering place to watch the bay. The outdoor shower made it easy to rinse off ourselves and the equipment, as well as the hoses for clean rinse water for the foot bucket and kayaks. There were a couple of issues (with the air conditioning and king bed) but they were immediately resolved by Lolita. We were really close to the diving and parasailing outfits we used. We spent one day just enjoying the house and beach. John caught fish and crabs and we went kayaking. If I can get back to Key Largo, I would definitely want to stay there again.

A great place to relax

The house is very clean and roomy enough for several people, although keep in mind there is only one bathroom. The owner was very friendly and easy to contact. The back porch is a great place to relax and watch the beach. There are plenty of good places to eat and a very convenient grocery store. We loved our stay! There are many opportunities for diving in Key Largo. We didn't want to do any, but this would be a great place if you want to dive.

Best beach house

thank you Lolita! Really enjoyed our stay. Cold front came thru last 3 days of our stay but had everything we needed for a great week. Loved the beach, that was right in front of the house, and that you could see it within most of the house. Could see dolphins jumping out front some days. Put the kayaks to use n watched the manatees almost everyday in the canals close by. The baby manatee even hung out by my 12 year old son for along time right next to his kayak n he kept rubbing his belly n touching his nose n hand flipper things. He really loved that day. I had a great time fishing most days out of the kayak next to mangroves catching mangrove snappers. Still can’t get over how much you provide at the house for us all to do. Definitely coming back

Beautiful palm trees and private beach on your personal dive spot.

My family stayed here in 2016. It was me my husband my 17 year old daughter, 12 year old daughter, 9 year old daughter, and my 6 year old son. I had never been to the Keys. It was on my bucket list. It took me a year to write this review because after going on vacation to Panama City beach summer 2017, we all realized how amazing our time in Key Largo actually was. The home owner was so sweet. She helped me make sure my billing all went through correctly prior to our stay. There had been a little confusion but she took care of it and even asked me what kind of wine I liked. When we arrived the promised bottle of wine was chilled in the fridge. We had a private white sand beach, which is rare in the Keys. We snorkeled all day one day and saw lots of fish. It was so cool. My husband fished some in the evenings using the fishing poles that were included in our rental. We used the swan float that was provided. Lolita had so many towels that we never had to worry. The house was very neat and tidy. She provided kayaks which my husband and I took out after our morning coffee. We explored the canals of the neighborhood. We saw huge house dog sized iguanas. There was so much charm on the homes we saw from the canal. We were close to a great local pizza shop and grocery stores and souvenir shops. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the cable tv and WiFi. The kitchen was well stocked. She doesn’t throw things away like a lot of rentals do. So there was detergent and dish liquid, seasoning for cooking, and condiments. She had a barbecue pit that we used a few times. We layed out on the beach chairs that were provided. We jammed out to the radio on the great stereo system that she had which plays out on to the back patio, with amazing palm tree water views. It was so calm and relaxing and beautiful. We truly enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Lolita for sharing this special place with my family. I hope that you faired well during the recent hurricanes. Peace and love to you. ❤️

Paradise

this vacation was for my fiancé's 50th birthday . This ended up being one of the top two vacations ever! The beach house is Heaven. Super clean.. with floats, kayaks, beach chairs, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, blender, and TWO refrigerators (one in the screened in porch for easy cold drinks from the beach). Close to everything from Charter fishing, parasailing, snorkeling, jet skis, fantastic restaurants. Lolita is the nicest person. Key Largo is Paradise, and her beach house is the perfect place to stay. If I can get back to the Keys, I will stay at the house again.

Perfect place by the water, literally on the sand. No waves.

We had a wonderful time staying here, comfortable accomodations, every amenity you can think of for the water was there for us to use. The kayaks were fun, we snorkeled and barbequed in the evenings. The air conditioning was good, all appliances and bbq are modern and worked great. Lolita and Sandy were great hosts and were available if we needed them. Thank you for a great place by the water. Amazing vacation

We stayed for 7 nights and it was perfect, we traveled with our 3 boys ages 2,4 and 8 and this is the first vacation where we stayed at the house everyday, the kids didn't want to leave the house not even to go eat ice cream ( I wish it was like that back at home lol) the beach was amazing, the water was so clear the kids spend most of the days trying to catch fish with a bucket 😂, we were so amazed with everything in the house. The neighbors are really friendly, I forgot the gentleman name but the next door neighbor even gave us fresh coconuts from his trees, his little dog Max was always playing with my little one 🤗 Overall it was an amazing week and we are planing in renting again for our next summer vacation 👍🏻👍🏻 Lolita and Sandy were amazing!

Fabulous home away from home for our family

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage girls. This is EXACTLY what we were looking for when it came to location (literally 2 miles either way got us to restaurants, entertainment, and shopping). The house was cute and well equipped (we did add a few "essentials" in our minds - a garlic press, salad servers, and tongs for frying the yummy fish we caught!). TONS of towels, lots of laundry options, and I see that there were some reviews with needing to update beds and couches but we don't feel that way! It's a beach house and we felt the accommodations were fitting. We enjoyed the kayaks and saw manatee daily. The grill was awesome and in perfect working condition. LOVED having a fridge in the house and in the screened in porch! No need to walk far for a cool beverage. We were fortunate where we had NO NEIGHBORS so we had the beach to ourselves for most days and even if the beach had people, we were never crowded for space. So lovely. Our only feedback that we shared was there were no table lamps - this only tells me that if you have a younger family, Lolita has thought of EVERYTHING....no lamps to topple onto little heads and she even has electrical outlet covers so little curious fingers don't get zapped. Clean up was easy since we put a kiddie sink outside of the beach stairs where we would rinse off our feet so we didn't track sand inside. I could go on and on. We have played the week out a few times and frankly, we wouldn't change a thing. Truly - It was PERFECT! Thank you again for your hospitality.

Great location!! Well equipped!

Really enjoyed our 10 day vacation. Loved using the kayaks and fishing off the nearby pier! Wonderful having the large screened in porch to relax on and get out of the sun. Home was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lolita was very nice and easy to work with. Would recommend new beds and couches as they were uncomfortable and very dated but overall a great experience!

Wonderful stay!

Neat and clean place. Loved the view and the beach on our doorstep. The screened porch is such a bonus, we basically lived in it. Everything you can imagine you need is already there, stocked kitchen, condiments in the fridge, and a wonderful gas grill that we used often! Lolita is wonderful and accommodating to work with. Saw big fish and manatees right in the bay! Snorkeling was great at Molasses reef!

The Home I Wish Was Mine

Bring your bathing suit. You won't need anything else. Lolita thought of everything! I won't go into details because the list is long. Just read her description. It is truly like visiting family and having full use of all their belongings. The location is fantastic. Right on the beach (which we found out is very rare) and very close to the grocery store and many restaurants. The screened porch with lights, fans, music, tables, and chairs with a perfect view of Tarpon Basin was relaxing and exactly what our family was looking for. I wish I was writing this review from that very spot. The entire property inside and out was very clean, organized, and secure. Everything was in proper working order. Thank you for opening your home up to us. It was very nice to meet you and hopefully we can make it back to visit your beautiful property again someday.

Best Vacation EVER!!!

Even though we had read all of the reviews for Lolita's place on HomeAway, nothing could have prepared us for how perfect it would be for our family. The location was extremely quiet and private, with is having the beach to ourselves most of the time. Being able to sit on the porch and watch our two 3 year olds play on the beach was amazing. We could come in, take a break from the sun, and head right back out. The house itself was spotless and Lolita really thought of every little detail to make her home feel like our home. The kayaks available gave us a chance to paddle out and see some manatees up close, and the beach toys kept my girls entertained for HOURS!! We also enjoyed grilling outside for dinner. This was such a relaxing vacation, thanks to the tranquility and comfort. We stayed over the week of Christmas, so we even opened our Christmas gifts on the porch early Christmas morning- something none of us will ever forget. Thank you, Lolita! Thank you for providing us a home away from home for our dream vacation!

Wonderful! Super attentive owner!

This property is beautiful and SUPER clean (my daughter is a germaphobe and this place passed her standards!) The view is amazing, and the amenities were outstanding. Lolita has literally thought of everything! She was very attentive to our needs and extremely helpful. The area is quiet and laid back; relaxing. We didn't get on the water too much because of high winds the week we were there but we still encountered manatees, dolphins and cool birds. We caught fish and shrimp and basically just enjoyed ourselves. The beach is perfect for small children. We took a drive down to Key West; stopping along the way-super fun! I am gluten intolerant and cooking is a must. Lolita has a wonderfully stocked kitchen & Publix has a good supply of gf items (and everything else) and the Mindful Mermaid Cafe in town is Celiac friendly! (yes, separate fryers and grills!!) My only negative was after using Lolita's washing machine, now I NEED TO BUY ME ONE OF THOSE! ITS HUGE! lol. Thank you Lolita for a great vacation. We hope to come back soon!

2nd Stay perfect as usual!

Another wonderful week spent at Lolita's Beach House. This place is absolutely perfect and has everything you need, Lolita has thought of everything. The beds are super comfortable and the view cannot be beat, I would venture to say it is one of THE best spots in Key Largo. Watching tarpon and dolphin right out front is just one reason to keep coming back to this place, I can't get enough. We plan to be back next year! Thank you again Lolita!

Amazing Vacation!!!

Where should I start? The entire experience was amazing. Working with Lolita (the owner) was easy and great in every aspect. She thought of everything a family would need for a vacation in the keys. This was our family's 5th trip to the keys (we have camped and stayed in condos) and by far this was the best trip. Let's start with the location.....can't find better...right on the beach in Key Largo. The house was great and comfortable. Our family of 6 (kids ages 8,10,13 and 15) had enough room and space. Very well kept and everything you can think of right down to the beach towels. My son actually enjoyed using the deep fryer to make homemade French-fries and onion rings. I really enjoyed cooking on the grill steps from the water. We brought our own kayaks and snorkel gear (but Lolita has snorkel gear, 2 kayaks and fishing gear if you don't). I kayaked around the basin every morning before the rest of the family even woke up, so I could enjoy the sunrise and de-stress (after all that's what vacations are for). The entire family snorkeled, fished, hunted for sea creatures, swam, kayaked and played all just 25 feet from the house! We only left the house a few times during our trip (which was the goal)....we did not want to, nor did we have to load the car up every single day for day-trip activities.... everything was there.....we just walked from the house to the beach/water and when the kids got tired they just went inside for a while and came back out...how nice is that? We actually added another day to our vacation because we didn't want to leave....how's that for a recommendation.....My family had an amazing time and we will definitely be back. Thank You Lolita for opening up your beach house to our family.

Best house in Key Largo

We just got home from our wonderful stay in Key Largo and it was awesome. We were vacationing with our 3 little boys and they asked if we could live there. This house had a big part in making that kind of impression on our kids. It had nearly everything. Seriously we could not believe how well thought out everything was. Lolita has gone above and beyond in providing nearly any toy or tool you could need during your stay. The Keys don't have many beaches but this house is on a small community beach that beat any other beach in Key Largo. It had soft sand and was literally right off the back door. It was clean and well taken care of. The screened in porch was amazing. We ate all our meals there and just lounged if we wanted out of the sun. Also you have to try the fishing. You can catch fish right off the beach then clean them up and grill them right at the house. It' difficult to put into words how perfect the property was for our kids.

Amazing!

Dear Lolita My wife and I enjoyed every moment of the three weeks we spent in Key Largo this past February (2016). Your Beach House was everything that was advertised and more! The enjoyment of our vacation began months before we arrived as I talked to you on the phone and learned so much about your rental and the surrounding area, including some information about favorite restaurants, places to shop for groceries, the wonderful open air fruit and vegetable stand just down the road and of course the fish market. Your rental was so nicely appointed and equipped. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean! It was obvious that you had thought of everything to make our stay a true pleasure! There was nothing lacking from the kitchen thru the dining room and onto the living room. The televisions and the stereo system were all that anyone could ask for at the beach. Our favorite spot was your screened in porch. As we sat there or used the room to eat our meals, we looked out over the sand beach and directly onto the bay. We enjoyed watching the boats go by, the fishermen catching fish off shore and the Manatee along with the Tarpon swimming just off shore. We sat on the beach every day and soaked in the sun. We used your kayaks to paddle the canals and get a more up close and personal view of the Manatee's with their young. I found that if I put my hand in the water they would raise their heads to nudge me into petting their head. What a gentle huge animal! We used the BBQ to cook out most nights we were there and it was great. There was nothing that we wanted that you had not provided for! We never felt bothered or rushed in any way and always found you and Sandy were gracious and caring. I know that our only contact was by phone, we needed nothing more. Any calls that we made (two) were either answered or returned immediately. We do look forward to returning to your Amazing Beach House in the future. The only reason that I am hesitant in giving my true five-star indorsement is that it will encourage others to find and rent this great gem, and it will make it more difficult for those of us who have already experienced it to book reservations in the future. Great Stay - Wonderful Tarpon Bay views front your back-porch!

Our Family of 5 really enjoyed our stay. This modest 3Bed 1BA house with amazing views was perfect and very well appointed clean. The negative review is just not fair and not representative of what the house is like. We have stayed in many other places in other states and this one was just perfect. Lolita (the owner) was available at all times if we needed anything and responded to our couple of questions quickly. The House: Sits on a private sandy community beach which was cleaned every morning by a crew. It is a very cute and well maintained house with everything anyone would need. We were blown away at the wonderful bay views from the back porch and literally 3 steps down from the sandy beach. The house is part of a small community with a mixture of architecture and some more modest than others. The local neighbors were very friendly and the community felt very safe (I went for walks late in the evening and only saw a raccoon). Everything in the owner's description is accurate. It was 90 degrees with the heat index most days and great weather. The A/C works very well and the house has a ceiling fan in every room. The best hang out was the very large covered and screened in back porch with tons of sitting furniture not to mention the multi-million dollar view of the beach and bay. The Area: Plenty to do in the area, from national parks, fishing, biking, snorkeling, etc... We had a rainy day and decided to go see Star Wars - movie theater is 15min away. Great opened fruit and veggie market - food trucks half mile away. Publix is at about same distance away from house. Just plain convenient. Amenities: 2 kayaks, plenty of life jackets, about 15 fishing poles, tons of beach towels, you name it, they have it! Separate washer/dryer for beach towels! Outdoor shower. fully equipped kitchen with all the small appliances you could think of (even a smoothie machine!). Please note that everything is super organized! We were actually amazed at how everything was so organized. You will understand when you stay there. Space is used very efficiently. Very large walk-in tiled shower in bathroom. Very nice and large gas weber grill. We would definitely recommend Lolita's wonderful piece of heaven to anyone! Loved it! Thank you!

My love for the water and meeting people from all around the world has brought me great joy! Even though I do rent out the Beach House, I still use it myself! I would love for you to enjoy it as much as I do. I really enjoy eating out on my porch and relaxing with a book in my hand while watching the boats at a distance, dolphins out on the water and all of the nature. I also enjoy taking out our kayaks and rowing over to a natural lagoon where they train and let you swim with the dolphins.

Why they chose this property

Because of my love of the water, I wanted to find a place to raise my boys and to enjoy family weekends. My Beach House is right on the water with an incredible view! We have made wonderful memories here and hope you do too!

What makes this property unique

Close to grocery store, many good restaurants, John Pennekamp State Park that has many amenities like the glass bottom boat (where you could see the statue of Christ), snorkeling, scuba diving, and hiking trials. We also are close to the charter boats that take you deep sea fishing and near parasailing, and near Jacob's Aquatic Center.
