All Good In The Woods

Escape the everyday grind and enjoy a visit to our woodland retreat in Medford, Wisconsin. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home sleeps 6 and is situated on 25 wooded acres which includes a pond. Walk right out the door and follow our hiking trail loop in the woods for a little exercise or just to be closer to nature. Snowmobilers will enjoy the close proximity to the Taylor County Snowmobile Trails system which is accessible down the street approximately 1200 feet. Fisherman will enjoy the accessibility to fishing lakes including Sackett Lake with its public access also only 1200 feet away. Regardless of the season there is plenty to do in the area including:

Sackett Lake, 5 HP electric motor only lake with public beach, swimming, kayaking 1200 feet from house
Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Ice Age Trail one of many hiking trailheads with parking 5 miles away
Mondeaux Flowage Recreation Area 10 miles away
Perkinstown XC ski trail 12 miles away
Perkinstown Winter Sports/Sledding Area 12 miles away
Taylor County Snowmobiling and ATV Trails trail access 1200 feet from house
SxS and 4 wheelers are legal on most roads in Taylor county


Our home has a master bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom. On the opposite side of the house are two more bedrooms that share a full bathroom. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third bedroom has 2 twin beds.

The kitchen is well equipped with the tools you will need to make meals at home along with a dining table that seats 6 and a breakfast bar that also seats 6, but keep in mind that The High View Inn is a dinner clubs just a 5 minute drive from the house and 64 North Bar and Grill is 8 minutes away. For food shopping the town of Medford is a 15 minute drive which includes Country Market, Walmart and Kwik Trip. Downtown Medford offers plenty of shopping and restaurants to please most people.

We offer access to our garage which is detached from the house and there is room to park one car inside. The fireplace inside our home is currently inoperative.

Parties and events at our home are not allowed nor are fireworks or the shooting of guns.

This is a very large home with two living areas and a nice sized deck. We liked that it was very close to Sackett Lake, a short and mostly shady walk! Hot in Medford, we visited late in July, but the air conditioning in the house kept it comfortable. The house was very clean and the bed linens were soft with smooth sheets. Also, we appreciated the summertime layers and noticed extra blankets in the closet in case you visit during cooler weather.The water was smelly, both hot and cold, a sulfur smell? We bought bottled water, which is pretty much the norm when we travel, anyways. We would visit again.

Thank you for your kind review. We are happy you and your family were comfortable in your stay in our north woods getaway. We apologize for the odor of the water. We would love for the water in our home to be odorless but even after softening and filtering it the odor remains. Our water test shows exceptionally good quality but many of us are not accustomed to the odor. When you visit again, try the water in the 5 gallon containers we have available. The water is sourced from the Mondeaux Glacial Spring (10 miles away) and is wonderful.

Good location for hiking the IAT

Great living space for two couples. Enjoyed watching the deer around the pond each night. Quiet country location but close enough to several very good restaurants. Home was very comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Excellent experience and beautiful property

Everything about our experience was great! The property manager was very friendly and quick to respond to any of our questions both prior to our trip and during. The check in and check out process was quick and easy. The property was very clean and fully stocked with anything we needed. We very much enjoyed having the pond and seeing the deer that came by daily!

Absolutely AWESOME!!!!

Truly amazing! This place has its' own pond! So much wildlife activity--like the description says "all good in the woods" is completely accurate! The check-in/check out process was seamless, the place was clean and had everything we needed or wanted. If you are looking for quiet, cozy, well appointed remote getaway, yet close to everything, then this is it. Thank you for making it one of the best, most relaxing stays I have had in a long time.
