Great house and location. Stayed at the house with family 6 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room and very comfortable beds. Hot tub and fire pit were great . Walking to the kayak put in was a bit of a challenge with small children. Whale rock was awesome.
Stayed here for a few nights with friends and our collective 4 young kids. This house had everything we could have wanted. Great location...super close to skiing! Beds were comfy, house was spotless, living room with fireplace was cozy. We would absolutely stay here again!
We stayed at Bryant Pond over Christmas break and into the New Year. The property was beautiful and fit our group of 14 perfectly. The house feels clean and is close enough to Sunday River to be able to easily enjoy the mountain daily. We had a few Nordic skiers in our group as well. Unfortunately there was not enough snow, but we were able to check out Carters cross country ski area. It is close by as well and we spent time walking the trails, it’s a beautiful spot.
As for the property, you will not be disappointed. I have to highlight the bed situation. I have never been to a VRBO property that provides such quality bedding. The quality of the bedding is often overlooked, but this property has the most comfortable pillows on each bed, super soft cozy sheets, and a mattress bad that makes you feel as though your on a cloud. Not to mention the warm/comfy comforter. The upstairs bedroom that sleeps 5-6 does get warm. You need to keep the heat’s way low in the house to avoid uncomfortable heat up there. It took us one night to figure out, then we were all sleeping well.
The hot tub is wonderful. Great ambiance with strong lights around. The host asked that you sanitize the hot tub after every use. This sounds tedious, but they provide small Tupperware containers filled with what you need. This makes it super easy to comply with this request. And it also helps you feel the hot tub is clean👍.
I ran out of room…it’s a great choice!
Cozy and relaxing staying. Hot Tub is a nice way to relax after hiking. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare and cook some wonderful meals. ~Donavan and Pam
Aqeel and Michelle's house is gorgeous. We went with a pretty large group and there was room for all. Everything was there that you need to enjoy your trip. The hot tub was so relaxing; the kitchen offered everything you needed to cook some delicious family meals. It was so clean and airy as well. Take advantage of the pond around the corner and whale rock - so fun. I would highly recommend this beautiful house in this beautiful area.
Aqeel & Michelle's hom was the perfect base for a few days at Sunday River for February break. We had 2 families (4 adults, 5 kids) and the house felt cozy when we all sat in the great room eating dinner but was also spacious enough with the game room and upstairs bedroom for everyone to have their own space to recharge after a day skiing. Home was well appointed, communication with Aqeel and Michelle was easy and they responded to messages very promptly. Relaxing in the hot tub with a fire in the pit and snow coming down was a memory we won't soon forget!
Owners were very responsive and proactive with communications before and during our stay. House is a 5 minute drive from Mt. Abrams and a 20 minute drive from Sunday River. Large mudroom is perfect for all the ski gear and upstairs living space is comfortable and cozy.
We (5 adults, 2 little kiddos) stayed here for a long ski weekend. Mt Abram is just minutes away and proved excellent for our novice snowboarders, as well as some "getting back on the slopes" adults. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed especially for cooking big meals. The beds were so comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Plenty of games downstairs, although we were too busy to spend much time with them. The hot tub was enjoyed by young and old alike. We had brought lots of firewood for the fire pit and after digging it out from under a couple feet of snow had a nice warm spot to end our busy days. This was a great place - would love to come again!
We stayed here for a family wedding. The location and proximity to Mt Abram and Bethel is perfect. The owners were both accommodating and available to answer questions as well as making sure we had everything we needed.
Our stay was a great as it always is- the property has a great layout for a large group. It is near Bethel if you need anything, but we mostly just relaxed on the property or hit the trails nearby.
The property is in a perfect location where you're away from the loud cities but still close enough to what you need that it's not an issue. Beautiful home exactly as described in the listing. We'll probably be back again!
We loved staying at this property. There were fourteen of us, and this house accommodated us all very comfortably. The property was fully stocked, from the kitchens to the bathrooms to the linen in the bedrooms, the only thing we needed to bring was our clothes and beach towels. The hosts were amazing, checking in to be sure all was okay. We had a hard time leaving this amazing property, we plan to go back in the future.
This property was advertised properly, the kitchen is well stocked, location is beautiful, and the extra fridge downstairs was a must for the four couples for extra food and drink storage. Beds were comfortable, hot tub was well maintained and the fire pit was a nice gathering place. The only thing that was a little off was the foosball table was in desperate need of repair as one of the men were missing. Also if considering renting the kayaks be in good shape. After dragging the kayaks up to the launch area we were too tired to use them. If you do rent them talk to the lady that lives on the end off the road to the right as she will let you store the kayaks there which makes them much more enjoyable, we didn't know this until we were leaving though. Over all it was a great stay and we enjoyed ourselves.
This was the first extended family vacation we’ve taken with our adult kids and grandchildren. We enjoyed each family cooking something wonderful for all of us. Well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. It was nice to have separate living areas to accommodate the family with a toddler
The Woodstock cabin was a phenomenal reservation and vacation spot! Aqeel was a great Host and we contacted back and forth on multiple occasions for assistance, extremely positive, optimistic and wanted to make sure my family and I were comfortable in a home away from home! A wonderful experience and Will be going back many more times!!
My wife and I really enjoyed our honeymoon getaway in this cabin. It had everything we needed and definitely away from “city life”. Michelle and Aqeel were wonderful hosts and super responsive and provided a ton of information. The cabin felt warm and cozy. The balcony was great to sit out on and look at the environment. The hot tub was definitely a huge bonus along with the fire pit. Super easy to navigate to the small town of Bethel. If you are looking to sleep in, cook inside, relax at a property without feeling like you are needing to do something, this is the place to go. We will definitely keep this place in mind if we decide to visit Maine again. Most likely to experience a winter wonderland.
We stayed here last year and will definitely be back again next year. Perfect cabin for a Sunday River Ski vacation. Spacious and comfortable with a hot tub to boot! Aqeel and Michelle are great hosts-
We enjoyed our family ski getaway. The property was clean and accommodating for a large family. The house was perfect for sharing dinners together, playing games at the big farm style table and the kids enjoyed the foosball table. The house was within 20 mins of Sunday River and an easy commute. We would definitely recommend this location.
The chalet was beautiful! Interior woodwork was amazing! Kitchen was VERY well stocked with everything you needed (except food of course). Nice that the lock to outside automatically engaged after a couple of minutes just in case we forgot to lock it ourselves. Beds were extremely comfortable and great to have washer & dryer so no dirty clothes to take home. Hot tub was great to relax in. Only one minor thing and it did NOT affect our rating whatsoever....the sectional in the living room might need an update. The springs appear to be worn out underneath? But other than that it was wonderful. The owners checked in with us when we arrived to make sure everything was good and responded quickly to any of our questions. One of my friends was thinking about reserving it next year! Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

About the host

We first fell in love with the Sunday River area of Maine in 2011 during a family ski trip. When we had a chance to come back the following year in late summer for some hiking and were amazed at how much Maine had to offer. In 2014 we decided that Western Maine would be a wonderful place to have our own cabin so that our children would have a chance to experience the amazing array of outdoor activities that the area we had to offer. We hope you will enjoy our cabin as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
This Chalet offered the best of both worlds. Being less than 20 minutes away from Sunday River ensured that world class skiing was always close by. And by being so close to the water we would have a chance to kayak and fish as much as we wanted. We feel extremely lucky to have found this home.
What makes this property unique
Being so close to North Pond, our guests can walk out of the home and be on the water in mere minutes. There are also amazing hiking trails waiting to be explored. During winter months, a short car ride and you are at the base of the best ski resort on the east coast, Sunday River. After a day filled with fun, the fire pit and hot tub outside welcome you to sit, relax, and plan the next days adventures.
