About this property
Charming Rustic Cabin Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior View
"This is the kind of hidden gem that you want to keep quiet about, so it's available when you want to go back. I've stayed here twice and am already planning a third trip. The location is awesome and there are lots of nearby beauties to explore. The owner is great and you feel the hospitality in the cabin." Reviewed a Repeat Guest
I couldn't have said it better myself!
Charming rustic cabin just across the street from scenic Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior. Watch freighters passing in-route to Soo Locks. Full public access with beautiful beach. Situated on the Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior Scenic Byway Lakeshore Drive. Updates every year to improve the cabin comfort, recently added Water Softener to improve water condition and cleanliness and new shower stall. One bedroom with full bed, single bed nook, fold down sofa bed and room for cots. Sleeps 4 or 5 with cots. Campfire pit, hiking, access to inland Monocle Lake, most sightseeing attractions within an hour drive. Wood/cedar interior, wood burning stove, electric baseboard heat, full kitchen, shower stall & bathtub, washer & dryer. No WiFi or Cable TV connection in the cabin, for your break away from media saturation. Free WiFi 3 miles east at local restaurants. DVD TV and VHS TV with movies for rainy days and quiet evenings or just playing a card game around the vintage kitchen table or roasting marshmallows around the campfire pit.
We have a relaxed refund policy for convenience in booking and since we have a four (4) night minimum, when booking, please be mindful to leave a minimum 4 nights between your booking and the previous guest booking. Anything less than 4 nights becomes unbookable for us and a significant loss of revenues.
Less than 4 night bookings are not cost effective turnovers for cleaning and maintenance, therefore we have a 4 night minimum booking standard.

About the host
Hosted by Doreen Pavlik

We purchased this property in 2003 as an interim destination until, and while, we built our waterfront dream cabin in 2013 nearby. We loved every minute of our stay in this little rustic cabin. We purchased waterfront in 1994 with the dream of building on it, but until that was possible, we enjoyed this little cabin. We have developed a love for the beauty and rustic feel of the UP. This little cabin has the feel of waterfront, the smell of waterfront, the sound of waterfront, and a partial view like waterfront....but just walk to the west end of the property and cross the street to the public access. It's our joy to offer a stay for your relaxation and break from the media saturated world around you and retreat to a slower pace, with campfires, beach walks, hiking, swimming and many fun filled day trips.
Why they chose this property
This property is a break from the fast pace media saturated world. No in house internet access, but locally available, no cable TV, limited local stations with a VHS video player, totally "old school" complete with a selection of movies and DVD equipped flat screen TV in main seating area. Bring your own DVD movies or watch one of ours supplied. It's our hope that our guests will be so busy enjoying the outdoor beauty, day trips and playing games with family that media won't be necessary except for a nice cup of coffee at the Dancing Crane Coffee Shop to "check up" on your Facebook or emails with their free WiFi access just 3 miles east down Lakeshore Dr. The smell of real firewood burning in the wood stove touches off the rustic ambiance of those cool UP evenings or a campfire with marshmallows roasting or hot dogs lightly charred!
What makes this property unique
Watching freighters passing on their way through to the Soo Locks and on to the St.Lawrence Seaway. Breathtaking sunsets and beautiful "public" beach that only the locals know about right across the street, long walks on the beach and the beautiful vintage Point Iroquois Lighthouse just a short walk down the beach is a destination in itself.
