The private dock gives you direct access to Monocle Lake—calm, shallow at the edge, and ideal for swimming, kayaking/paddleboarding, fishing, boating, and personal watercraft. After a day on the water, gather around the lakeside fire pit for s’mores and stargazing.
The separate bunkhouse is a guest favorite, especially for kids and teens. It sleeps six with twin bunk beds, sofa, a small kitchenette, full bath, and living area with smart TV. It’s like your own private summer camp retreat—just steps from the main house and the lake.
Hike/Bike trails start from property through campground, 3 public beaches including Lake Superior, and Mission Hill Overlook
Located just 20 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie and near Hiawatha National Forest, you’ll have easy access to hiking trails, waterfalls, and Lake Superior day trips—yet still feel off the grid.

Why they chose this property
Monocle Lake is the most beautiful inland lake in the Eastern U.P of Michigan with full access to multiple hike/bike trails around the lake and surrounding area. Most days I enjoy fishing on my paddle board or golfing at the Wild Bluff a short drive away.
A half a mile walk or drive to a Lake Superior public beach to spend the day, a quick swim/hike along the sandy beach, and amazing sunsets. A true hidden gem to exceed your expectations
