We are so happy to have stumbled into this property!! Looking for an overnight on a long road trip, we could not have found better. The neighborhood is fantastic - the architecture, the local landmarks, and the ease of getting everywhere you want to be, are all terrific. The house is welcoming, with a very well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and eye-catching accent wallpapers in every room. Very recently renovated, you still feel a sense of timeless charm. The drive in, along the August Nat'l Golf Club, past the Summerville Campus of Augusta University, and through some spectacular antebellum homes was awe-inspiring and conjured visions of historical romance, enhanced by the spectacle of a Marine Corps wedding at the Partridge Inn. The French Market Grille at 399 Highland Ave has great Cajun cuisine and deserts. Try the bread pudding! On any given evening, a stroll down the riverwalk and across the Freedom (pedestrian) bridge is great for digestion. Time that right to catch the sunset upriver behind the railroad bridge - breathtaking. Do be sure to check out all the sculptures along the path.Broad Street, is a nod to the history of the town, but home to many current dining and entertainment venues. At its heart, Augusta Common was full of tents during our visit, all set up for the Augusta Captains Seafood Festival.Talk to locals about Masters' week's impact ont he local economy and decide if that is for you, but go to Augusta and stay in this Charmer!
