About this property
Lopez Legacy Lodge overlooking the beautiful San Juan waters!
Lopez Legacy Lodge was modeled after the rustic National Park Lodges of the 1930s. Constructed with heavy timber beams recovered from a turn of the century warehouse. Two massive chimneys serve to anchor the space and support the structure as well as providing flues for the lodges 7 fireplaces. Each bedroom was designed to capture the water view and each follows a unique theme. The 6 bedroom themes are designed to capture anyone's interest. The kitchen is a chefs dream with 3 ovens, 8 propane burners, griddle, large fridge, warming drawer and 2 subzero drawers. In addition an outside BBQ area complete with a sink, warming drawer, Traeger, and propane grill. Upstairs you will find a large entertainment room with a kitchenette, sectional couch, big screen tv and a massage chair for your relaxation after your kayak adventure. You will also find a small library with reading nooks for your enjoyment, with board games under the library bench seat.
The Lodge is nestled in the woods and is part of a 33 acre estate that has been in the family since 1946. Explore trails through the woods, and end up at a huge swimming pond for an afternoon swim.
Kayaks are available close to the private beach for your enjoyment. You will also find picnic tables, a BBQ, and a fire ring for a late night beach fire.
Other activities on property include a large field with field games available, a row boat to rent for those who want to try their luck at fishing, paddle boarding in the swimming pond, roasting sticks to enjoy hotdogs and marshmallow over open fires.
There are 2 additional small cabins on the property that are available to rent for larger groups.
The small island off shore is home to Harbor Seals in the spring and summer. Bring your binoculars to watch the new born pups, and Eagles that soar over the island looking for their next meal.
This property has been a gathering place for our family for generations. We love it and love to share the experience that you will find on the property and at LOPEZ LEGACY LODGE.

My wife and I invited a few friends and family to stay at the lodge, and we were married outside on the lawn looking out at the water and Mt Baker. The lodge is truly amazing, with the themed rooms, incredible construction, beautiful windows and huge kitchen. Everyone had a great stay, and Diane and Mike were great hosts. They had great communication leading up to the stay, and met us at check-in, and even drove to the ferry line to return a jacket we left behind. This is a very special place and they were very welcoming.
A Breathtaking Retreat: Unmatched Luxury and Unforgettable Memories
Our stay at this stunning 10,000 sq ft lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sheer grandeur and meticulous attention to detail in every corner of this property. Nestled overlooking the serene Lopez Sound, the lodge offers an unparalleled blend of luxury and comfort.
With seven beautifully crafted fireplaces, each fully stocked with wood and ready to be lit, the ambiance is perfect for cozy evenings. The property’s expansive outdoor space provides endless opportunities for adventure—whether it’s kayaking on the sound, crabbing, or even taking a refreshing swim in the freshwater pool.
We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday here with our family, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The experience was made even more special by the incredibly thoughtful owners who ensured every detail was taken care of. This is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience to cherish. Highly, highly recommend!"
