Idyllic, secluded setting for a quiet getaway from the City. Main house (1500 sf) has two bedrooms with king & queen size beds, kitchen, two full, completely renovated bathrooms. Den has pullout couch with queen mattress. Pool cottage (1500 sf) includes kitchenette, recreation room, screened patio, full bath, large tv room and area to spread out. The house has central air; the cottage has window air conditioning. New gas grill, beautiful new pool and "cool to touch" stone deck for private sunning. Wooded lots on three sides, with 6 foot fence around the entire back yard. Bocci Court, Ping Pong table and inside games for rainy days and quiet evenings. Large screen TVs with access to your Netflix, Hulu, etc. accounts - TV in the den has most cable channels. Kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, flatware, pots and pans, etc. Bath and pool towels, sheets, etc. all provided. Perfect for family or three couples. Three minute walk to private beach in one direction. Five minute walk to a full service marina in the other direction. 90 minutes from Manhattan, but a world away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect spot to relax, spend time with family and friends and enjoy life the way it was meant to be. Enjoy the dozens of North Fork wineries within an easy drive. Minimum two-week stay required by the Southold Township.

Fantastic North Fork Escape

The check-in process and communication couldn't have been easier. The property was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Conveniently located a walkable distance from Love Lane and a short drive from wineries (which is what brought us to the area)

Accommodating hosts

The hosts were very accommodating and adjusted arrival and departure times to meet our needs. In part, I think that our coming during a less popular time of year made this possible. Also, they answered all our questions promptly.

Lovely Stay

We had a really nice time at the Barnes' property. There are two bedrooms with two bathrooms in the main house. Just as a warning, the bed in one of the rooms is extremely high, but there is a step stool for getting in and out. The kitchen is well stocked. The second bathroom is off the kitchen. We had everything we needed and the owners were very responsive. My son stayed in the cottage with a space heater, but it was really too cold for this time of year. He could have used a few more blankets. My only minor complaint was there were no bars of soap for showering anywhere. Bring your own.Otherwise, it was a perfect stay and we will probably stay there again for the next family event.

This is a wonderful property. Very clean, enjoyable backyard with plenty of space and nice pool. The cottage is adorable and a great bonus space. Sean and Colleen are great hosts, very responsive.

Labor Day Perfect Weekend

This spot is where you want to be if you love the chill North Fork vibe and small town feelings from Mattituck to Orient Point. We will be back- actually we wish we were still there!! :)

Family get together

It was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy our little family reunion. The pool wasn’t open yet, and the weather was a little chilly, but the spacious back deck was a great place to gather for an afternoon glass of wine. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach area on the bay and less than a 5 minute drive to a grocery store, drug store, restaurants, and more.

Ultimate staycation

Although only 90 minutes from the city, Shawn and Colleen's home felt like an oasis many miles away. Our family ranges in age from 4 to 75 and we were able to hang out together comfortably to bbq or watch a movie, or spread out for a bit of quiet time (or a nap). The pool was also a life saver during a late summer heat wave. We can't wait to return next year!

Beautiful house, lots of space, and really close to the center of Mattituck

We had a wonderful time staying at the house! Great common spaces, lots of places for people to sleep, great kitchen with lots of cutlery, and it was really conveniently located near the center of Mattituck. One slight inconvenience was that there wasn’t heat for the cottage (no fuel), and so it was a bit chilly at night, but definitely manageable. Definitely recommend others to stay at this house!
