(4BR, 3.5 BA,1K / 2Q / 2T, Sleeps 8, 2 Golf Carts, Pet Friendly, Saturday Turn in Peak Season, CHECK OUT 10:30AM / CHECK IN 4:30PM) A Soft Landing is a fantastic four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom oceanfront retreat that's dog friendly! (Dogs allowed for an additional $300/dog nonrefundable pet fee.) Revel in A Soft Landing's warm breezes, listening to the sounds of the waves and soaking in unobstructed ocean views. The sun worshippers in your group will be in heaven on the expansive second-story deck that runs the length of the house. Under this area are both a covered porch (perfect for rocking or napping) and a screened porch. Inside, the light-filled, two-story sitting area is accentuated by soaring ceilings and warm hardwoods.

Nearby, the open floorplan's dining area comfortably seats eight at its table and is adjacent to the breakfast bar. Just beyond, the chef's kitchen cooks with stainless appliances, plenty of counter prep space, a farm sink and a wine cooler. It even boasts water views on two sides! The bright King Master suite, located on this level, features a four-poster King bed and private porch access as well as an unbeatable view of the Atlantic. The private full bath affords a deep, jetted sunken Jacuzzi and a spacious tiled shower with bench seating.

There are three additional bedrooms upstairs. One is a Queen suite with its own full bath, private sitting room and deck access. The second Queen bedroom also features private deck access. The final bedroom is furnished with two twin beds. The latter two bedrooms share a bath, conveniently located just across the hall. Additional amenities included are games, DVDs/ CDs / VHS movies, toys, a gas grill, an outdoor shower, boogie boards, beach chairs, adult bikes, internet access and WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends. . Wonderful

Such a beautiful home. Filled with lovely tiles throughout the house and the owners artwork made this home so enjoyable. It was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 4 children. Plenty of room for everyone.

We LOVED a Soft Landing!

This home was perfect for our family! The bright interior and comfortable furniture made for a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed the screened in porch for nightly dinners and spent lots of time on the covered porch during the day and night! Having a direct beach access was also a treat. Our only complaint would be the beach chairs. We had 3 men that were over 6 ft and the beach chairs were made for very small people. Would definitely stay a A Soft Landing again! Thank you so much!

Location

The best thing this place has going for it is the location. Every listed amenity is in a state of near disrepair - upstairs shower leaks, no mirror in bathroom, needed pliers to turn on the grill, and 6-seater golf cart had battery issues. On top of that, there were cockroaches everywhere - we have stayed on island multiple times and this is the first instance we have had any trouble with roaches. We even found one in our luggage once we got home - good thing we unpacked in the garage as a precaution! For the money we paid I am disappointed.

Several Issues, Could Have Been Better

The location of the house was superb. The house needs some attention. There were Palmetto bugs everywhere in the kitchen, including inside the cabinets. There were no wine glasses and very few glasses to speak of just a random assortment of very few glasses in those that were there were quite dirty many of the dishes and pots and pans were dirty. We pulled out four or five beach chairs that were completely torn and dilapidated we left them out so you could throw them away. There is no mirror in one of the upstairs bathrooms. There is a space for a mirror above the sink, but it's been removed so there's just a blank wall. There is no space to store food in any of the cabinets. The cabinets are just organized and a little bit junkie looking when you open them. I know how conscientious you guys are so I thought you would appreciate getting this feedback. Normally we have never encountered these issues with Wendy Wilmont.

What an Amazing View

Love all of the natural light. The home is pretty well equipped with bikes, two golf carts, and very spacious bedrooms. So great to be able to walk out to the beach, straight from the back deck, The lounge chairs were a nice inviting, touch. The home needs a couple small improvements (TVs, Roku, toilets, cabinets, cart maintenance, hot water heater, broken window) but 9 out of 10 for a rental. We will definitely stay here again and we thank wwp for always making our stay special!

In addition to a beautifully decorated home filled with the homeowner’s artwork, the location was outstanding and the home’s cleanliness exceeded our expectations. It is the little touches,however, that were just as impressive - from the filled rotating spice rack in the kitchen filled with every spice you could possibly need to the upstairs coffee station with a Keurig and a mini fridge so that you didn’t even need to come downstairs for your morning coffee, it was obvious that the homeowners put a lot of thought into making their home a special place. A 5 star rental for sure.

The interior has always been lovely, but the updated look is especially nice. It distinguishes itself by the lovely, professionally designed interior. The new golf carts are so very appreciated as well. Finally, I don’t know what is responsible for the better temperature in the primary bedroom, but sleeping there was so comfortable. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable. In fact, I slept better there than I do at home! Finally, this was the cleanest we have ever found the property. The cleaners did an excellent job.

A wonderful week at A Soft Landing - one we hope to repeat!

Reviewer Comments: This was a our third summer in a row on the island and the best one yet - we loved A Soft Landing and found it to be very comfortable and well suited for our family. The back deck, beach access and screened in dining space were particular highlights. The only significant issue we had with our stay were the golf carts. The four seater cart only had two seatbelts - one for the driver and one in the back, which made it nearly unusable for us as we had two small children with us who had to be buckled in at all times. The six seater cart was very slow and also the battery, even when fully charged overnight, wouldn't last more than an hour before the light came on, causing us to have to return home from our outings when we had intended to stay out. We really want to return next year and rent this home again but would have a difficult time doing so if the golf cart issue isn't resolved. It is the only reason I gave four stars below. Otherwise this is a special spot which we were grateful to call home!

The property was fine though some of the outdoor furniture needs repair and replacement The furnishings were lovely and the setting on the beach was great. The golf carts needed repair but the repairperson was excellent and very prompt. The assistant who was assigned to us was also excellent. We had several unanticipated interruptions by the management staff--one unannounced entry into our home was very upsetting--but when we needed assistance otherwise, they were prompt. I will probably not rent from this group again but the home itself was fine.

There was a storm one evening and we sat on that wonderful porch and watched God show off for hours. It was amazing! The kitchen is well stocked and there is a huge kitchen table where we had wonderful meals at night. We had a few issues with the golf carts. Wendy Wilmonts staff was very attentive and had it fixed promptly. The location of this house is great. It is on the middle of the island so accessing East beach, the market, and the ferry was very convenient. We ate out a few times and we’re not impressed with the quality or price of our meals. We have been coming to BHI for 15 years and the inflation was quite evident. I will bring more food from home next year. Overall, I highly recommend A Soft Landing!!

Such a great property

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we have stayed at "A Soft Landing." The location cannot be beat with the beach a short walk away. Gorgeous sunset views and a beautiful back porch and deck for lounging. Nicely appointed property , especially the deck furniture and screened in porch for dinners accompanied by the sound of the waves. The property was slightly less clean and ship-shape as it was the first time we rented. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, it just felt as though the floor - especially the pretty tile floor - hadn't had a good scrub in a while. The back door handle was constantly falling off and a stripped screw made it impossible to fix. In addition, the coffee pot was severely cracked and unusable. There was a backup pod coffee maker, but we would have preferred to make a pot of coffee in the morning. All in all, we love this property and would rent it again and again.The bedrooms are perfect for a family or two and the beds and linens are all very nice. I think it just needed a better pre-arrival floor cleaning and attention to the details.

Good space. Inside lacking

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good space. However, many things lacking for what would be expected in a 10,000$ rental. Kitchen appliances and dishes etc are very haphazard and unorganized. Many dirty. Only 7 forks supplied. Need a full silverware count. TVs worked ok but were basic and sound was poor especially in the main living area. Water pressure was very low and water temperature was Luke warm for showers. Reports there were beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys in listing. But on arrival only two beach chairs were not ripped at the seat. Boogie boards only one was useful the other was coming apart on the edges and cord was broken off. No beach or sand toys. I filled out a request on our first day to ask for additional beach items and no one responded. Dishwasher did not clean well even with pre cleaning the dishes in sink and we used the heavy clean setting. Washer would stop halfway through the cycle and then you hard to restart it. Overall a good location and good space in the house but would not rent again due to inside amenities lacking. This rental needs some help inside.

Whirlwind Vacation-----

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I want this review to be both fair and objective. This home is probably at one of the best locations on the island at South Beach. The views are spectacular and the beach is 200 steps from the home, accessed by a large walkway.This home was recently purchased and is undergoing some renovation. There was a wood pile at the front of the house and some nails along the side of the house. The group before us was delayed by lost jewelry so we did not get in the house on time. The kitchen had dirty dishes in the cabinets, the dishwasher would not close properly to wash dishes, and the refrigerator was leaking some water. A toaster was used the grill some cheese and when we used it, it began to smoke. The air conditioner needed to be repaired as it froze over. Now, to the good news. All these items were addressed by Wendy Wilmot and her gang in a prompt and professional manner. The cleaning staff that came back in, namely Rebecca, was very polite professional and apologetic. We also had a golf cart issue with the brakes on the cart Thunder Road which had to be repaired. We also had a flat on another cart we rented. The folks who handle the maintenance are polite and speedy. They had my flat fixed and cart returned in 30 minutes from the time I called them. I hear, and hope, that the kitchen will in fact be renovated over the winter. If it is, it will add some much to the great and expansive living area. This house is one of the more pricier ones on the island and I have a sense the owner will continue to improve it so that it does merit the cost being charged for the week. I am grateful to both Wendy and the owner for their help and professionalism in resolving all issues. Now you can see why overall we were very satisfied with this property. To the owner, if you renovate the kitchen, Katherine, our five boys, and King Tate our pup, will be back next June!!!! Thanks, Bill Hart
