About this property
Dory House
Located on a quiet dead end street with beautiful views, and your own boat dock on a canal connecting to the Nestucca River. Kayak and Paddleboard from your backyard, roast mallows around the fire pit, BBQ, and relax away from the busy cookie cutter corporate places in town. Deer are on the property daily, and Eagles overhead. Short walk to restaurants, bar, river, and beach. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, new TV, wifi, large great room, and wraparound deck for a relaxing stay.
The space
The entire upstairs is your private living space, accessed by stairs leading up to the wraparound deck. Down stairs in the outdoor area there is a sand area with a fire pit and chairs, and a BBQ. There is a ramp leading down to a private boat dock on a canal system leading to the Nestucca River. The canal is not suitable for swimming, and mainly has small shiner perch if you're curious about fishing. The Nestucca River has Salmon, Steelhead and Cutthroat trout depending on time of year. We have 4 paddle boards and lifejackets available by request. The river and the canal are tidally influenced and could be quite deep, or at low tide completely dry and muddy. The main river can be very windy especially in the afternoon. Please be aware of these dynamics and utilize the river at your own risk. The downstairs is all garage, and is not part of the rental. I operate a fishing guide service and store my boat under the carport shown in the main picture. Most days I will be by briefly in the morning to pick up the boat usually around 6am. I do my best to be quiet but if you're a light sleeper hoping to sleep in please be aware of this before booking. I don't work every day but my schedule is at the mercy of the ocean conditions and impossible to predict. I return with the boat after fishing in the early afternoon to the carport area to filet fish, cook crab, and clean the boat. This takes about 2 hrs.
