Location was excellent! The barn was great the property was beautiful. We loved the pond but were disappointed about having to drive there daily and walk up a steep hill while carrying kayaks. The worst part was NO Air conditioning! We made do and had a nice time there.
It was a comfortable home with numerous sleeping accomodations
My grandkids enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes
They loved the abundance of frogs in the yard and especially enjoyed the crocodile
The owner was very accessible by email and readily available to answer questions
This property was wonderfully laid out and set up. We had so many options between playing games in the barn, having a fire outside, or just having a nice dinner together inside at the large dining room tables. My guests and I also had a lot of fun discovering new decorations in the house. Everyday we noticed something new we hadn't noticed the day before.
We had many grandchildren with us on this stay, and there was SO much for them to do. We enjoyed fishing in the pond, campfire beside a beautiful stream, pool and ping pong in the barn, tag in the huge yard, basketball, riding scooters on the driveway, and playing with the many inside toys and games. The kitchen is very well-stocked. Lots of comfortable seating. Beautiful fireplace. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property.
Overall this was exactly what we were looking for! The house was on a 40-acre property, but the house was just off the road - easily accessible. Definitely want to come prepared because the nearest store/gas station was about 15 minutes away. The property was open and beautiful - lots of games and activities to do! Noreen was very responsive and helpful. Can't wait to stay again!
There were 10 of us and there were plenty of chairs, tables, dishes, whatever we needed. The 20-somethings loved the pool table. The dog loved the creek. I marveled at the amazing yard with a frog pond, bonfire pit, and hidden tables here and there. Since I maintain a half acre yard, I was impressed with all the weed-free flowers, flowers in containers (I would never water), the spotless birdbath, and the freshly mown lawn with about 30 chairs and two picnic tables placed on it. Everything inside was clean and neat. There is a lot of stuff. Some people found it fascinating. I would definitely go here again.
This property is absolutely gorgeous! So much space and a perfect home away from home.
The hosts were quick to respond to any questions that we had. Lots of indoor and outdoor spaces. The only drawback was the lack of cell service, but the wifi helped with that problem. This is a great spot for a family to stay.
Very comfortable and cozy place to get away to. Close to snowmobile trails, skiing and short drive to surrounding Villages. Hosts were fantastic to work with and we would go back again. The home can accommodate 4 couples comfortably and privately.

Family trip
Great location, large lodge, tons of character. The kids loved the frog pond, Bon fires & game barn. Too bad it had Cobwebs everywhere inside, table & kitchen sticky. It would be better to have no sheets on beds. Not COVID ready.
Had to clean before able to enjoy.
The Sugar Lodge is a beautiful site, as said in the description. The lawn with an abundance of seating areas, we took full advantage of as it was a perfect weather weekend. Our dog had a wonderful time running and playing in the yard. The barn was great for pool and ping pong between our sons. The location was just as described, near Bemus Point, and the pond, although we did not swim was a lovely spot.
It is clear when entering the lodge, that it is a home away from home for the family. However, the number of personal photographs, the abundance of wall taxidermy, and the chatchkeyes on every surface was just a little hard to take. But, the fireplace was amazing , and since the evenings were cool, we all enjoyed it.
It was difficult to prepare a meal in the kitchen as there is very little available counter space, and incovvenient to serve it in the dining room, which was located around the corner, through a sitting area. The large table in the great room allowed a comfortable meal though.
I found that with the warnings of the well drying up and possible septic overflowing, I felt a little unnerved every time a person took a shower or used the water.
We thought the price of 375.00 a night high for the Jamestown area, especially when required to bring sheets, towels, paper products, and clean the place before leaving.

Great location and plenty to do.
A perfect place for the eleven of us to unwind and relax. All the stuff in the house is a bit much , though.

Amazing!
We really enjoyed the "homeyness", and how it was far enough away from any of the usual noise. Even though it was in the quiet country, it was still within 10 minutes of most of our activities.
There was so much to do there at the house, I don't think we were able to enjoy all of it!
Would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the Chautauqua / Jamestown area!
