Perfect location! Perfect view! We loved this house. Had a problem with the refrigerator ice maker—called the agent and it was repaired the next day. Agentvery responsive and friendly.
Langinappe was perfect for our family. The home was clean and had everything we needed right down to to the beach towels! Communication with hosts was great and Dauphin Island Rentals made everything so easy for us. 10/10 recommend!
Very nicely situated. We had everything we needed. We liked the master bathroom with the double shower. Plenty of beds, seating, toys, chairs, kitchen items, towels, etc. The beds and furniture weren't the most comfy but other than that we were very pleased with it.
Great beach house in a quiet, peaceful setting. Dont come here for excitement, go-karts, acades, etc, because those are 90 minutes away. Come here for peace, beach, and beauty. Well stocked kitchen, lots of towels/ beach towels and actual TV service were great touches.

Property was excellent, had a few minor maintenance issues and text office. Before I could set phone down they were there and issues corrected. We loved the house, the beach was a great time for my family and grandkids had a blast.
This house was the perfect size for my kids and grandkids! The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The beach location could not be any better and we enjoyed it everyday. We had a small issue with the dryer but it was fixed within a couple of days. We would definitely stay in this house again!
We had a group of 9, 4adults and 5 teenagers. The house was open and spacey. The bedrooms were large and the bathrooms were nice. Being able to walk off the back deck and immediately be on the beach was amazing. The kids fished, played volleyball and just hung out. The back deck is large and has plenty of rocking chairs and a picnic table. The gas grill came in very handy throughout the week. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need to prepare meals. Grocery shop before you hit the island and relax once you on the island. We will definitely look into staying in this house again.
Our family absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful home on Dauphin Island! There was plenty of space for the 13 of us to spread out without feeling like we were on top of one another. The location couldn’t have been better, right on the beach was dreamy! We’re already plotting a return visit in the future!
We have loved Dauphin Island for years now. This by far was my favorite house. The house was perfect. The view off the back deck was breath taking! It was literally the most restful vacation we have ever had! I have specific dietary needs so having a grill to use was a huge plus. We communicated a few small things with the managment company and they responded immediately. We will definately stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at this property and being steps from the beach was relaxing, beautiful, and convenient. There was plenty of room for our family of 6, and we had room to spare. Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to prepare meals. The wet bar made it convenient to be able to just run up from the beach to grab drinks without having to track sand or wet feet all through the kitchen. We spent nearly every waking hour on the deck or the beach, from breakfast in the morning to star gazing at night in the rocking patio chairs.
We visited Fort Gaines one day and loved it!! Husband and 2 older boys went on an inshore fishing trip one day that left from the marina. There were about 15 people on board which made it crowded and the fishing was bad. Husband said he would suggest a private charter but would not do the group one again.
A couple things to reiterate ( and most of these are already addressed in the hosts notes)...
We had an issue with the fridge cooling properly the first couple days we were there, but after contacting the manager they responded promptly and sent a technician to fix it. Worked great after that!
Bring your own toiletries including extra toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, and paper towel. There was plenty of dish detergent there from a prior guest, but that may not always be the case.
The wi-fi on the island is horrible. We tried to watch one of our streaming services one night and it was a battle to get through a movie without buffering. We also had a virtual meeting to attend and we had to use our phone as a Hotspot. General internet surfing on our phones was iffy too. That being said, we weren't there to have our faces glued to a device so it didn't bother us. But if you need wi-fi, be prepared with a back up plan.
The furniture in the living room isn't really set up for lounging. It's more like patio furniture with cushions. But again, we were usually outside in the rockers anyway.
The windows in the front bedrooms won't stay open. Assuming this is a safety feature, but those rooms can get very warm. There were fans provided that helped but in the summer you'll probably want the central air on.
Overall we had a wonderful time! We've been on many beach vacations and this house by far was the best location and being right on the beach made it so much more enjoyable than any other beach trip we've had!! We would stay again.
This home was absolutely perfect when it comes to location! Inside was outdated and not the cleanest! Also, the fridge didn’t work! Other than that we loved it!
The property was clean and had enough space for our group! The beach was stunning and we saw dolphins swim by multiple times! We are very happy with the property!

Thank you for your suggestions. So sorry about the oven. Comcast on the Island can have bad reception at times. We do not have digital HD cable down here..yet. Hopefully soon. I will have rugs replaced!
Beach house was great. Very well maintained and clean. Walk out to the large deck and your own beach is in front of you. It was a fantastic week.

Why they chose this property
Dauphin Island, a wonder of nature and full of history is a barrier island on the Gulf . The population is about 1,300. The town is included in the Mobile metropolitan statistical area. The island was named for Louis XIV's great-grandson and heir, the Dauphin. Our 'laid-back' atmosphere is prized by folks who enjoy serenity and natural beauty.
The eastern, wider portion of the island, is shaded by thick stands of maritime pine trees, but the narrow, western part of the island features scrub growth and few trees.
Dauphin Island is home to Fort Gaines, Dauphin Island Sea Lab, The Estuarium public aquarium, the Dauphin Island Airport, boat ramps, a fishing pier located on the Island's eastern end, historic sites, several restaurants. Beaches attract tourism, and fishing is a popular activity in the waters around the island. The island is connected to the mainland by a 3.5 mile long bridge.
Although the entire island is a bird sanctuary, the main one is the 164-acre Audubon Bird Sanctuary. Dauphin Island is the first landfall encountered by many birds as they migrate north from Central and South America, and as a consequence many species can be found resting there before continuing their journey.
In 1519, the Spanish explorer Alonso Álvarez de Pineda was the first documented European to visit, staying long enough to map the island with remarkable accuracy.
The island's French history began on January 31, 1699, when the explorer Pierre Le Moyne, sieur d'Iberville, D'Iberville later decided to locate a port for Fort Louis de La Louisiane (Mobile). Fort Gaines on the eastern tip of the island was built between 1821 and 1848. It was occupied by Confederate forces in 1861, and captured by Federal troops during the Battle of Mobile Bay. The phrase, 'Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead,' was spoken by U. S. Admiral David Farragut just a few hundred yards from Dauphin Island's shore.
We love 'The Island' as much as we know you will!
What makes this property unique
The old walled Fort Gaines is on the east end of Dauphin Island. A ferry from nearby Fort Morgan in Gulf Shores brings both vehicles and pedestrians to the island. One of the closest attractions to the ferry dock is The Estuarium, located at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab...a fresh- and saltwater aquarium highlighting species native to coastal Alabama.
