About Carolyn Nelson
I take great pride keeping The Cottage updated and am particular when it comes to cleanliness. I personally work to insure high standards are maintained. I enjoy exploring the forest, cross country skiing and seeking out new adventures close by. There is so much to see and do! The BEST hiking trails are just behind The Cottage. The trails are second-to-none -- offering a bird's eye, panoramic view of Lake Superior & surrounding islands. Lake Superior commands the utmost respect for those venturing out on its waters and consistently over-delivers a powerful, spiritual message to those of us admiring its grandeur -- SHOREside. Guests are sure to feel "The Spirit of Gitche Gumee" and appreciate the nature, serenity, animals -- all of us -- who are lucky enough to call this amazing place our "home away from home". I personally enjoy traveling and believe it broadens ones perspective of the world by teaching tolerance, patience, respect and understanding of all people & cultures. Welcome! Bienvenue!
Why Carolyn Nelson chose Neebing
This spectacular place has brought cherished memories, healing escapes & heart-thumping adventures. It is truly one of my very favorite places in this world and I am thankful to have the opportunity to share it with you.
What makes this Cottage unique
Thunder Bay is a cultural city with a Duluth kind-of-feel. Its WaterFront area is lovely hosting a harbor and walking paths. Here you will discover some absolutely wonderful restaurants with creative chefs offering interesting, delicious cuisine. Here also are many fun, interesting events! Do not miss the BrewHa Craft Beer Festival or Blues Festival held during the summer months. Be sure to check out: www.visitthunderbay.com for additional information. Thunder Bay hosts an incredible and creative talented art community influenced by its rich, Native roots. Are artists are drawn to this beautiful landscape for inspiration? Or does the amazing nature inspire people to express their innermost artistic talent? Guests are sure to appreciate unique, handmade crafts inspired and created in and from nature, nurture and culture. Do not miss the Thunder Bay Art Gallery with modern art by Native artists. Thunder Bay hosts an International Airport, city centre & several universities. The International Airport and city centre are only 25 minutes from The Cottage. The airport is upscale offering flights to/from anywhere in the world. The city centre offers guests the opportunity to purchase quality meat, fresh fish, organic produce & baked goods at reasonable prices. Have you ever eaten a Persian? A Persian is a special pastry unique only to Thunder Bay! Be curious enough to stop by The Persian Man Bakery and try one -- they are pink, sweet and delicious. Check out their delicious handmade pasta & perogies too! I really appreciate being so close to the city of Thunder Bay...but admit my absolute favorite place is residing at The Cottage overlooking the ever-changing MAGNIFICENT Lake Superior. It always feels like a magical, enchanting world away from everything else...
