Allan operated on this historic property dating back to 1898. This level home is perfectly situated to maximize the views of Point Lobos and is just a few steps to Monastery Beach — famous for diving and pounding ocean swells. Take pleasure in the sweeping panoramic ocean views of Point Lobos and a white sand beach as your backyard. Scuba divers come from far and wide to enjoy the kelp forests, otters, seals, whales and other wildlife found in the waters off Monastery Beach. Hardwood floors, fireplace and large glass panels blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. 3 cottages on property. Two 2 bedroom one 3 bedroom.

This place is so relaxing. There is nothing like listening to crashing waves. The beach is just steps away from the patio. Our hosts were amazing, the place immaculate and it had every thing we needed for cooking great meals. We will be back every year!

We loved the location.The cottage had an odor that we couldn't put our finger on until we were there for a few days. Damp maybe mold? Our eyes and throats were very bothered. The king bed sheets were not cleaned but the bed was made. Kitchen was clean as well as the bathrooms. We enjoyed Carmel and walking the beach trails!

Truly a magical stay in a cottage on the sea! We Lucked out and had some incredible sunsets on the beach. Super convenient location to Point Lobos, Big Sur, and Carmel! Very comfortable stay and well appointed kitchen. The cottage was impeccably clean. Very normal checkout cleaning requests, which I so appreciate. Would absolutely stay here again!

Amazing location!! There is a trail steps away from the home and the beach is your backyard. Our dog enjoyed hanging out in the enclosed yard we had. Sea Otter Cottage is very cute and cozy.Communication with the host was great.We enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Cozy cottage

Fabulous location! The cottage was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Lots of nearby trails to hike, and a lovely patio to enjoy the sunset over Point Lobos. Despite being right on the beach, it still felt secluded and peaceful. We hope to come back again soon!

Amazing place

The ocean, shoreline and cottage were wonderful. We sat outside and talked for hours and listened to the ocean. We had everything we needed in the cottage and then some. Would willingly return again.

Anniversary trip

The view alone is worth staying here. We had both back doors open any time we were there. The layout is perfect for enjoying the sound of the waves and the view of the sunset. The house is also perfectly located for being able to do day trips to San Francisco or Big Sur. If you are looking for a place to stay that is cozy and has amazing views you found it.

Hidden Gem of Carmel

Perfect location for us. I love dining and shopping in the downtown, but not staying in the downtown. Very private, very quiet, very peaceful, and close to everything worth being close to. The only downside is the beach, which absolutely destroyed my feet, but a breathtaking view no doubt. I wish I could've stayed for a month!

Hard to beat

There are very few beach side properties to rent in the area. We scouted this place out the previous year and booked it straight away. Great location and pretty easy access to anywhere on the peninsula. Great views of Point Lobos etc. and loved the history associated directly to the founder.

Perfect getaway!

The location can’t be beat. All essentials provided, beds were comfortable , good amenities with plenty of extra towels, blankets, etc. Second bathroom by entry is small and shower had low water pressure but was not really an issue for us. Can’t wait to return!
