Oyster Reef Cottage is a perfect beach retreat. Located in Pass Christian, MS, about 50 minutes from New Orleans, in a world apart. Custom built home set in a stand of graceful old oak trees. The home is beach front, with a screened-in porch, spanning the front of the home with a beautiful view.

The house has a private pool with a large deck, table and chairs and a small grill is provided. Lounge chairs and pool floats are stored in the pool house bathroom.

The house features 12-foot ceilings, beautiful crown molding, ceiling fans and wide pine floors throughout.

The large living room is highlighted by French doors opening to the front porch and features a wood burning fireplace. The dining room seats up to 8 and includes a floor-to-ceiling closet, which includes a wine cooler. The kitchen features a double wall oven, gas range top, granite countertops, lighted wall pantry, and lots of cabinets and shelf space. The kitchen is fully stocked with all pots, pans and dishes needed. Laundry room with washer & dryer is off the dining room area.

The primary bedroom, with a king bed, faces the beach and French doors open to the screened porch. The second bedroom, with a queen bed, overlooks the pool. Each bedroom has its own full bath. The primary bath shower features three shower heads.

Relax and gaze out at the Gulf of Mexico from the screened in porch. Perfect for afternoon naps, curling up with a good book, or having your family dinner party outside at the table.

Enjoy sitting in the front yard on the swing or in the chairs surrounding the fire pit.

While in Pass Christian you can enjoy golfing, tennis, fishing, boating, walking, beachcombing, sunbathing or watching the historic fishing boats and recreational craft at the beautiful harbor. Downtown Pass Christian features restaurants, pubs and gift and specialty shops. You can find tennis and pickleball courts too. Golfing is popular year-round at Timber Ridge and the Oaks. 5 boat launches are located within a mile of Oyster Reef, multiple public piers, and of course, salt-water wade fishing right outside the front door!

The house is adorable and the host is fabulous!! The screened in porch is the perfect place to sip your coffee in the morning and your cocktail at night! Short walk across the street to enjoy the nearly private beach! We’ll be back!

We have stayed here several times and just love it. It’s a seamless transition from home to this perfect house because it has everything you could want or need. My favorite spot is the front porch, no matter what time of year we visit. The new swing in the front yard is heavenly!

We had a wonderful stay! The house was exactly as described—clean, well-kept, and perfectly located with beautiful views of the ocean. It was centrally located for our day road trips to Pensacola Florida and New Orleans Louisiana, making it a convenient home base. The kids especially loved the private pool, and we really enjoyed exploring the local food scene. During our stay, lightning struck a tree in the front yard, but the owner and property manager handled it quickly and professionally. We felt well taken care of and would absolutely visit again!

Front Porch Breeze

The location was superb. The property met our needs for my wife our 17-year-old, her friend and myself, with additional visiting grandkids. The highlight was the front porch, it was extremely relaxing, and the breeze was amazing. We made two large meals during our stay, and the house was supplied with all the necessities. The beds were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again.

It was amazing, wonderful view of the ocean from the front screened in porchWe loved drinking coffee in the mornings on the porch We ate all our meals on the porchThe backyard pool was refreshing we had a fun time out at the pool. The property was not what we expected. We rented a house on the Gulf Coast in July that has a pool. The pool area is poorly maintained with moss and weeds growing around the pool coping that should have been filled with grout. The grout had disintegrated. There was no comfortable furniture for lounging near the pool. There was a set that had one bench seat set to the side and not for use as there was no cushion and 2 other chairs that the cushions belonged on a chair 3 times smaller. The grass had not been cut with 2 foot weeds growing. The oven broke prior to our arrival with no notification in advance. We found out when we tried to cook on night one. The bed frames were broken. The shower curtain was 2 feet too short serving no purpose at all. We were so uncomfortable in the pool area we decided to leave half way through the rental period. Though no fault of the owner the beach had dead animals all over it, sharks fish and an armadillo. I will never return to this hole or area for vacation. This house has so much potential but needs a great deal of TLC.

Exceeded our Expectations

So many positive things to say about our stay. The walk to the beach was easyyy. The master shower has THREE shower heads! The pictures don’t do this property justice. The house is beautiful, spacious and airy. Vaulted ceilings, detailed moldings, screened in porch and beach views create a magical space. Communication and instructions from the host were detailed and made the rental process effortless. Pass Christian is a such a neat place. If ever back in the area, will definitely stay here again!

Peace and relaxation

The private pool was great. The beach is literally across the road. The area is peaceful and quiet. There arent any busy tourist areas. Local eateries are a few minutes drive away. The beds were comfy. The kitchen was well apointed. If youre looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway, this is the place for you.

Another Great Stay

We come to this home every year. It has everything we need for a relaxing stay on the beach. The front screened porch is great for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Our last trip was during the Jeepin the Coast so we got to see all kinds of jeeps go past the house day and night. The pool was just the right temperature. There were a couple of days the flies were biting us at the beach so you might want to take insect repellent. We look forward to our next stay here.

Truly magical

We stayed for two weeks. The house is very well organized and has an old south ambience. The pool is a welcomed treat on a hot day and sunset beach walks are a must! A great seafood place is a short walk away and fresh seafood is easily purchased on a near by pier. The property manager is the most friendly and competent one we have ever worked with. A lovely place! We recommend it highly.

Wonderful house and stay

My wife and two teen sons stayed 3 nights over spring break and enjoyed the stay. The property is well described and the house is in great shape. Our favorite was the across street Gulf access with nice clean beach and the screened-in front porch. The weather was a bit cool for the pool. This house/property may not be ideal for small kids that wander due to stairs, pool and roadway nearby. I think the property access issue was more due to VRBO than the property managers but it wasn't serious. If we make plans to return to the area we would definitely stay again.

Great house, great location. The host was quick to respond. We will definitely stay here again. We came right after the storm and the pool guy came and cleaned pool, the city cleaned the beach of debris . Super quiet town with good food and great golf courses.

We’ve loved this area since we were both children and our families would spend time here. Quiet and serene, but plenty to do nearby.

What makes this property unique

This house is perfect in all seasons. Enjoy the beach and our pool in the warm months as well as the large screened in front porch with large ceiling fan. Cooler weather is perfect for beach walks, sitting on the porch or opening the French doors to the screened in porch and let the air in! Enjoy a fire at the fire pit in the front yard or in the fireplace and snuggle up with a blanket and a good book!
