Perfect for our girls trip. House was stocked with everything we needed. Loved having the paddle boards available to us. Enjoyed the wineries, eating in Douglas and shopping in Saugatuck.
Clean and true to the listing. We had a wonderful stay. Grandkids went fishing for the first time and actually caught some fish. Thanks for helping to make memories! The host was very easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly.
The property is conveniently located just far enough away from Saugatuck to provide a quiet stay on a small town lake with the ability to add all of the tourist adventures if desired. The owner has thought about property use and provides everything you need to enjoy the house: lawn games, kayaks, dock with a pontoon boat patio, fire-pit with firewood, jacuzzi with outdoor shower and plenty of indoor board games for rainy days. Great for families looking to make memories.

Thanks so much! I am glad you enjoyed all the aspects of the Lakehouse as it was meant to be experienced!
The house was very nice! It was set up a little definitely then expected but we really liked it! There was a lot added to this house to make it feel homey! The only thing that was a little disappointing was we thought the house was right on the water and it is close but about a football field away. Still not bad and with so much extras to offer! We would stay again and or recommend it!
Property was in a very nice neighborhood close to the lake. Beds were extremely comfortable. The hot tub was very enjoyable! Would definitely book again!
This house is well equipped for a family. Plenty of toys to use on the lake, as well as a closet full of board games and puzzles for family members of all ages to enjoy.
Loved the home, loved the town and all its offerings from Cranes to the Tastee Treat. Home had everything we could need and everyone was comfortable and happy. Thanks for having us, cant wait to come back again!
We had a lovely time here with our adult kids and young grandkids! Short walks in the neighborhood and down to the lake for time on the stationary pontoon boat.
Well equipped, clean, quiet and spacious home. We were in town for a wedding and were able to get a lot of our family in one home. Everyone enjoyed the stay and could say enough about the property.
Went to the location for a fun girls weekend. Had an amazing time, would be a great place for families as well with all the room and games and such. Great morning view of the lake. Hot tub is perfect! Highly recommend!

Very, VERY, nice!!!
We absolutely LOVED this house! It was cozy and had all the essentials! It is spacious, and perfect for our needs!! We will be staying here again! Owner is very prompt to respond! Thanks for sharing your home!
This was a great home base for our visit to the tulip festival. We were close to Holland, but far away from the festival crowd. The lake view was even better than expected. We spent time on the pier and wished that it had been late enough in the season so that the pontoon was already in the water. This was an enjoyable stay.
We enjoyed the decks, fire pit, hot tub and well stocked kitchen. The weather didn’t cooperate, but there’s nothing anyone can do about that! The house was perfect for a quick girl’s getaway.
A lovely setting with a nicely equipped kitchen and plenty of deck area as well as dockside space. Clean, with lots of games and beach towels. The idled pontoon boat was a must, since there is nowhere to stand or sit at the water’s edge.
We had an amazing time on our vacation and Chris's place was the best place to stay! Fennville is a great town with everything you need close by and a short drive to the beautiful Lake Michigan. His lakehouse is very equipped and we enjoyed the views, watching sunsets on the pontoon and hanging out. Weather was perfect. Chris was great at communicating and answered any questions we had. We will definitely be back! :)
Short walk to the lake. Beautiful area.
Master bed was very comfortable. Didn’t have any complaints about the others except for down stairs queen bedroom under the bed we found mold.
House was clean but does have a smell of mildew, really bad in basement area. Once we aired it out upstairs it wasn’t unlivable.
We still enjoyed ourselves and would probably stay again.

We have never had feedback like this before in 7 years. I am curious as to why that feedback was not sent immediately with a photo, because nothing like that has ever been found.
The lower level can smell a bit damp during humid summer and fall weekends especially when the dehumidifier is turned off. Which seems to happen often. We have never had mold and I would think that would have been an immediate complaint.

A wonderful getaway
Very clean, spacious, and provided everything we needed to be comfortable and accommodated for a week long stay. The hot tub was great and very reliable, the bed was comfortable, and the the house was well-equipped with lots of seasonally appropriate outdoor gear, even for Winter. The owner was very attentive to our needs and quick to respond the couple of times we needed to consult her. We vacationed there during the Winter, and a very big storm came through. We were happy to be snowed in because the house provided everything we needed to relax and have fun without even leaving! The hot tub, sledding in the backyard, a hike by the lake, and the house indoors itself were so enjoyable. Thank you for the hospitality, and we definitely recommend!

Cameras were not disclosed on listing
Would have found another place to stay if we had known about the cameras on front porch, two on deck stairs, one in hot tub area. Felt like a violation of privacy and something that should be disclosed and according to VRBO policy it should have been.

There was only one camera on the front porch that was disclosed. The others were only lights and not cameras at all. I'm sorry you misunderstood what they were.
There were just three of us, so we only used the main level. It was a rainy weekend so we did not use the hot tub. Was looking forward to that.
Rooms seemed smaller than the pictures but it was fine for us. Lower level had a musty smell, but it was a wet and rainy weekend. Lake view was obstructed by the beautiful colored leaves in the trees so it was only a short walk to the dock.
Had a great time.
Towels in bathrooms were very plush.
This was just as the listing stated. Quiet neighborhood, (nice neighbors also). Lovely shady place to read and relax, short walk to docks where you can relax some more. Truly a lake house, not so fussy that it makes you uncomfortable, but literally everything you will need to rest or play. Lots of space (more than we needed), and well supplied, from the bathrooms to the kitchen. We weren’t sure about having one shower, but it was totally fine. It was nice having paddle boards, kayaks, life vests etc, and the boat to chill on. Used the fire pit which was fun, and the hot tub looked lovely, but we didn’t use it just because the weather was so nice at the lake. The owner is very responsive, which was great. We would recommend this place to others.

Work retreat
We went for a work retreat and the house itself was very nice. I really wish the lake was closer to the house for the price we paid. There were also neighbors at the lake that were policing us. Telling us not to play music because it echoes (at 6:30 pm) and there were about 40 neighbors that took over the dock that was shared so we are made to feel like outsiders invading their space. We were even asked if we were renters and made to feel like we couldn't have fun because of that. Well, we paid an obscene amount of money for just a day to have fun together. Next time we will book something more secluded. None of this is the fault of the property owner though. It's just not the place to go if you're looking to let loose and have fun at a lake with a group of people.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Parkinson
I bought this house after falling in love with Lake Hutchins. My family just loves to play on this lake and so do I!
Why they chose this property
This house has all the benefits of being right on the lake with a view and a private pier, but without the expense of actually being right on the lake. It is the best of both worlds!
What makes this property unique
The location of this house is perfect because it is quiet and away from all of the business of Saugatuck, yet if you want to experience what that has to offer you're only minutes away from it, as well as some beautiful Lake Michigan beaches.
You have the beauty and recreation of a smaller lake that is spring fed with a sand bottom and easy to swim in by Memorial day!
