About this property

Quiet countryside escape! Nature, relaxation, adventure abound.

Come enjoy a relaxing vacation at our 34-acre estate! Great for families or for couples that want some peace and quiet. Enjoy many activities on the property and a close hike to Wild River State Park. The property boasts a 15 acre field that frequently has up to 100 deer grazing in the evening. Turkeys and Sandhill Cranes are regular visitors as well. You are welcome to hike the property searching for Morrell Mushrooms (we can point you in the right direction). The property comes with a garden that you are welcome to help yourself from that includes corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, beans and more! The other side of the property has Shitake Mushrooms, plum and apple trees that you are welcome to harvest!
Take a walk down the private gravel road and about a mile away you will be able to enter the state park. You can also drive there and park on the road to hike. Just a few miles from there is the main park entrance that has many hiking trails, horse trails and cross country skiing in the winter (on select days they rent skis).
In the summer, kick back and enjoy the quiet of nature. An above-ground pool is available and often deer and wildlife walk by. Keep an eye out for the barn cats, as they spend time in the field mousing and doing their jobs! As the evenings cool off, feel free to have a fire. Sit in the backyard as the fireflies light up the fields and the frogs start singing in the nearby swamps. If you have horses, it is only a short trot down the road to enter the park which boasts miles of riding trails. We have roughly an acre of fenced-in pasture you are welcome to use, and the barn provides a lean-to for inclimate weather. Please let us know if you will be bringing horses so we can prepare the area.
The fall is beautiful! The trees are changing color and you will be in the heart of some great leaf-looking!
In the winter, head down to Wild River State Park and do some cross country skiing! Select winters they have snowshoeing as well. If you have your own set, you are welcome to use them about the property.
In the spring, the baby animals are running around, flowers are blooming and everything is coming out of hibernation.
Inside the house, enjoy several large screen televisions, including a theater room. Shut the shades, turn down the lights and watch a movie! In the basement is also a pool table and a bar to belly up to. The master bedroom is waiting for you with a king-size Tempur-Pedic mattress. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the master bath's freestanding tub. Each bedroom boasts a memory foam mattress to ensure a restful night after your day's adventures.
Many unmentioned nearby activities include Wild Mountain Water Park and Ski Resort, Wild River Winery, Taylors Falls, Interstate Park, the pot holes, and much more!
Feel free to drop us a message with any other questions. We do not know if we will complete the backyard landscaping/deck this year. Pricing reflects this.

great secret location

This location was very nice, about 10-15 minutes away from the cities but far enough in the country for peace & quiet. There is a deck currently being built which will be a great addition to watch sunsets or sun raises. Due to the weather we were not able to find the garden, pool, or trails but had plenty to do with other items offered. We even ended up with bad weather & were checked in on the next day.

Away from it all

Very nice spot away from everything. Wonderful to be able to have all four of our dogs. There's room for everyone and basement with "theater" room, bar and pool. Tons of games. Great communication with the host. Toobuggy to use pool but looked inviting. Jakes on the Lakes is less than 30 minutes away and has delicious food. Made for a great family weekend!

Secluded little getaway

Nice quiet location thats close to fun family attractions. House is big enough for plenty of family without being on top of each other. The yard is huge! We saw several deer in the area on a daily basis. There is a state park down the road. Board games & a few kid toys in the bedroom. Pool outside. House is beautiful! The host is very responsive and willing to help with all needs. Highly recommend staying at this house.

Large property, good for groups

Quiet, well appointed property in private setting. Stayed here with a group of eight 50-something friends for a golf, poker, and screw around weekend. Enjoyed a nice meal at the rental, which was fairly easy in the kitchen that had most every thing we needed for prep. The property is a bit rural, but we discovered The Northern in Chisago Lakes and the Muddy Cow in North Branch, which were within about 20—25 minutes and each had good food. We enjoyed the expansive grounds, had a bonfire, and played some yard games that we brought with us. It was nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors and not have to worry about disturbing neighbors when we got a little loud. We had great communication with Eric, our host, who was happy to answer any questions via text and got on the phone, when something required a more specific explanation. Check out was a breeze, which was nice when the weekend concluded!
