Incredible Stay

This was definitely the nicest vacation rental that I have stayed in. I’d say it was equivalent to a 5-star hotel! Every detail of the house was meticulously thought out to make guests feel comfortable. The cherry on top was the sleep number bed in one of the bedrooms, but all beds were super comfortable. The host even goes as far to make sure your dogs are comfortable too. I was also impressed at how clean and well maintained the house and property were. The retro decor was super cute. The views of the mountain, the river, and the quietness were simply amazing! It was so relaxing sitting out by the river and watching the wildlife. Lisa was also amazing and great at communicating all the details needed to make things as seamless as possible. And if you’re there on a Wednesday, be sure to check out her booth at the Weaverville farmer’s market. She makes a killer blueberry scone, delicious chocolate chip cookies, and a variety of other baked yummies!!! Thank you for a wonder stay!

ON THE RIVER LODGE is owned by Bob and Dana. Located on the Trinity River in Douglas City, California. We had initially hoped our river home would be a part-time home for us to be closer to Dana’s mom, Becky. Becky’s sudden death occurred before we completed our purchase, but, we had already fallen in love with the area, so we decided to open our home up to guests when we aren’t using it.

We are happy to have the assistance of our co-host, Lisa Harper, who lives locally and will be able to attend to any of our guests needs. Please feel free to contact Lisa or Bob & Dana with any questions or concerns, before, during or after your stay.

We believe we have a truly special property. Whether you are here to enjoy one of the many activities for outdoor enthusiasts, view the historical sights, or just relax, we hope you will enjoy all our home and community have to offer.

Why they chose this property

Dana grew up down the street from this property.

What makes this property unique

The river view and access cannot be beat. We have stayed in many properties on the river and looked long and hard before we fell in love with this property. We hope you find it to be as special as we do.
