I love quirky old houses. This one was so interesting, which made for a really fun stay. Location was very convenient. Would definitely stay here again!
My family and I stayed at this beautiful property as we were in town for a golf tournament. This was our second visit to Thomasville, GA and this town NEVER ceases to amaze us! The people in Thomasville are the most kind and genuine people anywhere! This cottage was just a perfect example of this. Plenty of space, super clean, and so close to the historic down town. We walked everywhere! We would ABSOLUTELY stay ant this property again and again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Walcott Cottage. The house is so charming and a short walk from Thomasville’s adorable downtown. While the cottage has the charm that often comes with being a historic home, it also has all the modern conveniences we needed to make it comfortable—dishwasher, garbage disposal, updated bathrooms, WiFi, etc. It was also immaculately clean—something I greatly appreciated! Our host, Dorothy, was very welcoming and communicative. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.

Ann, thank you for your kind review! You guys are the ideal guests--communicative, kind, and enjoyed all the amenities that are at the house! We hope you will return again. All best, Dorothy
Would highly recommend! Christmas time in Thomasville is always special but to stay within walking distance of downtown was the icing on the cake!! Thank you for the wonderful memories. See you next year Thomasville.
One of bedrooms upstairs was furnished as an office and did not include a daybed or anything to allow its use as sleeping space. The steps are very steep and no upstairs bath so requires going down steps possibly during night.Not optimal for very old or very young. No microwave so unable to sterilize bottles for infant. Very limited soap etc. For this price 300/night with all fees.

Thank you for your response. To address your comments:
*The listing is as stated, "With two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main floor along with a third bedroom and home office on the second floor". We are listed as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, not a 4 bedroom house. The home office upstairs is used for those guests who are working while traveling and is not listed as a bedroom;
*The house is an historic 19th c. house with all its charms and quirks. We inform guests when they arrive to be careful going up and down the stairs. The top step is also marked with tape to ensure guests can see the top step;
*We do not have a microwave listed as an amenity on the site, but that's a great idea and one we will plan to add in the new year; and
*We provide guests with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We will add more soap and appreciate you bringing that to our attention.
We hope you enjoyed your stay despite these issues. The fresh poinsettias were something we thought you would enjoy as you were celebrating the holidays.
We do our best to ensure that our listing is not misleading and that all our guests have an enjoyable stay!
Check in was very easy and needed no transportation, everything was in walking distance!

Why they chose this property
After living in Europe, we were looking for a place where we could walk as much as possible without getting into our car. There are sidewalks to town and throughout the neighborhood. Being in the historic Dawson Street neighborhood, you are surrounded by historic homes. One of our favorite walks is down Dawson street admiring all the different architectural styles. You can hear the church bells ringing during the day.....it's the perfect in-town experience.
