DB 13--"Aboat Time", 2 BR/1 Bath Cottage, Walk to Beach, Full Kitchen, Dogs OK!

Welcome to the iconic Double Barr Cottages! Double Barr has been a favorite of Port A visitors for generations and is perfect for a quick beach getaway, a fishing trip, or family fun. Located just a couple of blocks from the beach in the "golf cart zone", you can walk, bike, or take a cart to the beach, fishing, or the many shops, restaurants, and other attractions downtown. The property has free parking, outdoor dining areas, and gas BBQ grills. An on-site laundry is available for a small fee.

Cottage 13 ("Aboat Time") is the largest 2 BR on the Double Barr property. It features a large living/dining area, a full kitchen, a full bath with walk-in shower, and an enclosed patio. A smart television with Roku and wireless internet are included with your stay. The first bedroom has a queen bed and has direct access to the bathroom. The second bedroom has a set of bunk beds. Linens, towels, basic soaps, and paper products are also included.

There is a reserved parking space for the cottage on the property and there is overflow parking for additional vehicles, oversize vehicles, or boat trailers. Please inquire about availability of additional parking.

The house has central air conditioning and gas heat. Guests can use the outdoor picnic areas and gas BBQ grills. The guest laundry with 2 sets of washer/dryers is available for an additional fee.

Double Barr Cottages is dog-friendly subject to weight and breed limitations. We welcome well-behaved, adult dogs and ask that you clean up after them outside and kennel them if left alone in the cabin for an extended period. There is a pet cleaning fee of $50 per pet per stay. If you plan on bringing a dog, please let us know the weight and breed so we can pre-approve their stay with you.

Nice location, and great communication.

The hosts were very responsive and answered all my questions before and during my stay. Left no questions and check in/ out was very straight forward. Property was as advertised. Just a 10 min walk or so to the beach. I would definitely go again.

Don’t judge a book

We took a short trip down & needed a place that took small dogs as my mother has one that won’t leave her side. This was a great fit. The outside has endured the elements of time but the inside has been redone & was very nice & clean. It is a good location. It has many windows so if u like the dark while u sleep, being a sleep mask. We would stay here again.

The management was fine but

The ratings for this property must be old. The place is in need of repairs. Rotten outdoor furniture, windows leaked when it rained. Threshold rotting. Hopefully updating in down time.

We're sorry that you felt the accommodations were dated. Double Barr Cottages were built in the 1960s. Earlier this year, the unit you stayed in was painted inside and there are new beds, a new dining table, a new television, and new living room furniture. While we continue to improve the property, we do not want to detract from the historic nature of the property. If you want something new and shiny, there are several hundred new properties that have been built in the last 10 years on the island. Of course, they come with a much higher price tag.
