The Harbour House is located in the idyllic village of Pennan in the North East of Scotland.The property has a FIVE STAR GRADING FROM VISIT SCOTLAND.The house sleeps up to 6 people and is furnished,decorated and maintained to the highest standards.A wonderful relaxing stopover between visiting Edinburgh and Loch Ness and the Highlands.

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location

Probably the best VRBO cottage that we've ever stayed in. Cozy, warm, beautifully presented. But, it's the little touches that Claudia incorporates that makes this place special. Plus, Pennan is magical.

By the waters edge, The Harbour House looks out over the pretty harbour in Pennan and is a delightful and calm place to relax. It was clean and wholesome when we arrived and has everything you need for a long or short stay. The bedding (very important!) was clean and crisp and all the appliances worked well and were easy to use. The Pennan Inn, a few doors away, has a limited but delicious menu and highly recommended. We had huge fun exploring the local area and there's plenty of walking for the more energetic. We had a perfect stay here!

Old Fishing Village gem

Harbor View is tucked into the cliff side with its beautiful village mates in a breathtaking row of color! The cottage was perfect for relaxing, cooking, happy sleeping and enjoying a wood fire stove.

Beautiful property in an Idyllic Location

This property was the perfect getaway for our family. Pennan is a beautiful place and we were immediately impressed by the house’s location, layout, the furnishings and the welcoming fire that was in the wood stove. Everything was exactly as described. The house was very nicely equipped and perfect for a family stay. Claudia stayed in touch throughout the process and we were made to feel very welcome. We loved this place so much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal getaway.

Perfect retreat

Harbour house was perfect for my stay in Pennan. The welcome pack was appreciated. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. The bathroom extras were a nice thought, though didn’t use them. Communication with Claudia was exceptional. A comfortable place to rest and relax.

Wir waren 5 Freunde und haben die Zeit im Habour House genossen. Vermutlich waren wir die ersten Gäste der Saison, da wir das Haus erstmal aufheizen mussten - aber dann war es perfekt für uns. Toll ausgestattete Küche, zwei gemütliche Wohnzimmer mit Kamin ... alles sehr authentisch eingerichtet. Claudia ist eine tolle Gastgeberin - alles war vorbereitet und der Kontakt sehr angenehm.

Excellent house with a great view

We had a great stay in Pennan. The house was spacious, clean and comfy with everything we needed - including toys and games for our son. The views from the kitchen and living room were fantastic and we enjoyed the log fire to keep us warm in the evening.

A warm welcome to a fantastic house. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 4 teenagers. Lots to see and do, but at a wonderfully relaxed pace. The sunsets were stunning too. If you go, make sure you check out The Coastal Cuppie too!

PERFECT PENNAN

Absolutely idyllic Harbourside House in Pennan. A fantastic spot, to relax and unwind. The house is extremely comfortable and Claudia our host has thought of everything to make your stay perfect. Great quality beds and bedding, all fuel for fire supplied, very thoughtful and appreciated Welcome Basket, she has even created a basket of toiletries including, disposable razors, plasters, paracetamol etc. Furniture and fixings an eclectic mix of old and new, but beautifully blended to make a 'welcoming atmosphere'. Definitely highly recommended.

Magical Hideaway by the Sea

A charming and comfortable seaside cottage in the lovely village of Pennan. The Harbour House has stunning views of the North Sea as the centerpiece of the accommodations. The home is tastefully decorated and everything needed was available. Claudia was responsive and accommodated our request for an early check in. She made us feel right at home on arrival, taking us on a tour of the home explaining the details, and offering a lovely welcome basket. She even had a fire going as it was a cool, blustery day. It was a perfect mix of accessible isolation. Be sure to check out Cullykahn just to the west. It’s an amazing view of the cliffs with a beach down below. The promontory has remains of a Neolithic hill fort which, although hiding in the grass is still totally amazing. We will definitely book here again.

Perfectly relaxing

The only noise is by the seagulls and the wind. The town is absolutely charming. The house is equipped with absolutely everything you can think of. Even a copy of 'The local hero' was on the DVD player.

We live in Aboyne a small town close to Balmoral Castle and the Cairngorms National Park.We have been in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. We own a restaurant on Royal Deeside as well as one of Scotland`s only 5 star hostels- Habitat @Ballater.
Along with our three teenage children we have travelled extensively in Europe and North America.We like to relax when we are on holiday and enjoy nice,comfortable surroundings after a days sightseeing. We have tried to provide everything that our guests will require to have a fabulous holiday in Scotland.

Why they chose this property

Pennan is one of the prettiest coastal villages in Scotland.It is situated on the Banffshire coast which is a real 'hidden gem' .The whole coastline is dotted with lovely villages in spectacular settings,there are interesting historical towns such as Banff and Portsoy.The birdwatching and wildlife are world famous.Being based in Pennan means you can easily drive to wonderful beaches,visit ancient castles and explore the wonderful history and culture of rural Aberdeenshire.

What makes this property unique

Pennan is quaint,quiet and peaceful.The 30 or so houses all line the single street and everyone knows each other.When you come out of the front door you are right on the harbourside and next to the pebbled beach.
You can sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the fantastic sunsets.When it`s cold outside you can curl up in front of the fire and listen to the waves.
