My family and I really enjoyed our stay. This property is very peaceful quiet relaxing and cozy. It is stacked with everything you need and more. I would highly recommend
The house was awesome with use of kayaks and boats. It was a perfect home away from home without having to bring everything. Property owners were awesome and very easy to work with. If you’re looking for a lake to fish we didn’t find this lake to be plentiful. We did see a bald eagle and loons. Would highly recommend to stay here.
Our family had a great stay at the Wallace cabin! Squaw Lake was a wonderful setting to relax on the beautiful covered deck or take advantage of kayaking, fishing, or having an evening bonfire. This location is very quiet and offers a place to unplug from the world for a while (even though Wi-Fi service was great). This family cabin shows wonderful memories from it's owners while providing the comforts you would hope for. The Wallace's were friendly and very helpful! We would definitely stay at this northern jewel again!
If you want a quiet place to think and get away from it all, this is the place! You might hear a Loon or geese, or see an American bald eagle glide over the surface of the water. The cottage exceeded expectations with hospitality galore from the owners. The small beach is perfect for swimming, the dock is perfect for fishing and the sunrise from the covered deck was breathtaking. The cottage was clean and well stocked with the beds adding that extra Ahhh feeling as you slipped between the sheets. We enjoyed our mini vacation and plan on coming back in the future! Give yourself a soul rest and book now!
I knew I made the right choice when my 12 year old wanted to stay another week. My teenagers liked the kayaks and paddle boats. One paddle boat has a ladder so you can climb back in from swimming. The lake is clear and our side is shallow. The house is well equipped with what we needed and then some. Bring a fan for the downstairs bedrooms on hot days.
We had lots of movies and games.
We enjoyed horseback riding at Maple Ridge stables, the Escape room in Grayling, and the beach on the Traverse City peninsula.
Word of caution on Google directions- Kemler and Bear lane turn into one lane sand paths for 4 wheel drive only. Twin Lake road is paved.
We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Charlie for your hospitality!
Our family rented this lake cabin to enjoy one another in a relaxing setting. We traveled over 1,000 miles from Alabama and boy was it was worth the drive!! We have rented several vacation homes and this cabin and all its amenities was by FAR the cleanest, quaintest, most peaceful, best equipped place we have ever rented. The cabin literally had every possible thing you could need to cook together, relax, and enjoy one another’s company. There were games, books, so many outside toys and watercraft to use, and so many special personal touches left by Charlie and his wife. One thing in particular that made our stay so special was the bald eagle that would land in the trees just across the lake from the cabin. Charlie had a pair of binoculars for us to use to really get a good look. There were many other personal touches left for our enjoyment. The little things set this cabin and the hosts far above everywhere and everyone else. This cabin and its hosts are a hidden treasure. We hope we are able to return next summer to enjoy it all again.
