The Home was exactly what we were looking for. Great location and easy to find with GPS. Very Close to great places and our Venues. It was like staying in a early 1900's Museum Home with great Air Conditioning! Planning another Family Retreat there again in the future!
Rustic, Quiet and Peaceful is a beautiful retreat for those looking for solitude in the rolling hills of NC. The decor mixes authentic farmhouse with modern touches. Clean, quaint and plenty of space. Our family enjoyed the stay and property immensely.
We rented the house for the All Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway and this house was the perfect rustic rental for the weekend. It was exactly as advertised and was the perfect rental for our weekend.
This home is such a peaceful and wonderful place. One can feel the peace when one steps out of the car onto the property. My Women of God group stayed three nights. We had such an awesome time. The kitchen is very well-stocked and the house was clean. Molly is a great host. We will stay there again on our next visit to Moravian Falls.
Wonderful stay at this farmhouse 6 miles away from Wilkes community college. I was there
With several friends for a long weekend. Beautiful location and wonderful views into the mountains. Easy in and out. Home well looked after and beds comfortable. Kitchen well stocked and very functional. Bathrooms in excellent shape. Owner easy to communicate and very accommodating. Recommend with five stars!
We loved this place and the location. It is very rustic and yet had all we needed. Loved the history and all the information.
We will try to rent next year!
This was a perfect property for us. Four of us stayed here for a riding vacation at Brushy Mountain motorsports park. Very quiet location, with all the charm and character of an antique farmhouse. Spotlessly clean. We all agreed that we would stay there again.
Unique and remote farmhouse that was perfect for our family
We stayed at this cozy farmhouse for three nights in late October. Our family of five used the home as our landing spot for a weekend filled with day trips to West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock and many stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was perfect for us. The kids love the historic structure, the personal touches and the silence of rural farmhouse. For me personally, it brought back memories of my grandmothers home, from the porch to the stairs....even the door knobs. I’m so envious of the cast iron pans in the kitchen...all well seasoned and were perfect for breakfast pancakes a couple mornings.
If you are looking for modern luxury, you may want to look elsewhere. This home has been preserved well and is authentic. It is well stocked with kitchen cookware, paper products, blankets and the little things you may need. There are limited outlets so visitors should consider bringing outlet adapters (some were in drawers but we didn’t find them until the last evening). There isn’t a tv. We brought a monitor and chromecast and streamed movies for a couple nights. Internet WiFi is good. None of this is a criticism...just be aware.
For us, the home was wonderful and was an experience none of us will forget. It was also nice to reconnect with my past through a few days in this home.
The Farmhouse was a quaint and beautiful place to gather with friends and as a jumping off place to explore the area. It was just as advertised and we loved the character and history of the home. It was well-stocked and made it easy to enjoy our time The owner was very responsive to our pre-visit questions. All in all, it was a great visit and we would highly recommend the Farmhouse to anyone who enjoys getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Wonderful holiday that was a home away from home. Just what we needed to get a break from everything. A beautiful secluded house and a must visit for those who would like to re-bond with friends and partners. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our weekend getaway in this beautiful old house. Families with young children should note that there is no bath, only stall showers. Also, we could not find any electrical outlets in the master bedroom, which meant my husband had to sleep in another bedroom because he uses a cpap machine at night.
Owner is very responsive to questions.
We enjoyed our stay in this house very much! It is in a very quiet location and has a charm from days past that is intriguing to kids and adults alike. The house was very clean and had a lot of books and interesting pictures to enjoy. There were lots of butterflies outdoors, and we saw a couple turtles and deer outside. Molly was very helpful and quick to respond to questions. I would suggest asking for physical directions ahead of time, as our gps took us to the wrong spot. We will have fond memories of our stay here!
Wow!! This historical house made our trip extra fun! The house was decorated adorably and fit out needs. The secluded property was also a bonus. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Nicely kept home
Rustic home, well stocked with towels, first aid, hygeine products, and kitchen utensils. Clean and peaceful. Owners very responsive. The bathroom situation is a little odd if you are utilizing the 3 upstair bedrooms for folks not-related to each other. We rented the home for a bridal party/family. Limited electrical outlets in most rooms as it is an older home (older as in beautifully undergoing renovations circa 1920s? plus?) Property quiet and well kept. Enjoyed this home as opposed to a motel. Easy access to Hwy 421 and surrounding areas. Has a washer/dryer; Keureg, front/back porch, homey atmospher. Had a chance to relax between wedding planning events.

About the host
Hosted by Molly Nichols
We are originally from Wilkes. We left as college students and a couple decades later we found each other and the opportunity to care for and share this property.
Why they chose this property
If you need a break from it all...this is your place. It's quiet (no tv), it's peaceful (sit on the porch and watch for birds and other wildlife), and it has its own original, rustic farmhouse charm.
We purchased this home to preserve family history and a beautifully, quiet place. We find great solace in the time we spend here. Life’s twists and turns have allowed us to share it with you, our valued guests. We hope you enjoy your stay!
What makes this property unique
This home has been part of our family since it was built by Molly’s great-great grandfather. If you look closely at the chimney, see if you can find the brick with the date 1895 inscribed. It is truly living history!
