Roomy and clean with a nice little backyard and a good kitchen. You can walk to several good places to eat. Carlton is a small town with limited services (i.e., no grocery store or gas station) so bring what you need.

The property was pristine and clean and felt new. We loved having two bedrooms and bathrooms on opposite ends of the second level. We spent a few nights on the patio as well. It was very relaxing and a short walk to downtown Carlton where everyone was lovely and friendly. We were in town for the half marathon in Dundee which was a short drive.

Perfect Carlton Stay!

I can’t say enough about this beautiful, charming property! They truly thought of everything!! Not only was the place itself clean, comfortable and welcoming, it was well stocked with anything you might have left behind! Great yard for our dog. I loved the fact we could walk to everything in town and are just a short drive from tons of restaurants and wineries in neighboring towns! I highly recommend a stay at this property and will definitely be back!!

Excellent Stay!

This townhouse is perfect for everyone!I stayed here for work with my dog, and it exceeded all expectations. They thoughtfully provided little touches for her, including food and water dishes, which made us both feel right at home. She absolutely loved the fenced backyard—perfect for playtime and outdoor breaks.The home is exceptionally clean, bright, and cozy. The decor is beautifully done and creates a welcoming atmosphere. The hosts were very responsive and communicated throughout the entire stay, making it easy to get in touch if anything was needed.As someone who travels frequently for work as a Regional Nurse, I can confidently say this is the best place I’ve stayed in. I’ll definitely be back!

Great property in the heart of Carlton wine country

This was a great place to stay in Carlton. Walking distance to great wines and restaurants! The beds were very comfortable, and the entire place was very nicely appointed. Perfect place to spend a weekend to get away, and taste some very good wine.

A perfect location to explore the little town of Carlton. This place was absolutely perfect and dog friendly. It was clean and decorated so well. She had the Wine Country Farmhouse…he had the Walter Link House, which is how Anita and Larry met. Well...it was at the UFO Festival, but that’s another story. The result was another Vacation Rental, and now another one along the way. Both are natives who grew up in the wine industry; as kids, Anita picked grapes with other classmates during harvest on one of the first vineyards in Dundee, and Larry was raised on a farm in what is now the McMinnville AVA. Like Salmon, they returned after exploring the world to pursue their passion in their hometown: preserving historic properties and sharing Oregon Wine Country with the world. By joining forces—with Anita’s background in real estate and Larry’s background in construction—they have created a solid team in the growing family of Wine Country Properties.

Why they chose this property

This vacation rental is on a quiet, clean street with light traffic, where pedestrians walk their dogs and say "hello." The sidewalks are new, and it is a leisurely stroll around the block to Ken Wright Cellars and all the tremendous award-winning restaurants, wine-tasting rooms, bakeries, coffee, and boutique shops. Most of the homes on this block are vacation rentals, so you'll feel safe and welcome in this area. Carlton is a small rural town within the mecca of Oregon Wine Country. It is 10 minutes to McMinnville, 15 minutes to Dayton, or take a beautiful drive through the Red Hills and come upon Dundee. These towns are worth exploring, as you'll find hundreds of small vineyards everywhere.

What makes this property unique

The townhome was built in 2022 with a unique design. Only one side of the garage exterior wall connects to the next unit's garage, so you do not share a wall with the next-door neighbor. The townhome streams in natural light with its high ceilings on both floors and large windows from all sides of the home. And, as you would expect, the place is very comfortable with all its new modern features: central heat/AC, appliances, and an up-to-date floor plan. The backyard has secure fencing, and the grill and heat lamp are a bonus.
