Outside of property could use a few updates but otherwise inside was clean and prepared for our stay. Host was very informative and communicated everything we needed.
The place is old but has been updated. It is mostly quiet (except the hound dogs howling in the morning). The deck is nice to use but needs to have railings painted. (Our clothes kept getting paint pieces on them. Sara was easy to communicate with. The kitchen had many things you need. Need more spoons (only two and we need more for dinners and for making dinners). One can opener works the other does not.
First thing the host moved my reservation back a day due to a loss in the family which was incredibly kind and greatly appreciated. The experience we had with our stay started by pulling up to the property where the grass was not mowed. The gravel drive had tall weeds we had to walk through getting in and out of the car. Walked up the old deck to get in the home and noticed it felt weak in a couple spots I walked (which I am a heavier guy). The biggest problem was there were nails backing out in places so the nail heads were sticking up. Then when entering the home it smelled musty inside. It wasn't dirty or gross inside. It was decently clean just didn't have a good smell to invite you in. The interior was just fine except for a couple of things. The couch and chairs in the living room were badly worn and torn up looking and did not sit well. The one bedroom had bandaids on the pull chains for the fan and light fixture. Not sure why there were bandaids there but it was a little off-putting. Not a bad stay. I think if these few things I mentioned were taken care of it would be a great stay.
