Boulder Trail Getaway- 15 min from New River Gorge National Park
Take it easy at this brand new unique and tranquil home. My house is located on 100 acres of private land with miles of private hiking trails. You can hear the rapids of the Gauley River from the porch. It’s also located only 5 miles from Summersville Lake. And only 15 miles from the New River Gorge National Park. Also has a common area with a pavilion and fireplace where you can enjoy beautiful sunset views. Come back from a day of hiking and relax in a six person hot tub.

Property was incredible. Tucked away in the hills of West Virginia, it’s secluded but also has neighbors around the corner. Best of both worlds.Minutes from amazing hikes and views, waterfalls and white water rafting. Cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with the area and all there is to do.Owner was excellent, communicated well and left prefect instructions for check out.Quick to respond to any questions.Would 100% book here again.
The song Country Road is the perfect backdrop while driving down the scenic route to Boulder Trail Getaway. The house is wayyyy back off the main road but the tranquility of the deep woods is incredible. The house is very comfortable and (5) women had plenty of room to move around. The hot tub and great fire pit kept everyone entertained. The kitchen was well supplied with pots/pans and small appliances that made making meals easy. Nice gas grill too! Great vacation home.

The listing should probably describe the driveway because many cars wouldn't make it without bottoming out on the ruts (the pictures don't do it justice. The Internet wasn't working for the first day because it wasn't hooked up correctly. There was trash all over the driveway when we showed up because it hasn't been properly stored in the can or picked up by the trash service. The hot tub seemed like it hadn't been cleaned for a while given the amount of buildup from the elements combined with people not washing off lotions before getting in. The washer/dryer settings weren't right...it always used hot water even on cold settings. The AC leaked in one of the bedrooms, so we kept a bucket under it. When we looked for clean linens, many of what was there was wadded up and shoved in the cabinet with stains, so it wasn't clear if they'd been washed. It would have been nice to have some wall hooks to hang things since there were no closets and only one set of hooks by the front door. The cabin itself looked nice on the surface, with thoughtful decor. The owner did respond to messages to try to fix the Internet and got someone there to clean up the trash.
Beautiful home in a private area. Pros: Spacious and nearly new home, hot tub, secluded, owner communicated timely and was helpful. The home is well-situated near beautiful Summerville Lake and the NRG national park.Several dining options within a short drive.Cons: The entry driveway, a 1/4 mile or so, was not well maintained. Our Odyssey would rub bottom without extreme caution. A taller vehicle would have no problem. The parking area is steep and requires some creative navigation. The hiking trail near our home was needing sprayed or mowed. It was about a foot tall with green growth. Luckily, there are many hiking options in nearby state and national parks.
My husband and I stayed for the weekend for our 5 year wedding anniversary. The cabin was perfect! The host was great and accommodated a request from my husband to set up champagne and roses upon entry for our anniversary and he certainly delivered! Loved the quiet and private location but was still close to Summersville lake and the New River Gorge. The cabin itself along with the outside fire pit and hot tub were exactly the type of relaxation that we needed! Plan to go back next year with our kids!
