The virw was so peaceful. I did wish it had a dishwasher. The beds were comfortable. The internet was satellite vut homeworker warned me that it can be slow due to weather. A nice patio to enjoy outside weather. They were very attentive.
Dirty forks in furniture in bedroom, trash under sofa, toilet not working (had to buy own plunger), a/c not working it was 80 degrees in home (had to sleep in living room on sofa and floor with doors open for cross breeze), ceiling fan worked only in one room, tv in master bedroom did not work. Of all VRBO stays I’ve ever had this was by far the worst stay.
We left due to the air quality. All the windows were sealed and the living room smelled like cat urine... the same dirty fork in the previous review was still in the chair. We stayed 2 nights and then we both started feeling ill the third morning.....we packed and left. The master bathroom smelled like septic system. They refunded 5 nights of our stay after we sent pictures and explained about the air quality. Dont want to dis anyone but we were seriously worried about our health. Back bedroom smelled like sour beer.
We really wanted to get away for a few nights and relax, this spot was perfect. The area is beautiful, the house is great, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice and quiet. Towns are close enough to get some food or supplies and get back to doing nothing, Mineola, Hawkins, and Lindale are great little towns. Nelda was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay.
We had the best time! The farmhouse is beautiful and well kept! We loved reading the family history and very much enjoyed how quiet and peaceful the area is. My niece particularly enjoyed playing the piano. She spent most of her evenings there instead of browsing on her phone which was a definite plus! Nelda was a wonderful host and always made sure we had everything we needed! I cannot say enough about her hospitality! Thank you so very much!
Found a great place to stay after our Uncle’s funeral.
The whole family loved the peaceful feeling when we drove through the gate, to see the land and the trees and the little farm house. We walked in and again felt a peaceful spirit. The history of the house really excited my wife, daughter and Granddaughter. Yes we would definitely stay again.Thank you for the wonderful feeling we felt when we were there.
Very quiet and peaceful place. A lot of history in that house.
Wish I could have meet Nelda to gain some more insight into history of the property. There is a very talkative cat that oversees the homestead, One thing that confused me was the "rules" said "no glass containers" yet all the plates, bowls, and even the coffee cups were glass.
