Named after the historic hurricane that touched the Outer Banks, Gloria offers a warm and restful one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo in a building with over 30 years of character. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, or business guests seeking tranquility and convenience, the apartment features a comfortable bedroom with a king bed, sofa bed and a modern full bathroom. The kitchenette is equipped with a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave—please note, there is no sink.

Step outside, and you’ll find yourself just 50 yards from the sparkling ocean, perfect for morning walks or sunset strolls. Gloria is one of nine independent Airbnb units in the building, ensuring your privacy. Guests also enjoy access to a shared deck featuring two grills, ideal for watching breathtaking sunsets over the water and savoring outdoor meals. An inviting common indoor area includes a foosball table, TV, and cozy couches for relaxation or socializing after your beach adventures.

Gloria is pet-friendly, welcoming your four-legged companions for an additional pet fee so you can enjoy your getaway together. Our property features a spacious layout with a king-sized bed for luxurious comfort, a cozy couch for relaxing, and a TV for entertainment. We had a great anniversary weekend trip. Walking distance from restaurants. We had to walk a few blocks to get to a usable beach due to houses falling in ocean but wasn’t an issue. Buxton is a pretty beach town.

This is a very nice place close to the beach. It is a very nice hotel room. Completely updated with comfortable King bed and bathroom. We were informed about construction in front that limited parking but that was not an issue for us. The room was nice and cool for our arrival and we felt very comfortable there with our pets.

The room was not as expected. We were provided a digital code to enter the room, however, the room was unlocked, a key awaited inside behind a wall hanging thing, and the electronic lock had no batteries. The door was dirty and needs to be replaced due to years of wear and tear. The lock assembly was poorly installed, but functional. Inside, the curtain rod fell off the wall revealing poorly anchored rod hangers that are falling away from the wall and a dirty miniblind. There is black mold across the entire bathroom ceiling and there are water spots covering the shower glass partition making showering feel a bit yucky. The ceiling fan did not work so the moldy ceiling snd fan cover is not surprising. We made coffee in the morning, but the sugar and sugar-free packets were old and the contents sticky. We chose to head toward a coffee shop for our morning cup and threw the packets away and dumped the coffee The walls have a cute theme, however arepoorly painted and certainly are ready for a new, professionally applied coat of paint. The bed was OK but rather lower than expected, about 12 inches off the ground. The AC/wall heater was new and worked well. We will not be returning to this property, though we will be returning to the Outer Banks. The beaches are amazing.

Didn’t Disappoint

Our stay in Gloria was very good. We walked to almost all restaurants and to the beach. We even walked to the lighthouse! Overall, it was a great getaway for me and my wife. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

Great little room in Buxton, very clean and smelled great when we arrived! There’s a mini fridge and microwave which came in handy, but no table to eat at. It’s a small room, but was good enough for me, my wife, and our dog for 3 nights. The ocean is just a few houses away, but there’s really no beachfront there (see photo). Luckily, it’s the Outer Banks, so there’s plenty of beach nearby!

Wedding invite

A wedding invitation brought to the Outer Banks. It is the first time we have been to Hatteras Island. The Gloria room fit our needs perfectly. We were able to be on the beach one day, do a little shop hopping in the rain, catch up with other wedding guests and celebrate the couple. A great trip. As a t shirt design said Hatteras Island No Bad Days!!!

Great Escape

This property was exactly as advertised! Upon entering our room we immediately smelled how clean this unit was! The property owner, Wanda, is the sweetest lady. The unit is within walking distance to restaurants and beach stores, a short drive from the ferry to Ocracoke and a short distance from Avon. We were so impressed we extended our stay. We will definitely book this unit again in the future. 🌊🌞
