Discover your personal heaven on your next Lake Huron Vacation. A relaxing drive through the streets of the beach town of Grand Bend will end at the Starfish Cottage. Who can blame you if you drop your bags inside the front door and head straight down to the beach, a stone’s throw away. For sure you will want to enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake! Awesome!
Meal time? Why not try that new dish you have been waiting to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. If you would prefer to grill, a new gas BBQ is ready to sear your steaks. After supper, get ready for that short walk downtown for ice cream.
At bedtime, two quiet bedrooms will make your slumbers restful. There is one queen and one double bed.
Don’t wait too long to book this cottage. Cute cottages this close to the lake are a rare find in this area and the best weeks tend to fill up quickly. For larger groups, the Goldfish cottage is right next door and sleeps five as well.

We really enjoyed our stay . Perfect location , short walk to the beach and to main street for shops and restaurants . It was a hot week , no air conditioning but fans were available .
The check-in process was really easy and relaxed. The kitchen has everything you need, even some soap, salt and pepper. The pans are well used.

Thank you for your review! We're happy to hear the check-in process was smooth and that the kitchen had everything you needed for your stay. We appreciate the note about the pans – we'll take a look and see about refreshing them soon. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to host you again in the future!
Very good value for our money. The cottage was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. After reading some reviews we were concerned about cleanliness but everything was wonderful. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was fully stocked with anything we needed for preparing meals including a microwave and dishwasher . It was hot during our stay but cooled down with the fans provided at night. We will definitely be back.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay and found the cottage comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. It’s great to know the location worked perfectly for exploring the area, and that the fans kept things comfortable during those warm days. We truly appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back for another visit!
Stayed for 5 nights. It was a heat wave, the portable ac was nice to have and the extra fans in the cottage. There is a ceiling fan in dining room and both bedrooms. The one bedroom ceiling fan only goes one slow speed, but there was an additional portable fan in there.
Had a lovely long weekend, the location is fantastic from the beach, barely a 2 min walk!
We thought not having air conditioning would be unbearable but you do climatize especially after a long day at the beach.
Bring extra fans and coffee filters
Would definitely consider booking this cottage again if we come to Grand bend. .

Great location, cute cottage for small family
Overall we had a great stay at Starfish Cottage and enjoyed our week in Grand Bend. The cottage is on the small side but great for a couple or small family. The location is the best part, you can see the beach from the front door and its only a 2 min walk. There were a few small concerns regarding the accuracy of the listing which didn't affect us overall and some smaller amenities were not provided that I expected to see but we made it work! I would say overall this was a good choice and we had a great stay. I would definitely rent from Paul again!

Thanks, Aisling,
This is just a new cottage for us and we will take your recommendations and get the little amenities provided!
The location of what we were looking for was great- close to beach, walking distance for restaurants. But, because of the area we were in, one night partying went on till 2:30 am and you can hear everything. We were disappointed not to be able to watch the hockey game, there is a “ tv” but the customer needs to have streaming accounts. No cable. They advertised AC, but a portable AC unit is in only one bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom do need a really thorough cleaning. Our contact Paul did readily reply to the two issues we did have. We did enjoy our stay, the Mexican restaurant was the best place to eat.

The location of the property is fantastic. However, the cottage was not cleaned well at all. It was covered in dust and cob webs, the handles and light switches had not been cleaned recently and all had a fair amount of dirt around them. The cottage is listed as having air conditioning, however it is a single floor unit in one of the bedrooms which limits the ability to close the bedroom door and cool the space. One of the bedrooms has shutters that open into the enclosed sunroom/sofa bed room which significant limits privacy. Overall we liked the location but would not recommend this cottage to families or anyone concerned about the cleanliness.

This is a wonderful location
This is on the last street before the beach and a min walk to the main street.
The place was not clean though. A smell of urine when you walk in the door. Stains on the tablecloth( we washed it), kitchen sink was filthy. Floors under the beds and couches have sand under them. Bring toilet paper we had 2 rolls for 5 people for 5 days.lol Needs a really good clean.
Overall we had a food week due to the location. We tried to put aside the lack of cleaniness.
filthyfilthy,

Unfortunately this is a retributive review, the guest having asked for a discount and being refused same. The cottage is not at all like she described. Please read the other reviews here to get a better picture. The cottage is professionally cleaned before each arrival.

Be aware inaccurate amenities listed
The location was ideal. Very short walk to Main Street and the beach. It was a good size for 3 adults and one child. Check in was complicated by the wrong address in the email link. Upon arrival the house was close to 90 degrees. The listing says air conditioning but this isn’t the case. There was one portable a/c in a bedroom. It only cooled that room and was connected to the window with a hose that draped over the corner of the bed. A larger floor fan was brought after conversing in person with the host. The house was still in the upper 80s by mid morning. The ceiling fan in the second bedroom only had one speed which was barely moving. The microwave worked poorly. Never heated my cup of water. The kitchen table sloped on one end. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain. This was fixed the next day after contacting the host. One bedroom window only had a thin see through lace curtain. Daisy was very pleasant to talk with and did try to find a way to cool the house. Unfortunately the windows would not don’t a window a/c and there wasn’t any portable a/c unit available to purchase.
