This property was great. It had everything I expected and was exactly as I thought it would be. I would recommend this property to others and I would stay here again.
A stunner of a cottage! Very spacious with all the amenities. If you don’t mind doing the steps down to the lakefront it’s worth the swim and the view. Which you can also get from the upper wrap around deck. Extremely gracious host! Thank you for everything.

Hi Monica,
Thanks for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
this property is fabulous- huge dock and sitting area above for bonfires, the wrap around deck is wonderful and has a great view of the lake. the kitchen is amazing with a wonderful island. It is gorgeous and well suited for a large family as there are so many beds. Allan was fantastic.
2 single man kayaks and one double and access to canoes too. Just loved it.
From the start this has been an amazing holiday. This property has everything you need. So much fun and the grounds were amazing. That view.... The pictures don't even do this place justice. Counting down the days until next time.
The owner is amazing. He thought of everything.
Our family had a great time. The access to the lake required climbing up and down very steep stairs, I would not recommend it for anyone with mobility issues. The kitchen was wonderful and modern. The deck was very large and the BBQ was great. The laundry machine is an apartment sized one, I would recommend bringing your own linen as it would be very difficult to do all of the sheets prior to the 10am checkout. We also used our own towels. I would recommend.
Alan’s cottage is fantastic, the pictures don’t do it justice. We all had a great time by the lake, the whole place was very secluded and the cottage itself is huge. Alan’s communication was very good and we had everything we needed. It’s probably the best equipped cottage we’ve ever stayed in. All in all a great stay.
Great property. Larger then expected cottage. Tons of room to spread out. Waterfront is perfect. Tons of privacy. Cottage has everything u need. Allan timely with responses and pre check in documents we fantastic. We would definitely stay there again.
The property and home were beautiful. The house was very well stocked with most everything needed including board games and DVDs. It was comfortable, clean, amenities like AC, BBQ and WiFi worked great and the dock was a great place (lots of deck chairs, canoe, kayaks) to just relax and enjoy the beautiful lake. So quiet and restful and just a wonderful holiday!
The cottage and lakefront setting are beautiful. The cottage interior is large. The billiard room is a nice feature. The older two of our group would have preferred not to have the sunken living room on the main floor (to avoid tripping); ok for young people. The 1.7km (or so) approach just before the cottage on Coaster's Lane Coachwhip (3 blind curves) is ok if you drive very slowly (3-5 km/h) and very carefully. The host was meticulous and comprehensive in his advice and communications. Thank you.
Very nice place. All the amenities you could think of. Location is nicely secluded but also close enough to the closest town for a supply run. We had a great time. Thx Alan.
We enjoyed the beautiful property and surroundings. Great cross country skiing nearby, sledding on the driveway, and an incredible, well equipped home. The kitchen has every gadget and appliance you need, and is perfect for conversation and long dinners. Lots of board games as well, along with a pool table and dart board downstairs. If you have older kids, this is an ideal set up.
If you are renting in the winter, a vehicle with 4-wheel drive is necessary to get to the property. The hills are many, steep, and curvy.
We did have a few problems in our rental, but Allan was very attentive in trying to solve them. I would recommend this property.
This was our 2nd time at this property. It does not disappoint. The views are gorgeous. The cottage is stunning the kitchen is well appointed. It is impossible to have a bad time here.
If you like a quick hike and art, treat yourself to the Haliburton Statue Forest, a short drive away.
The owner is fantastic. If you have a dog, they will also love this cottage.
Large, very private cottage with nice decor surrounded by windows with a view! The kitchen is awesome and has everything one would need to cook and/or bake. There is ample seating for everyone with multiple rooms to spread out. When not swimming off the great dock or canoeing, we were able to visit the local brewery, mini golf and hiking trails which are all close by. The place is actually much better than the pictures! It was a wonderful vacation!!!!
Rented this for a week to get two families together. Very comfortable, clean and spacious property on a beautiful lake. Perfect room for the kids with their own space so even when the weather did not cooperate, we enjoyed time inside the cottage playing games and having a pool tournament. Great swimming right off the dock. (Lots of stairs though, so you will get your steps in). The road in was long and winding with a couple of sizable hills at the end. Once you were familiar with them though, you could anticipate the speed needed to take a run up them. Winter would be tough. Other than that, it was perfection for family time.
Allan's cottage had everything we needed for a long family get away with teens, pre-teens, young children & our dog. The house had everything we needed (and more!), including a very well equipped kitchen, a great downstairs with a tv room & pool table, and everything you could need at the lakefront to enjoy the water. Highly recommend this cottage, we will definitely go back when we're back in Canada!

Larger than expected
This cottage is fantastic. Much larger than expected. The kitchen is a great entertaining space. The fireplace was the focal point and we had it fired up for most of our stay. Unfortunately getting into the cottage is very treacherous. There is a huge hill into the cottage that does not get plowed. Our 4 wheel drive slid off the hill and it took the better part of the afternoon to get it out of the ditch. Parking at the bottom and hiking in with all of your supplies would take forever and with snow would be exhausting.
