Charming Cottage with: Hot Tub; Deck; Wi-Fi; A/C; BBQ; Firepit; Dock: Pets OK!

Dragonfly Hollow is a quiet getaway with all the comforts of home. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a wood fireplace and wood stove in the main cottage, plus propane fireplaces in the master bedroom, and sunroom.
Our fully equipped kitchen boasts a gas stove, 2 refrigerators, dishwasher, farm sink, and all the usual utensils, dishes and cutlery.
The cottage is heated and cooled with heat exchange units, so it's always comfortable.
The large covered deck shelters the BBQ, and leads to the built in hot tub, and Norma's Nook, a private Bunkie with a double bed and 2 piece washroom, all within a fenced yard.
Outside the fence the level lawn stretches the entire 190' of waterfront, with seating and dinning areas, a firepit, and horseshoe pits.
The dock, receives sun from noon until dusk.
We provide 2 kayaks, a canoe, a paddle boat, as well as inner tubes.

Always a great vacation

Our 5th stay was amazing as always!! The cottage has everything you need and more! We love rafting down the river, playing darts and relaxing on the hammock. The kids love it and are always sad to leave.

Perfectly charming!

Wonderful Family Holiday

This was our second time at this cottage and it rates as one of the best places we have been to. The cottage is beautifully decorated and makes you feel right at home. The host is friendly and everything is so well organised. The kids could enjoy fishing, tubing and all of the outdoor games. One of the reasons we love this spot is because it is also very pet friendly. We had a wonderful family holiday.

Dragonfly Hollow cottage is a beautiful retreat.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dragonfly Hollow cottage. It was peaceful and beautiful inside and out. The attention to detail was so lovely. Our dog enjoyed the wonderful outdoors so much. We cannot wait to rent Dragonfly Hollow again!

A Wonderful Holiday at Dragonfly Hollow

This was our first time at Dragonfly Hollow and we were delighted with the location, accommodations, comfort, cleanliness, attention to detail and responsiveness of the owner. In our case our family consists of four adults; three slept in the 2 bedrooms in the cottage and 1 in the well-appointed bunkie. This VRBO is particularly well equipped for a family dog, not only because of the walking trails in the area but because the cottage is surrounded by a fence and is equipped with a dog door. Haliburton is about 20 minutes away (Minden about 10 minutes) and has a thriving arts community. A highly recommended VRBO!

Really great place. Very clean and well maintained. They’ve thought of everything with extra batteries bulbs anything you could possibly need in a pinch. Lightning killed the power for a short time but the generator kicked in immediately and we didn’t miss a beat. Beautiful cottage with great kitchen, porch and hot tub and great experience and hosts! Thanks Gord and Dan for a wonderful place for the family to unwind.

We absolutely love this cottage. Our 4th time visiting did not disappoint. Gord and Dan have thought of absolutely everything you would need during your stay and more. The kids love rafting down the river during the day and catching roads/frogs at night. We look forward to visiting again next year.

Dream vacation

Can't say enough about how wonderful your place is. Pictures do not do it justice. All amenities are state of the art with the exception of the classic stereo system (which we love as a stereo buffs) We loved the remote location. Beautiful setting next to the river. A special shout out goes to our chipmunk guests Chip n Dale who we shared our peanuts with! We will definitely book this place again! .

Best Cottage Experience !

Amazing!! Brilliant !! Elegent!! This was the best cottage experience for me and my young family. Beautiful scenery , good fishing , great, private firepit, amazing accommodation, delicious bbqs , steamy jacuzzi , canoing, swimming and most of all a very enjoyable experience all around. Gord really made sure that we were as comfterable as we can be and just cant express enough how enjoyable and satisfying the stay was. Cheers !

We spent 2 weeks at Gord and Dan's beautiful cottage, wonderful stay! They have thought of everything and we were extremely comfortable. The new bunkie came in very handy for friends who stayed over one night. Loved the outdoor shower and awesome coffee maker. Tons of wood for the enclosed firepit. Very private, great hot tub. Enclosed area for the pooch. Thank you!!

Something very special…

We had an exceptional time at Dragonfly Hollow! Gord and Dan have thought of everything a guest might need to make their stay comfortable and memorable: cozy beds, plenty of towels, dishes galore, a guest-dedicated fridge, and even an outdoor shower. There are many spots, both indoors and outdoors, to read and relax. The property is very private and quiet, other than the sound of the river, which was very welcome. Highlights of our stay included tubing on the river rapids, finding brightly coloured mushrooms along Dragonfly Lane, playing darts and horseshoes, swimming daily in the river, and hot tubbing under the stars. Thank you again, Gord and Dan, for sharing your space with us. We can’t wait to return!

Great for kids and dogs

We stayed at this cottage in July 2020 with our young family (kids aged 4, 6 and 8) and our medium sized dog. We've rented cottages for years, and this one was by the far the most well-appointed. It had everything we needed (and things were high quality). Our kids loved playing and tubing in the river and our 8 year old in particular loved the kayaks. The cottage is tastefully decorated, the beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked. We had some rain - but it didn't matter. With the sun room, covered deck and hot tub, when it rained, there was still loads to do. Many places to sit and relax indoors and out. Our kids have asked if we can stay at this one again.

Labour Day Getaway

Top 5 things we loved about Dragonfly Hollow: 1) The cottage itself was absolutely stunning and had everything you could possibly think of. Very clean and very comfortable beds! 2) The extensive music collection on the iPod! Not to mention the stereo system! 3) The completely fenced in dog run for our little Frenchie to run around all weekend long without worrying about losing him. He even learned how to use the doggie door! 4) The outdoor shower - game changer! Was so nice to rinse off after a dip in the hot tub! 5) Sitting in the sun all afternoon long! We had a great time staying at Dragonfly Hollow! Gord was a great host and I would recommend this little gem to anyone!!

Family Week

Our children are in their mid-twenties, we have all been so busy this past year, we wanted a week to reconnect and have fun together. Dragonfly Hollow did not disappoint! We had a fabulous time playing darts, horseshoes, corn hole, floating down the river and fishing. Simple things such as sitting in the river on a lawn chair enjoying the view or reading a book truly made us grateful to be there. The magic begins when you realize the hosts have thought of everything! They have created a peaceful space that allows you to experience the sound of the water as it runs rapidly over the river rocks, beautiful sunsets, games/activities to keep all ages entertained, river floating is a 5 star relaxing experience and the outdoor lights keep the magic going after sunset. And there's more....extras that we are very grateful for is a gated area that dogs can be safe but adventurous in, doggie door, cozy luxury inside, hot tub and a bunk with washroom! Truly, I would like to keep Dragonfly Hollow a secret but something this special deserves to be shared, so I highly recommend you go find the magic it offers.

A wonderful place to get away

This is our second time staying at Dragonfly Hollow. It is the perfect getaway from the city. The beautifully appointed cottage is nestled amongst tall pines and cedars, giving the perfect mix of shade and sun, and the entire width of the property sits along the babbling Drag river. You can find a spot to sit and read, sunbathe on the dock, do a little fishing or swim in the river. Hosts Gord and Dan have really thought of everything to make your time at their cottage as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thank you both for another wonderful stay!

Fantastic property that has everything you need!

Well appointed cottage that is very organized and clean. They went above and beyond to make it dog friendly with a fenced yard and doggie door! Great waterfront with rapids for tubing and lots of outdoor activities on site. Tubes kayaks canoe horseshoe pits etc all available for guest use. The fire pit was fantastic for making s’mores too! These owners have thought of everything and it really made us feel at home! We also appreciated that the owner’s private spaces were clearly marked. One suggestion would be to have a little more space available in the bathroom for guests to put their toiletries. Certainly not a show stopper and we will definitely be returning to this location!

5 stars all the way around!

My husband and I spent a wonderful, relaxing week at Gord and Dan’s beautiful cottage. The photos do not do it justice. It is a gorgeous space, inside and out and every detail has been carefully thought out. We spent the week sunning on the dock, relaxing on the deck, fishing, tubing in the rapids, kayaking and enjoying the hot tub. While the cottage itself is beautifully designed, it is the outdoor space that makes Dragonfly Hollow so special. There are so many little nooks and places to go you can follow the sun all day long. Also, there is something about the sound of rushing water that adds another level of relaxation. I loved sitting on the covered deck and listening to the water at night. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay at Dragonfly Hollow

My family and I enjoyed an amazing stay at Dragonfly Hollow. The cottage is beautifully updated with every possible convenience and the location is just perfect. Gord and Dan were fantastic hosts, both in the booking/meeting but also in the attention to every little detail. We had a great few days and looking forward to booking for next summer.
