The hosts were incredibly welcoming! They were responsive and so helpful! They provided us with restaurant and hiking recommendations, which made it easy to decide where to go eat. The cabin is lovely and a great place to stay. We’ll definitely stay here again when we come back!
The Cabin is beautifully decorated, immaculate, and so very comfortable. It is close to everything, but far enough away for peace and quiet. Our host was wonderful and made sure our stay was enjoyable. Five plus stars.

Thank you so much for your great review! We are very happy you and your wife enjoyed yourselves in our cabin. You were wonderful guests, and are welcome back any time!
The place was very clean, well-stocked and an excellent location for Lake activities. A nice quiet neighborhood. We would enjoy staying again in the future.
This is our 2nd year to stay in this Lake Lure house. We love the gated, quiet neighborhood that borders the lake with a marina and sandy beach. It’s a great place to walk and explore the creek, waterfall and marina. We’ll definitely be back!!
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake cabin. It was just what we needed for our wedding elopement at Cabin Heaven in Hendersonville. Jon was amazing at communicating with us the whole stay. It was quite and peaceful. After a long day of celebrating our elopement with family and friends we enjoyed the relaxing jacuzzi and had a great nights sleep! We highly recommend staying here and will be back soon! Thank you!
Every part of our 3 night stay here was spot on. communication with owners was friendly and helpful. the resort location is quiet, lovely, and walking distance to a small waterfall and beautiful views of lake. We enjoyed walking around the resort and looking at the homes and large properties. The outside of the duplex is not fancy but the inside was newly renovated and generously furnished. Our favorites were the front porch swing overlooking a lovely rose of sharon bush and the mountainside, and comfy king mattress and bedding. The hot tub was wonderful after hiking chimney rock and exploring ! The kitchen had everything needed for food prep. Short drive to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. If you like hiking, good food, breweries and wineries, this is your place. Check out eating on the deck waterfront at Highlands in downtown chimney rock, ice cream across from lake lure beach and enjoy wine, a good meal and live music at Burntshirt winery with an amazing view of Chimney Rock Mt. There is a quaint brewery called Whistletop housed in a railroad cars a 30 min drive away which is a must see with really good beer. recommend this spot 100%.

Thank you Elizabeth for taking the time to leave a review for our cabin! We are so happy that you and your family enjoyed our "slice of heaven" and left our place as you found it. We do hope that you return and would welcome you back anytime!!
This cabin is perfect! We enjoyed our stay very much and will be back again. The host was great at checking in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The cabin is located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. It is so relaxing and enjoyable!
We enjoyed sitting on the big porch after site seeing, hacking and fishing. Loved the kitchen so spacious and ready for cooking. I would stay there again for sure.
my youngest son and I had a great time the weather wasn't cooperative but it Sean just enough Monday to go spread her ashes so now she's at peaceful place I'll do more than happy to stay there again thanks for the sweet hospitality
We canceled a cruise out of Fl for the week and were fortunate to find a vacancy for this property. We loved the house and location. The house was well stocked and very clean!! The lake access and walking areas are an added plus!!
We definitely will rent again in the future!!
The property is well maintained, very clean, in a quiet development/community, and not far from the lake. We had no issues checking in or out and our stay there was relaxing, even if it was only for one night. I would definitely stay there again! To to the couple/family that own this property.... you have a good spot waiting on you when you retire! :)
This unit, which is part of a duplex, appears to have been renovated recently and is very attractive with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and large and attractive bathrooms and bedrooms. We found the bed to be comfortable and loved the large front porch.. The television is very large as well though it was initially a bit confusing to use for older folks who are used to cable. The unit sits on the lower end of the neighborhood which limits Views of the mountains but the nearby access to the Lake and the views there are absolutely beautiful. As with many places in the mountains, cell service can be inconsistent. However we would happily stay here again and recommend this unit. The owners have added many extra touches to make it an inviting place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Paul and Teri Hamel
Paul and Teri call Orlando, FL home, although, Lake Lure is our "home-away-from-home". Paul retired early after serving Orange County as a Firefighter for over 32 1/2 years and Teri retired from the Walt Disney Company in early 2024 after 46 1/2 years of service. We both loved our careers, but have adjusted to retirement beautifully! We love the great outdoors, especially hiking, skiing (water and snow), paddle boarding, boating, and even sitting on the porch swing watching the birds and bees flutter around.
Why they chose this property
We have been visiting this community in Lake Lure since we got married in 1988. Each visit, we rented from various owners, and made memories with our children, who are now grown! We love the fact that although homes have been built, the community has, by and large, remained pure and unchanged.
In 2021, the opportunity to become a property owner in this community presented itself and we quickly agreed the timing was perfect! We visit frequently, and are delighted to share our little "slice of Heaven" with others when we are not there!
