About the host
Hosted by Karin Josif

Although we currently live in Kernville full time, we used to live and work in the Los Angeles area. For the past 35 years, we always enjoyed bringing our children and our dogs here. Even though our kids are grown now, we still enjoy gathering here as a family. We love all of the outdoor activities this area has to offer, especially hiking, biking, whitewater rafting and kayaking.
Why they chose this property
We spent our honeymoon here 35 years ago, and purchased our first piece of property. Camping here when our kids were babies is one of our favorite memories. We grew to love the beauty of the area. There is so much opportunity for all kinds of outdoor activities, with plenty of time left for relaxation. We always wanted a place right on the river. We purchased this cabin in 2007 and have since done a complete renovation, both inside and out. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. This property is just a 3 hour drive from the Los Angeles area and 45 minutes from Bakersfield.
What makes this property unique
The obvious benefit to this property is its location. It offers the amazing sound and view of the river, with the backdrop of beautiful mountains. You will be able to access many activities just by walking outside. Bring your swim suit, fishing pole, book and cooler and spend the day at the beach that is just steps out the back door. Drive 3 miles into town, walk around the antique shops and grab a bite to eat at one of several restaurants. One of our favorite things to do is take the dogs for a hike each morning on one of many hiking trails.
