Thanksgiving Trip

The home was perfect for our annual family Thanksgiving trip. The open family room, kitchen and dining area enabled us to cook, talk, play games and make crafts all together.

Great trip!

We had a very nice relaxing stay. The home was nice and clean and very spacious. Good parking and with the carport could keep the boat out of the weather. Enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night very relaxing. The covered back porch was nice to sit out on and enjoy the beautiful weather. Very close to boat ramp making it very convient. There was no need to put tie downs on the boat and easy to transport long poles from the house to the ramp. Would definitely recommend this home for a vacation. The owners where very nice and always available. Very pleasant to deal with and to help out in anyway.

Great stay on Kentucky Lake!

Property was just as advertised. Clean and roomy with very close proximity to a good boat ramp, Paris, Tn, and Paris Landing. Plenty of parking on the property. Owner was attentive with quick responses. Will stay here again on my next trip!

springville home

Property was clean, well maintained. Only issue was a/c and it was fixed in a very reasonable time. Furniture and bed was comfortable and great water pressure. Only thing I might add is a couple more serving bowls and a couple nonstick sauce pans would have been nice but I managed fine in all our cooking ventures. Propane grill was great to use also. If in that area again, would definitely request same accommodations.

Triton owners tournament

Very nice place, lots of room for fishing gear and both boats. Needs some lights under carport for night rigging, but other than that not a thing wrong with this place. Neighbor was very nice. Can't complain.

Very quiet and relaxing!

It was a great place for our family of 5 to spread out with plenty of room to each have our own space to relax and get away for a few days. And with a fully furnished kitchen and a gas grill, there was no need to leave (except of course to go fishing). WiFi was great for those of us who still have to keep in touch with work. And the lake was just a short, quiet walk away.

Fishing Boys

We were in town the High School Bassmaster National Championship. The home was a perfect fit for our family of 4 and friends and family that came over to visit. The home was clean and had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, two very clean bathrooms, spacious kitchen/dining room, and large living room. My favorite feature was the washer and dryer! Going home with clean laundry is a plus! Trisha was very accessible with anything we needed. Chris and Trisha even came to watch our boys get 7th at the final weigh in. The carport was great to park the boat in out of the weather to get ready for the next day of fishing. Hopefully we will return for many years to come!

Fishermans Paradise

Home is spacious, clean, and has huge carport for parking a boat out of the weather. This is our third year staying in the home and the owners are great people. This is a great neighborhood and safe location. Great Kentucky Lake vacation home and we will be back!

Great location, ample room!

Overall the property was an excellent choice for our Fourth of July weekend. Close to the lake, enough pots and pans to cook whatever you wanted, charcoal grill worked great for steaks! The canopy over the drive was huge, big enough to park two big cuddy cabin boats in. Perfect spot too, because we backed our boat up beside kitchen door and made load and unload extremely easy. Dish network was great for some music videos while we made breakfast. Would definitely go back again!

Fishing paradise getaway

The home was clean and spacious, was located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The carport was a bonus to keep the boat out of the weather and the boat ramp was located right down the street which made it easy to launch every morning. The owners were helpful and always available and I would definitely recommend this home for a vacation.

Great trip

We had a very great trip!! The house was in great shape. Plenty of room for the four adults and 3 children that we had in our group. Covered parking was great for parking our boat to keep out of the weather. The home was very clean. I had no trouble getting in touch with the owners whenever I needed to and they were very helpful with all the questions I had. Would definitely recommend this home for a vacation. The boat ramp is very accessible. And being so close to the state park inn made it fun to take the boat over for lunch!!

Friends

Our stay was excellent. It has plenty of room for a big family. The house was spotless and had everything we needed! The house was very close to boat ramp, restaurants, or anything else we needed. We had room for my car our truck and boat to fit on property. We had a huge family cookout and we were not rubbing elbows at the lack of space. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and anytime we come back for a period of time we will stay here again. The ONLY thing that I see that might need some improvement is a bigger container outside for trash. When you stay a whole week and cook everyday with your whole family you accumilate alot of trash. But other than that I wouldnt change a thing! Thank you both for being so nice to help us out in anyway possible.

Relaxing vacation

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at this home. Kitchen had all the cookware we needed to cook several meals but we also enjoyed using the grill on the back porch. We were very close to boat ramp so we had no problem getting on the water. Peaceful in the evenings sitting by fire pit. Owners were very helpful with providing us information about the area. Would definitely stay at this home again! Thank you!

More like Bug Paradise...

Bottom line... if you stay here, be sure to get a ROACH free or your money-back guarantee! Keep reading to learn of my experience and how the owner treated us after our stay. As soon as my family and I walked into the house, we noticed a very odd smell. It was a cross between cigarette smoke and an old musty cellar. There was an attempt to cover up the odor as we noticed the Scentsy candles were on and other unlit candles were scattered throughout the house. We ignored the smell and went on with our weekend. That evening we encountered our first set of roaches. As my daughter was getting ready for bed, she brushed her teeth and set her toothbrush on the master bedroom vanity. An hour later, my wife went into the bathroom, turned on the light, and saw cochroaches scatter away from the toothbrush. It was late, so we left the light on in the bathroom to keep them from returning, checked the rest of the bedroom and went to sleep. The next morning, we encountered our second set of bugs: ants and more roaches. I went to the kitchen to make coffee and found ants in the sink swarmed over the smallest speck of food. The ant trail went along the counter and all the way up the kitchen window. I did my best to kill as many as I could so we could get breakfast ready. My father had opened two packages of bacon and had them on the counter when the cochroaches came out in broad daylight for a morning treat. This was one of the grossest beginnings to a morning I've ever had. We stayed here on a Saturday through a Monday, over Memorial Day weekend 2012. We attempted to contact the owner of the house on Sunday, but were unable to reach her. My father had pre-paid for the entire weekend and as disgusting as the house was, we stuck out our stay. My father did leave a letter for the owner explaining our experience in her home. The two even exchanged emails. Unfortunately, the owner didn't believe our story about the roaches, ignoring the fact there were roach traps under every sink in the entire house and admitted the house had been sprayed for something 3 weeks prior. The owner did not fulfill my fathers request of at least one night's refund. Moral of my story... DON'T RENT A DOUBLE WIDE! I can not recommend this house to anyone nor will I recommend or use VRBO.com in the future. Who knows how many other houses are on this site like this one???
Response from VrboOwner on 3 Apr 2020
First and foremost we have never witnessed or had any previous complaints of roaches in the home. We have a contract with a professional pest control company. The home is sprayed every three months including a treatment three weeks prior to the visit in question. The traps you speak of are not roach traps. They are put in the home for precautionary measures by the pest control company upon the initial service when they were hired. Second, we are not smokers and do not allow smoking in the home. The smoke or musty smell is something we have never noticed or again have not had any complaints about. We have candles in the home because we enjoy them in the evening and thought our guests might also. If we would have been contacted when the guest entered the home and told they were not satisfied a full refund would have been granted and we would have helped locate alternative satisfactory lodging. We did not receive a phone call or a voicemail informing us that the customers were unhappy with the property. If we had I would have addressed any issues with the home immediately. Instead the guest stayed the agreed dates and then in email communication stated and I quote “refund at least one full nights rent to keep me silent”. As for the comment DON’T RENT A DOUBLE WIDE! I should not have to address this but I will. This is a 1,620 heated square foot home constructed in 1987. I can verify this as fact because I watched it being built with my own eyes for family members of mine from whom I purchased it last year. We have used VRBO in the past and have been very satisfied with the properties we have rented. It honestly hurts my feelings to have someone say that this home is not clean. We work hard to make the home comfortable and clean for our guests.
