The house was wonderful set up really well for a larger group had everything we needed in the kitchen. A hot tub was great for the kids. We use the fire pit they even supplied wood for the fire. It was just an ideal place to stay. There are like Woodland creatures all around. It was just overall wonderful day. We would love to come back if we were in the area again.
We had a lovely long weekend stay on veautiful Sugar Mountain. The Fall weather was wonderful. There are many nearby activities. Evenings around the fire pit. Bill was very responsive anytime we had a question or an issue. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. This is a great place to stay.
Bill was an excellent host, was very fast at replying to my questions! Check in was a snap. House is great, was very clean and well maintained. Hot tub was very clean, and we enjoyed soaking under the stars. The large yard was perfect for walking our dogs! It’s a great location, very close to Boone and Banner Elk. We enjoyed our stay very much.
It truly couldn’t have been easier! The owner was so helpful and kind. I was very pleased with how the booking process went and my friends and I had a great time!
This home was cozy and offered all we needed. The renovated space was beautiful. Weather was not in our favor, so we did not get to utilize the outdoor space, but inside offered plenty of room for our group.
I cannot say anything bad about this rental! It’s was perfect! We didn’t spend a lot of time there because we were out having adventures but it was a perfect place for our crew! This was my first time VRBO and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Will stay here again!
The house was very nice. We would have liked a few more blankets and towels for the hot tub and a coat rack. The bedrooms and bathrooms were plentiful! I would suggest more toilet paper and paper towels for 15 people.
My son and I came for the day to visit Sugar Mountain and do some skiing. We are very olease with this hone. Very inviting and comfortable. It is also very clean. What a great way to relax in the Jacuzzi after a full day of skiing. Only downside is that the fireplace did not work upon our visit.Hoping to come back next time and experience the full effect of "Cozy", with a working fireplace.Sincerely,CJB
Is a beautiful super clean place, the hosts are amazing at getting back to you, everything is in great condition and is the perfect location for a ski trip, we will definitely come back to this place again.

About the host
Hosted by Sugar Nest
Why they chose this property
When we acquired The Sugar Nest, our goal was simple: create the most family-friendly, high-value lodge on the mountain. We noticed that most large groups were forced to choose between ultra-expensive luxury estates or splitting up into multiple cramped condos. The Sugar Nest bridges that gap.
We love this property because of its "flow." The main floor lets grandparents relax by the fire without navigating stairs, while the upstairs becomes a haven for cousins and kids to bond. The location is the sweet spot of Sugar Mountain—high enough to get the breathtaking views and cool summer breezes, but low enough that you aren't spending 20 minutes just driving down the mountain to get a gallon of milk.
Whether you are grilling on the deck in July or soaking in the hot tub after a snowy January ski day, this home feels like a hug. It is not pretentious; it is comfortable, durable, and ready for your family's chaos and joy.
What makes this property unique
True 6-Bedroom Capacity: We don't count lofts or open hallways as bedrooms. Everyone gets a door and privacy.
The "Pet-Friendly" Deck: Our expansive wrap-around deck isn't just for views; it’s a secure outdoor space where your furry family members can enjoy the mountain air safely alongside you.
The Parking Advantage: Forget fighting for a spot or parking on a dangerous incline. Our flat, spacious parking area makes loading and unloading gear (and groceries) a breeze.
Tech-Ready: While you are here to disconnect, we know you need to stay connected. Our high-speed internet supports the whole group, from Zoom calls to gaming.
Shuttle Access: Located near the Grouse Moor Drive route, giving you car-free access to the slopes during peak ski season.
